Turquoise Anniversary Butterfly

Hello!

Today I've got got a card for the Just Us Girls Shades of Teal challenge.  I made quite a few cards with different PTI butterflies yesterday all using different Altenew inks.  For this one I took a cool Avery Elle circle die and used it to create a pierced background to help the butterfly pop a bit more.  I had forgotten all about it and found it recently while I was digging around for another die.  I love when that happens - its like Christmas!

CASology #356

Welcome to Week 356 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This large MFT sentiment was the first thing that came to mind when I sat down to make this card.  I wasn't sure what to pair with it initially but I think butterflies have the perfect calming and delicate feel needed for this kind of encouragement card.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Link your creations to the CASology blog by Monday, 2 December (CDT).

I'm also going to enter this card in the Just Us Girls Shades of Teal challenge.

Jolly Kitty

Hello!

I got some more crafty time today and have a card for Freshly Made Sketches.  I think this Fancy Pants patterned paper is my favourite Christmas paper of all time.  I simultaneously love and hate to use it because I don't want it to run out.  However I thought it would be perfect for this sketch so I cut into it.  I popped a Santa hat on this MFT kitty and set him up peeking over a Taylored Expressions sentiment.  (Have you guys tried their Simple Strips sentiment sets?  They're awesome!!!).  Funky trees and a cute kitty - what more could you want from a Christmas card?

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Happy Holidays 8x8) Fancy Pants
Stamps:  (Cat from Cool Cat, Hat from Beast Friends) My Favourite Things, (Sentiment from Simple Strips Christmas) Taylored Expressions

Dachshund Through the Snow

Hi there!

It's been almost two weeks since I last posted.  Life has gotten super busy and sadly has left little time for card making so I was happy to finally get in a few hours this weekend.  A friend wants a dachshund card for Christmas and this week's CAS Colours and Sketches sketch gave me a perfect jumping off point.  This happy guy from Newton's Nook has a paper pieced scarf that matches the sentiment strip and he's merrily bounding through some Pebbles snow paper.  I coloured him with Copics and popped him up on foam adhesive.  Pretty straightforward and I appreciate the push from CASC&S to use something other than my usual circle or square.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Snowflakes & green from Snow Fun 12x12) Pebbles
Stamps:  (Dog & sentiment from Holiday Hounds) Newton's Nook, (Hat from Beast Friends) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko

CASology #355

Welcome to Week 355 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I have quite a few cactus stamps but I always seem to be drawn back to the ones from My Favourite Things.  I coloured them with Copics and paired them with a Paper Smooches sentiment.  The wood grain washi tape seemed like the perfect thing to ground the plants and I added some Nuvo drops for a bit of fun.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!
