Doodle Bloom Thinking of You

I managed to get some time in the Craft Cave this afternoon and put together this card for 3 challenges. I used the sketch from Stampin' Celebration, the colours from The Paper Players and the Thinking of You theme from The Card Concept (where I think my card would be considered Clean and Layered).  I paper pieced Altenew's Doodle Blooms (I LOVE these!) and added some washi tape to frame the top and bottom.  That's it for me today as it's time to head back to work but hopefully I'll get some good crafting time in over the weekend.  Have a lovely evening!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Kraft) Papertrey Ink, (Crisp Cantaloupe, So Saffron, Wild Wasabi) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flowers & leaves from Doodle Blooms) Altenew, (Sentiment from All Squared up) Avery Elle

Awesome Butterfly

Good morning!  Just popping in before I jet off to work with a last minute entry for Just Add Ink's inspiration photo challenge.  I love the pop of pink in the bedroom photo and also wanted to include a butterfly.  I used a subtle geometric pattern (like on the bedsheets) for the bottom layer of the butterfly.  The background was created by adding Rose Red ink to embossing paste and using a Crafter's Workshop stencil.  Love the fun texture of that embossing paste!  I'm also going to play along with the CAS on Sunday Girl Power challenge.    Later, gators!

ETA:  Totally meant to enter this into the Virginia's View All Things Embossed challenge.

Butterfly Shaker

***This is my second post for the day.  For my CASology post please scroll down or

I'm squeaking in at the last minute with a card for the new Sparkle and Shine challenge where it's all about the use of sequins.  I don't have any Pretty Pink Posh products yet but I'm sure some will find their way into my stash soon enough especially if I keep playing along with these gals.  I took the green elements and the luck of the four leaf clover as my inspiration from this picture and made a very simple shaker card.  I've been wanting to make one for ages so I'm glad this challenge finally kicked me into gear!  Hope you've all had a lovely day and I'll leave you with the view during my lunch time play date with Atticus…

CASology #137

Welcome to Week 137 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I've been wanting to use this cute little crab from Lawn Fawn for ages and today's cue word gave me a good excuse.  I had to pair him with a palm tree and a beach though because crustaceans on their own aren't necessarily tropical (Alaskan King Crab anyone?).  I figured he could use a nice strip of washi tape sand to cool out on while he made his apology.  :)  Now it's your turn to share with us where tropical thoughts take you.  Be sure to check out the gorgeous design team creations and then play along!

Confetti Celebration

Hi there!  Popping in with a quick post before I dash off to work.  I'm playing along today with two challenges - Cure for the Monday Blues and Cupcake Inspirations Confetti.  I took my colours from the Cure challenge (the yellow package with the big pink bow) and the confetti idea from the cupcake challenge. This Crafter's Workshop stencil totally makes me think of confetti so I added some Rose Red ink to some embossing paste and covered my card base with it. The Mama Elephant panda looks like he's always ready for a party so I thought he's be the perfect guy to celebrate with!  Okay, time to go.  Have a lovely weekend!

CASology #136

Welcome to Week 136 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This week's cue word is definitely one of the more specific ones we've had so I'll be excited to see how you guys wow us with your awesome outside the box (or basket!) ideas.  I had a couple of things come to mind but I kept going back to the basket that you ride in on a hot air balloon so I dug out this NBUS Mama Elephant stamp set and created a little scene floating off towards the top corner of my card.  Your turn now.  Check out the fantastic creations from the design team and then get crafting!

Link your creations to the CASology blog and remember that the deadline for entries is Monday at noon (CST).

Bright & Cheery Thank You

Hello hello!  After a day of non-stop rain yesterday it's cool, dry and breezy today. We took Atti for a good long walk and then Luis started puttering around in the yard while I headed for the Craft Cave.  This card came together really quickly.  I had been playing around with some embossing paste the other day and had embossed the yellow pattern on the card but then wasn't quite sure what to do with it so I put it aside. Thankfully the Colour Me challenge was kind enough to provide a colour palette that included Daffodil Delight so I pulled out the card and got to work.  The lined pattern in the Colour Me picture made me think of this My Cute Stamps flower.  The little butterfly was also in the set so I added him to the mix.  They're the perfect images for a bright and cheery card which is what the Paper Players are calling for in their Think Spring challenge so I'll be joining them as well.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower & butterfly from Celebrate Today) My Cute Stamps, (Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks: (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Daffodil Delight) Stampin' Up
Punch:  (1/8" circle punch) McGill
Stencil:  (Mini Well Rounded) The Crafter's Workshop
Embossing Paste:  Wendy Vecchi
