Burst o' Colour Butterflies

I'm popping in with one more card today (well, actually two with some slight variations).  I'm playing along with Freshly Made Sketches and the Colour Throwdown.  It doesn't happen often but these two challenges leapt out at me and I envisioned this card immediately.
It's a very literal take on the sketch and I loved how it came out so much that I made two.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Top sentiment from Many Thanks, Bottom sentiment from Bejeweled) Altenew

Other:  (Nuvo Dandelion Yellow & Pink Crystal Drops) Tonic

Time to Celebrate Baby!

Hello!

This morning I've got a card (in 2 colours) for the Stock Your Stash challenge at Reverse Confetti where this month's theme is Oh, Baby!  These onesie images are so adorable and are the first stamps I reach for when I need to make a baby card.  This time I paired them with a sentiment from a birthday set but I think it works great for any kind of celebration!

I'm also playing along over at Addicted to Stamps and More where this week's theme is Anything Goes.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Onesie from Cute As A Button, Sentiment from Birthday Wishes) Reverse Confetti
Inks:  (Strawberry Slush, Crisp Cantaloupe) Stampin' Up
Other:  (Nuvo Liquid Mercury Crystal Drops) Tonic

You've Aged Well

Hello there!

Tonight I've got a last minute entry for the Paper Smooches Anything Goes challenge.  I love that swirly, curly happy birthday die and have used it quite a bit but the wine dies and stamps are NBUS.  So glad to finally put them to use!

I started out using the sketch from CAS Colours and Sketches.  I think my card maybe strayed a little too far out of the CAS category for an entry but I wanted to give credit for the sketch.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Bravo Burgundy, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Fun & Frolic 6x6) My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Wine Sampler) Paper Smooches
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Bottle & glass, Sentiment) Paper Smooches
Other:  (Glossy Accents) Ranger, (Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops) Tonic

Pyramid of Cupcakes

Hi there!

I've got a card today for two challenges - Inkspirational and Seize the Birthday (where the topping option is rainbow).  I was inspired by the rows of cupcakes in the photo and also the pastel colours.  These little cupcakes are oldie but goodies from Lawn Fawn and are covered in glitter gloss although you can't really see it int his photo.

I'm hoping this is okay for Inkspirational.  The blog post title says: Photo - banners, kites, balloons but later in the post it says "We'd like you to be inspired by the photo."  Not sure if we were only supposed to be inspired by the things mentioned in the blog post title.  If I got it wrong I'm sorry, ladies!  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (smokey Slate) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Cupcakes from Bake Me A Cake) Lawn Fawn, (sentiment from Eat Cake and Celebrate) Concord & 9th
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Markers:  (RV10, YR00, Y11, G00, B00, BV31, E50) Copic
Glitter:  (Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss) Tonic
Gems:  Recollections

Flower Duo

Hello and happy Monday!

I've got two cards to share today for 4 challenges using some oldie but goodie Altenew stamps.  First up is for CAS Colours and Sketches and CAS(E) This Sketch.  I love this flower from Hannah Elements.  I stamped it on coloured cardstock and then used Copics to add some subtle shading to make it pop a little more.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Hello Honey, Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower from Hannah Elements, Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Marker: (Y15) Copic
Other:  (Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops) Tonic

Next is a card for Freshly Made Sketches and Just Us Girls.  I turned the sketch on its side for this one.  These Doodle Blooms are some of my favourite Altenew flowers especially since I finally broke down and got the matching dies.

Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

CASology # 348

Welcome to Week 348 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

My first thought the I saw the cue word was the shimmer of a mirage but I just wasn't in a creative enough space to move that idea from my brain onto cardstock.  So instead I went with the ocean which I see shimmering every day and its also full of gorgeous shimmery sea creatures!  I ink blended the blue strip and then popped up the little seahorse on foam adhesive for a little dimension.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

This week's sponsor:

Link your creations to the CASology blog by Monday, 5 August (CDT).

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Seahorse & sentiment from The Reef) Avery Elle
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Peacock Feathers, Salty Ocean & Wilted Violet Oxide inks) Ranger

Thanks Balloon

Hello there!

Its been almost a month since my last post although it feels like a lot longer than that.  The summer is flying by but thankfully we got to slow down for two weeks when we went to visit Luis's family in the Azores.  It was the most chilled holiday we've had in a VERY long time.  We did lots of eating and hanging out with his family and I burned through 7 books which was wonderful especially as most of them were fantastic and highly recommendable!  Now we're back home and I must say I'm feeling a lot more calm and relaxed about life than I did before I left.

As for crafting its taken me a bit of time to get back into the swing of it after such a long break but I feel like I'm finally hitting my stride.  Today's card was inspired by two challenges - CAS Colours and Sketches and The Library Challenge (thanks for pointing this one out to me, Michele!).  I'd never heard of this Jules Verne book before and don't know the story so I took my inspiration from the cover.  It seemed to lend itself perfectly to the sketch at CASC&S and I knew those Papertrey Ink stripes would be just the ticket for creating my sky.
