Birdies with Stripes

I've got two bright and cheery birthday cards today for the SugarPea Designs Mix It Up challenge where this time it's Anything Goes.  The Everyday Is Christmas set is inspired by the 12 Days of Christmas but the images can be used for any time of year which makes them all the more awesome.  I love this little birdie chirping away on his cellphone, delivering some birthday love!  I coloured him with Copics and paired him with some fun paper from We R Memory Keepers.  He's die cut with an SPD circle and he and the sentiment are popped up on foam tape.

I'm also going to enter these in the Anything Goes challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Merry Trees

Hello!  I'm back today with another Christmas card.  Usually by the time Christmas comes and goes I want a long break from holiday cards but for now the ideas are flowing so I'm going with it.

I started this card by using the layout from Freshly Made Sketches.  I then took inspiration from the colours and the trees over at The Heart Desires challenge.  I paired up Reverse Confetti tree and sentiment dies with these fun Fancy Pants papers that I've been hoarding for far too long.  I framed the trees with a cool dotted square die from Lil' Inker Designs.  The middle tree is popped up on foam tape and the Merry is covered with a nice thick coat of Glossy Accents.  Love it!

Santa Saw That

Yesterday was a pretty successful day of crafting so I'm excited to have posts for the next few days.

Today I'm playing along with the Essentials by Ellen Pin-Sights challenge and the Christmas theme challenge at The Male Room.  I was inspired by the red and white in many of the Pinterest photos as well as the many circular elements (wreaths, plates, bowls).  I used a stencil and some Smooch Spritz to create the background pattern.  Santa and the sentiment are from EBE's 'Tis the Season and they're both popped up on foam tape.

Cardstock:  (Watercolor) Ranger, (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up

CASology #229

Welcome to Week 229 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

It's less than a week until Christmas and two weeks until New Year's - definitely a time for plenty of toasting and celebrating!  I was going to break out some champagne glasses for this challenge but then I stumbled across this Paper Smooches stamp set and couldn't resist going for the punny option for my card!  I wanted the simple images and sentiment to really pop so I went for a bold red card base because, as we all know, white space doesn't have to be white.  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team and then play along!

CASology #228

Welcome to Week 228 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

At first glance this seems like a limited word but there are a number of ways to read it.  There's the obvious bow that I went for but there's also the bow of a ship, take a bow, bow and arrow or maybe even rainbow!  This bow is from Altenew and I used used a lighter version of the sentiment stamped multiple times behind it to help it pop a bit more.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team and then play along!

CASology #227

Welcome to Week 227 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This Paper Smooches stamp set is always the first to come to mind whenever I need something space themed.  I love that chubby little rocket ship!  :)  In the past I've always made the ship grey or silver but I wanted my get well card to be a little more cheery so I went for a lime green rocket this time.  You wouldn't be able to miss that streaking through space!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

Purple & Green

Hi there!  It's been a cold and blustery day today so after having a walk with Tex I scooted off to the Craft Cave for some inky time and I have two cards to share tonight.

First is inspired by  EK Gorman's card over at Muse.  I love that chicken and sentiment - they totally cracked me up!  I looked for something similarly funny but in the end I took my inspiration from the leaves surrounding the image.  They reminded me of the leaves from Altenew's Doodle Blooms so I pulled them out and used them to frame the sentiment on a simple thank you card.  I used Zigs to colour everything and popped the flower up on foam tape for a bit of dimension.  There's plenty of Wink of Stella on everything too.  I'm also going to enter this in the Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Flower & leaves from Doodle Blooms, Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks:  (Intense Black) Simon Says Stamp
Markers:  (41, 45, 81, 82, 83) Zig
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig
Gems:  Recollection

Next is a card for Freshly Made Sketches.  The stamps are all from Essentials by Ellen.  These stamps were everywhere last year but I didn't get them until this year so as usual I'm a little behind on the trend but I don't care because I love them.  I got a couple of other sets from last year too so you'll be seeing a lot of them.  Consider it a trip down memory lane!

Time for bed now.  Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!
