CASology #341

Welcome to Week 341 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I find that sometimes a cue word with broad possibilities is harder to create for than a specific one because I can never seem to settle on a final choice.  Eventually though I decided this cue gave me the perfect opportunity to finally ink up this new (to me) Altenew flower and to combine it with an old Altenew favourite (Halftone Circles).  Initially I made this as a one layer card but then decided I wanted some more dimension so I die cut the flower and popped it up on foam tape.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Mother's Day Butterfly

Hello!

I've got another card to share that I made yesterday.  This one is for Freshly Made Sketches and CAS on Friday.  Of all my butterfly dies I go back to these Papertrey Ink ones the most often. They come in two different sizes and are easy to layer.  I used some (ancient) Crate Paper patterned paper for the butterfly and the background panel.  Tiny piece by tiny piece it will eventually all get used!  (Hey, it's good to have a dream right?)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  ((White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up!
Patterned Paper:  (Lillian Collection 12x12) Crate Paper
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Extra Special) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko,

Colour Block Flowers

Hi there!

It's been a gorgeous weekend here and I actually went for a long swim today!  Usually Bermudians don't set foot in the water before May 24th but I needed to put the annual rental sticker on our mooring buoy (which is an awkward thing to do without a boat).  Despite the bad words uttered when I first hit the (freezing!) water it was fine once we got moving.  My friend and I swam out and sorted out the sticker and then went a little further out to an island in the harbour.  We puttered around there for a while before heading back to the house.  It really was lovely and I need to do it more often.

I spent a little bit of time in my craft room this afternoon and made cards for a few challenges.  This one is for CAS Colours and Sketches and The Colour Throwdown. I used Paper Smooches die cuts with a Cas-ual Fridays sentiment and added a few Nuvo drops for some fun.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Midnight Muse, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Casual Elegance) Cas-ual Fridays
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Dainty Flowers, Foliage 3) Paper Smooches, (Long Classic Rectangles Large) Spellbinders
Markers:  (R02, E33, E35, E51) Copic
Other:  (Nuvo Navy Blue Crystal Drops) Tonic

CASology #340

Welcome to Week 340 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

When I saw the cue word for this week the first thing that came to mind was a safari.  I have tons of stamps of animals you might see on safari but one of my favourites is this (now retired) giraffe from Avery Elle.  I love the little grin on his face and how he's perfectly angled to peek onto a card to deliver a message!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #339

Welcome to Week 339 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I went a little outside the box with the cue word this week because what came to mind was Neil Armstrong's quote from the moon landing:

That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind.

That led me to dig around for a moon image and I found this NBUS one from SugarPea Designs that was sorely in need of inking up.

CASology #338

Welcome to Week 338 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I certainly put together more than my fair share of these plastic cones while I worked at the animal hospital and always felt bad for any animal that had to wear one.  Thankfully there are other more comfortable options these days but sometimes only one of the old plastic cones will do the trick!

CASology #337

Welcome to Week 337 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This week's cue made me think of being a kid with that feeling of being so excited about something that you feel like you could burst and Paper Smooches had the perfect stamp set for that idea.  It's a silly sentiment but fun too.  I kept the card simple with some good old paper piecing (which PS stamps really lend themselves to) and popped the images up on foam tape for some dimension.
