Skipping Stones April Stamp & Share Challenge

Hello and welcome to the April Skipping Stones Stamp & Share Challenge!  This month we have a sketch challenge for you.

For my card today I used a fun set from the last release - Hippo Birdie Two Ewe.  I love these adorable critters (that hippo especially makes me smile) and I thought they'd fit perfectly into the circles from the sketch.  I paper pieced all the animals and popped the circles up onto foam squares for a bit of dimension.

I hope you'll find time to play along especially as one lucky person will receive a Skipping Stones Design stamp set of their choice!  Skipping Stones stamps are NOT required to play along but if you have some we'd love to see them!  Be sure to check out the rest of the gorgeous inspiration from the design team and then get crafting!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Black) Papertrey Ink, (Blue) Bazzill, (Pink pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Very Vanilla, Chocolate Chip, Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Hippo Birdie Two Ewe) Skipping Stones Design
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Punches:  (2" & 2 1/2" circles) Marvy Uchida

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

Muse Birthday

Hello!  Another weekend has zoomed by at a phenomenal rate.  I'm still working on my 32 card special order.  Only 2 cards to go which I hope to be able to get done tomorrow.  I needed to take a break from those so I played along with Tracey McNeely's card over at Muse.  I stuck pretty close to her inspiration - big sentiment, stamped leaves and die cut flowers in bright colours.  All of my stamps and dies are Paper Smooches.  I love that big Happy Birthday die!  I broke out some Stickles for the centre of the flowers.  Stickles are one of those products that I tend to forget about because they're tucked away in a drawer but this recent video from Therese Calvird reminded me to pull them out and give them some love.  :)  Seize the Birthday is having an Anything Goes challenge so I am going to play along with them as well.

Mother's Day Butterflies

Hi there!  I'm popping in today with a set of Mother's Day cards.  They were relatively quick and simple to put together so I made a few in each colour since I'm getting lots of requests for Mother's Day.  The coloured Lil' Inker stitched mat is the same colour as the dark ink on each of the Altenew butterflies (except for the yellow) and the sentiment is from Fresh Squeezed Stamps.  I'm going to play along with a few challenges with these cards:

Addicted to Stamps and More - Photo inspiration
The Paper Players - CAS butterflies
Just Add Ink - Just Add M

Have a lovely day!

CASology #194

Welcome to Week 194 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Mother's Day is fast approaching and I have a number of special order cards to make for that particular day so this challenge came along at a good time for me.  Our sponsor this week is Stamplorations and they were kind enough to send us each a Mother's Day stamp to work with.  I stamped my image onto rose red cardstock and cut it with a Lil' Inkers Stitched Rectangle die.  I then cut a PTI heart from the panel and layered it onto 3 other hearts before popping it back into place.  I really like this technique because it adds depth and interest without getting too busy.  I made another card with the same layout but using a few different colours.  Can't decide which one I like the best...

Your turn now!  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

Brusho Flowers

Hi there!  My card today was inspired by Anita's card over at Muse.  Like Anita I used Brushos to create my background.  Brushos, where have you been all my life??  This stuff is awesome and so fun and easy to use!  The patterns you end up with are so cool.  I'm loving it!  Anyway I created a coloured panel and then die cut a Simon Says flower die from it.  The die cut flower was too pretty to waste so I made a second card with it.  I'm also going to enter this card in the CAS on Sunday Flowers challenge and the Addicted to CAS Inlaid Dies challenge.

CASology #193

Welcome to Week 193 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

My mind kept going to baby cards when I thought about the cue word this week - pink for girls and blue for boys.  (I think I had Hazel's adorable baby card from last week on my mind!)  I love this Martha Stewart punch for baby cards and I dug out a positively ancient piece of patterned paper to use with it.  (I think it's from 2008 or so.)  I felt very pleased with myself for using it - even if only a tiny bit of it!

Looking forward to seeing your lovely pink creations.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

Sympathy Flowers

Hi there!  I'm working on a 32-card special order at the moment and 2 of those need to be sympathy cards.  Just Add Ink is looking for sympathy cards this week and I used the photo from Fusion for inspiration.  The photo immediately made me think of Papertrey Ink's Gracious Vases set but I ended up using the little cluster of flowers instead of the orchid image.  I am loving the Stitched Arches dies from MFT - they make such fun little frames!  Gotta dash and get dinner going.  Have a lovely evening!

Skipping Stones Design Stamp Tramps Blog Hop

Hello and welcome to the monthly Skipping Stones Design Stamp Tramps Blog Hop!
You should have arrived here from the Skipping Stones Design Blog.

For today's card I used the Birthday Purses stamp set.  It has 3 fabulous purse images and plenty of SSD's signature funny sentiments.  After heat embossing the purse onto watercolor paper I used Worn Lipstick Distress Ink to create the ombre colours.  I decided that a sassy bag needed some sassy patterns and colours to go along with it so I paired some fun black & white patterned paper with lime green paper cut with a burst die.  It really makes it pop!  I mounted the purse with foam tape and highlighted the sentiment with some gems and was done!

Okay, time to get hopping.  Your next stop is Larissa's blog.  Be sure to leave comments along the way to be entered in the giveaway and check out the Skipping Stones Design Store to see all the fabulous stamp sets!

CASology #192

Welcome to Week 192 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Every time I see this cue word the old jingle about the Jolly Green Giant and Little Green Sprout pops into my head.  Shows how old I am!!  Because of that I had planned to work some veggies into my card but I got distracted by these little Paper Smooches flowers sprouting from their pots and here we are.

And now it's your turn.  Be sure to check out all the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the Design Team and then play along with us!
