Stripes & Flower

This card is for the Colour Throwdown and Freshly Made Sketches challenges.  (I realize it's not in the running for Freshly Made as it's not a square card but I wanted to acknowledge where I got the layout from).  I used cardstock to make the striped square, stamped the WPlus9 flower over the top of it and finished it off with a Simon Says Stamp sentiment and some Nuvo crystal drops.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Green, blue, purple) Paperbilities
Stamps:  (Flower from Very Vintage Greetings) Wplus9, (Sentiment from Simple Sentiments #1) Simon Says Stamp

Have A Phone-omenal Day!

I haven't had a chance to do any crafting for weeks so I was happy to finally have a day to spend making cards.  I recently got this adorable phone die and stamp set from SugarPea and decided it had to be the first thing I used.  I decided to play along with the Colour Throwdown and AAA Birthday's 2nd birthday celebration.  I die cut all the pieces twice from yellow and black cardstock so that I could make two cards at once and I used a Watercolor Frame stamp from Altenew to add some interest and dimension behind the phones.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, True Black) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Top sentiment from Birthday Greetings, Background splatter from Watercolor Frames) Altenew, (Bottom sentiment from Call Me) SugarPea Designs
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Silver Stone, Industrial Diamond) Altenew
Dies:  (Phone) SugarPea Designs

Mother's Day Bird

Today's card is for the Freshly Made Sketches and Colour Throwdown challenges.  I have a pile of this Memory Box bird die cut in many colours sitting on my desk and the Throwdown colours gave me the perfect chance to put one to use.  Once I'd picked her out the rest of the card basically put itself together!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Blushing Bride, Lucky Limeade) Stampin' Up, (Coral mulberry paper)
Stamps:  (Sentimnt from Extra Special) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

Flowers & Stripes

Today's card is for The Colour Throwdown and Addicted to Stamps and More challenges.  Initially I was going to keep this super simple with just the flowers and a blue flag for my sentiment but then I decided the flowers needed a backdrop.  After playing around with a few ideas I settled on these skinny stripes from Essentials by Ellen and I like how it looks like a blue sky!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pacific Point) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower from Build-a-Flower Magnolia) Altenew, (Sentiment from Sentimental: Birthday) Winnie & Walter
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Citrus Burst, Maple Yellow, Honey Drizzle, Bamboo, Olive) Altenew

Pink Birthday Butterfly

Today's card is for The Colour Throwdown and the My Favourite Things sketch challenge.  Unfortunately I realise now that my cream card base looks pretty white in this photo (so it may not qualify for Colour Throwdown) but I figured I'd post it anyway.  I haven't used this MFT butterfly in ages and now I remember why - I never bought the matching dies and those little antennae are a pain in the butt to fussy cut!  I'm also going to play along with the Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Vintage Cream) Papertrey Ink, (Textured White) Bazzill, (Blushing Bride, Melon Mambo, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Butterfly from Beautiful Butterflies, Sentiment from Essential Sentiments) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Frosty Red, Rubellite) Altenew

Birthday Rainbow

Another card from yesterday's crafty session.  This one is for The Colour Throwdown challenge. This colour combo is definitely not one I'd ever choose for myself but I decided to be brave and go for it.  And you know what?  I'm pretty happy with the end product!  This is also the first time I've used that Essentials by Ellen rainbow die so I'm going to play along with Darnell's NBUS challenge too.  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Strawberry Slush, Daffodil Delight, Tempting Turquoise, Perfect Plum, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Cake and Candles) Avery Elle

Wool You Be Mine?

I've got another sweet pun and anadorable little kitty today for the Freshly Made SketchesColour Throwdown and Simon Says Wednesday (Anything Goes) challenges.  This set from Hero Arts is so cute and has 4 adorable kitties to choose from.  I wanted to add some texture to the card base with a knit type stamp or embossing folder but don't have anything like that so I went for this pattern from Lil' Inker Designs which was as close as I could get.  (And I like how it turned out!)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Dapper Denim) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Knitting) Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Rectangle) Spellbinders, Coverplate) Lil' Inker Designs
Markers:  (RV10, C1, C3) Copic

Butterfly Love

A quick CAS card for the My Favourite Things sketch challenge and the Colour Throwdown.  Now that I look at it on the screen I may have taken too much liberty with the sketch when I moved the stripes much closer together.  I might have to go back and revisit it if I have a chance.  I used a Neat & Tangled cover plate die for the black stripes and a favourite MFT butterfly die with a MFT sentiment stamped in Perfect Plum ink.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Vintage Cream) Papertrey Ink, (Perfect Plum, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamp:  (Sentiment from You Give Me Butterflies) My Favourite Things
Ink:   (Perfect Plum) Stampin' Up

