Lighthouse

Hey there!

I'm sneaking in at the last minute with a card for the Paper Smooches Anything Goes challenge.  I added some yellow ink to some texture paste to create the stenciled background and it stands out beautifully against the turquoise card base.  The lighthouse was die cut and popped up on foam tape for some dimension.  Pretty simple but the texture and height add a lot of interest and I'm trying to use more coloured card bases these days.

That's it for now.  Have a good night!

Flowers & Birdies

Hi there!

I've got a few cards to share for several challenges today.  First up is for the Inky Paws Tropical Theme challenge at Newton's Nook using the sketch from CAS Colours & Sketches.  I'm also going to enter it in the CAS on Friday Exotic challenge.  I love this NN flower die and there isn't a flower that says "tropical" better than a hibiscus!  It came together quite quickly so I made it with a couple of different background colours and different sentiments.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Watermelon Wonder, So Saffron, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Smile sentiment from Dog Days of Summer) Newton's Nook, (Thank you from Many Thanks) Altenew, (Happy birthday) Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukeniko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Hibiscus) Newton's Nook, (Wonky Stitched Rectangle) My Favourite Things
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card using the Reverse Confetti Sketch For You to Try and the colours from The Colour Throwdown.  I paper pieced the adorable RC birdies and the patterned paper stripe is also RC.  I ended up making two but added extra stripes on the second card.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Raspberry Ripple, Daffodil Delight, Gumboil Green) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Pattern Play 6x6) Reverse Confetti

Hi-ya!

Hello hello!

I'm popping in today with a card for the Inkspirational sketch challenge.  It gave me the perfect excuse to finally ink up these adorable Mama Elephant ninjas and also to use some ancient Echo Park patterned papers.  I'm also going to play along with the Simon Says Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

Fussy cutting the ninjas took a bit of time but aside from that this came together pretty quickly.  I'm kind of loving all the bright colours and patterns - so not my usual style but fun to play with once in a while!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  (Little Boy 12x12 collection) Echo Park
Stamps:  (Ninjas & sentiment from Tiny Ninjas) Mama Elephant, (Happy birthday from Birthday Greetings) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Punch:  (2" circle) Marvy Uchida

CASology #259

Welcome to Week 259 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Guess what?  It's CASology's 5 year anniversary!  Yaaaaassssss!!

We are celebrating today with a hop that includes design team members past and present as well as some of the generous companies that have sponsored us over the years.  You should have arrived here from Altenew.

I have had the honor of being on the design team since CASology began.  I was so thrilled when Melissa contacted me and asked me to be a part of the team - my first design team ever!  I could not have asked for a better experience over the last 5 years.  I have gotten to know and work with many amazing ladies through CASology and Melissa has been a wonderful leader.  Not only did she create a brilliant challenge but she is talented, sweet, funny and so easy going.  Thank you so much for bringing me along on this fabulous ride, Melissa!  I'm looking forward to the next 5 years!

Now it's time for you to hop along to Ardyth's blog.  Once you've reached the end of the hop we hope you'll dig out your balloon themed supplies and play along with us!

CASology #258

Welcome to Week 258 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

How much fun are these Waffle Flower alpha dies?  I decided that they were screaming for some sparkle so I cut them from some DCWV glitter paper and I love how they came out. They are the perfect accompaniment for a shower of diamonds!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #257

Welcome to Week 257 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

All the stamps on this card are NBUS which always makes me feel accomplished.  I love this little Pinkfresh bunny and there are a bunch of cute images in this set.  The sentiment from W Plus 9 also has bunnies with it but they will have to wait to see the sun another day!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Party Elephant

Hi there!  Just stopping in with a quick card for the My Favourite Things sketch challenge.  This elephant from the Jungle Friends die set is so darn cute and I think he's extra adorable with a party hat on.  Although now that I look at it it seems that the hat is on his butt and not his head.  Hmmmm...  Someone may have gotten into the drinks a little early...

CASology #256

Welcome to Week 256 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Mmmmm.... pizza!!!  As a child I refused to eat cheese and so would peel it off of pizza, pick out the toppings and put them back on the dough.  Yes.  I was picky and weird.  Now I eat pizza as it was meant to be enjoyed and finally realize what I was missing all those years!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Super Lucky

One more card from the weekend to share.  I combined the sketch at Fusion with the Ellen Hutson June Pin-Sights challenge.  I love the yummy colours!  I spritzed up some Brushos, die cut the EBE flower from that and then cut the flower and the leaves from black card to really make it pop.  I like the thinness of the MFT scallop edge frame - it's the perfect size and doesn't overwhelm the rest of the elements.
Hope you all have a lovely week!

Congrats Rose

Between work and having friends visiting it's been a busy week so we have laid pretty low this weekend.  Also it's been super hot and humid so I've been happy to chill out indoors for the most part.

I made this card for the current Card Concept challenge and I'd say it falls into the clean and layered category.  I was inspired by the red roses and the black and white paper wrapped around the stems.  Aside from the Basic Grey patterned paper everything else from stamps to ink are Altenew.  I have to say I'm in love with Altenew inks these days.  Such yummy colours and I like the way the cubes are packaged together in colour families.