Lots of Trees

I've got two more cards from yesterday's crafting session.  This one is for CAS Colours & Sketches and the Colour Throwdown.  I decided pretty quickly that I wanted to use trees for this sketch and first I made a card with stamped Hero Arts trees (see below).  Then I decided I wanted to try this challenge with Colour Throwdown but I couldn't find the right blue ink so I dug out these NBUS Neat & Tangled trees and some cardstock and used them instead.  Its amazing how completely different the two cards feel just by changing up the tree style and colours.  The second one feels much more whimsical to me but I also like the cool, graphic feel of the first one.  What do you think?

Supplies Used:

First Card:

Cardstock:  (Rustic Cream) Papertrey Ink, (Cajun Craze, Pool Party, Basic Black) Stampin' Up, (Blue) Bazzill
Stamp:  (Sentiment from Scandinavian Prints Christmas) Neat & Tangled

Embossing Powder: (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow

Framed Flower

Today's card is for the Colour Throwdown and Just Us Girls (Frame It) challenges.  Since I already had the Pinkfresh Floral Squares on my desk from my last card I decided to use a different one here.  This time I paper pieced the die cut with coloured card stock and backed it with a solid colour.  I originally reached for a white card base but I'm trying to push myself to put more of a dent in my coloured cardstock so I went for the blue instead.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Lucky Limeade, Baja Breeze, Midnight Muse, Rich Razzleberry) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Labeled Love) Mama Elephant
Inks:  (Rich Razzleberry) Stampin' Up

Colour Throwdown Guest Designer

I'm excited to be guest designing at The Colour Throwdown this week!  They have a bright and cheery colour combo for us to play with and I took my inspiration directly from the  photo.  How yummy and refreshing do those popsicles look?  My little popsicles are from a fun Reverse Confetti set and remind me of popsicle day at school.  In the summer term Friday was popsicle day and at lunch time you could buy one for 50 cents.  It never failed to entertain us watching each other's tongues turn red and orange and purple and someone always ended up with popsicle drips down the front of their uniform.  (Usually me if you ask my mum!)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Gumball Green, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Hey, Sugar) Reverse Confetti
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

Here For You Butterflies

I've got a card today for the new Colour Throwdown challenge where the colors are black, white and turquoise.  I was digging through some old stash and came across a set of die cut butterflies from Making Memories and decided they needed to be put to use.  I paired them up with some patterned paper from Basic Grey, a sentiment from Altenew and some black Nuvo dots.  I figured while I had them out I'd make a second card but with a yellow background this time using My Mind's Eye papers.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  (Blue from Adrift) Basic Grey, (Yellow from Lost & Found 6x6) My Mind's Eye
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Bamboo Roses) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Butterflies) Making Memories

You're Worth It

Today's card is for the Freshly Made Sketches and Colour Throwdown challenges.  I knew I wanted to use this My Mind's Eye paper for the CTD challenge so then I just had to decide what to use it with.  This Memory Box bird has been sitting on my desk for ages (along with a bunch of his friends in every colour of the rainbow) so I put him to work with an encouragement sentiment and am pleased with the result!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Breeze 6x6) My Mind's Eye
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Labeled Messages) Mama Elephant

Stacked Hearts & Diamonds

Today's card is for the Freshly Made Sketches and Colour Throwdown challenges.  I thought this Simon Says stacked hearts die would work perfectly for the funky sketch at Freshly Made and when using hearts why not use pink?  I cut the pattern out multiple times with different colours and then tried to scatter the heart colours randomly when I placed them back into the diecut.  I had so much fun that I decided to try it with another SSS die - the Stacked Diamonds.  I made this one with colours that could be a little more masculine to cover those hard to make guy cards.  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Regal Rose, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Bermuda Bay, Smokey Slate, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiments from Essential Sentiments and More Essential Sentiments) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow

All Squared Up Hello

This card is for the Colour Throwdown and CAS(E) This Sketch challenges.  I took a little liberty with the sketch (perhaps a little too much) and made it a landscape card instead of a portrait layout.  I stamped this fun patterned stamp from Avery Elle onto different colours of cardstock and then fussy cut them and adhered them to the card base.  The hello is a Paper Smooches die and I chose this one because I wanted a soft, round font to contrast with the sharp, geometric edges of the pattern.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green Night of Navy, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All fromAll Squared Up) Avery Elle
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Hello) Paper Smooches
