CASology #379

Welcome to Week 379 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Okay I'm really reaching with the cue word this week. I'm pretty sure I don't have any wheat images in my stash so I knew I'd have to think outside the box.  First I considered a "This deserves a toast" sentiment with a slice of toast but I've done a similar design for CASology before.  In the end I went for beer.  Now I'm not a beer drinker but I know there are some beers made with wheat.  (I even googled it to double check I wasn't crazy).  I was going to use white Liquid Applique to make the beer foam puffy but apparently that stuff doesn't last forever because my white Liquid Applique is now decidedly brown!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Congrats Tags

I haven't played along with Shopping Out Stash in forever but their current challenge is UFOs - UnFinished Objects.  There is a perpetual pile of odds and ends on my desk so this forced me to dig in and try and make use of some of it.  This shiny, stacked congrats diecut has been sitting there for awhile along with an open package of tags from Fancy Pants.  I thought the colorful tags would make a fun background for the sentiment.  Further digging led me to this twine bow and with the addition of some foam tape and black stripes I had a card in no time!

Congrats Banners

I've got a card today for Freshly Made Sketches and Just Us Girls (Use 2 or more different patterned papers).  I knew I wanted to use dies for this sketch but I spent quite awhile digging around before I finally came across these Reverse Confetti banners.  I paired them up with some of my favourite My Mind's Eye papers and then added this Honey Bee congrats.  Originally I planned to use black cardstock but then I went for Bermuda Bay which really made the turquoise in the papers pop.

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Bermuda Bay) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Reunion 6x6) My Mind's Eye

CASology #350

Welcome to Week 350 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This adorable little Neat & Tangled ocean background has been sitting around unused for far too long so I was thrilled to have the perfect opportunity to put it to use this week!  The Simon Says Stamp whale is a match made in heaven for it and the Reverse Confetti sentiment rounds out the design beautifully.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Congrats on Your Adventure

Hello!

Its been another busy week without much crafty time but I managed to make a few cards today.  First up is for the Lawn Fawnatics sketch challenge and the Inkspirational Adventure challenge.  I dithered about the sentiment for ages but finally went with congrats as the hot air balloon signifies movement and covers a lot of bases  - congrats on your move, your new job, your graduation, etc. - and all of those things could be considered adventures of sorts.

CASology #337

Welcome to Week 337 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This week's cue made me think of being a kid with that feeling of being so excited about something that you feel like you could burst and Paper Smooches had the perfect stamp set for that idea.  It's a silly sentiment but fun too.  I kept the card simple with some good old paper piecing (which PS stamps really lend themselves to) and popped the images up on foam tape for some dimension.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #317

Welcome to Week 317 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

My card today reflects something I get grief about whenever I order it from a menu.  Yes, I am one of those people chefs hate - I like my steak well done and I make no apologies for that!  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

High Five or Fist Bump?

Hi there!

I'm popping in quickly with a card for the AAA Cards Use a Frame challenge.  I have a few different frame dies from Paper Smooches (which I'm pretty sure have never seen the light of day) so I pulled one out for this challenge and cut it out with some striped paper.  The stamps are from Pinkfresh and I LOVE them!  I am a sucker for any cat or dog image and this set has quite a few in it.  I thought these guys looked like they could be high 5ing (or maybe even fist bumping) so the congrats sentiment seemed the most appropriate.

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink

Stamps:  (All from Playful Animal Friends 2) Pinkfresh Studio

CASology #307

Welcome to Week 307 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

It's definitely that time of year (in the Northern hemisphere anyway) to be zooming around in a convertible with the top down.  Now to find a convertible...  This one from Paper Smooches is super cute and I paired it with a sentiment from PS's very first release way back in the day.  Some stamps will never get old.  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #305

Welcome to Week 305 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I'm late to the action wobble game but I thought this Paper Smooches monster would give me the perfect opportunity to try one out.  Yup.  He's awesome and no, I'm sorry, I don't have a little video of it or even a photo.  You'll just have to imagine him springing back and forth like a lunatic.  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Smooches & Possums

Hello there!

I have been suffering with severe lack of mojo for ages now so have just been focusing on keeping up with CASology cards.  Today I finally managed to get some challenge cards made so the mojo misery may finally be lifting!

First up is card using the sketch at CAS Colours and Sketches and the theme of Love from CAS on Friday.   I was after this Lil' Inker Smooches stamp set for ages and finally got my paws on it.  It kept going out of stock and I was never quick enough to order it before it ran out again.  I stamped it with Altenew ink and then stamped over it with VersaMark and applied clear embossing powder so it's got some gloss to it.  I love it!  It was well worth the wait.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Lips & Muah from Smooches) Lil' Inker Designs, (I love you from Hug Me) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Coral Berry) Altenew
Embossing Powder:  (Clear( Hero Arts
Other:  (Nuvo Morning Dew Crystal Drops) Tonic

This card uses the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches and I'm also playing along with the Addicted to Stamps and More CAS challenge.  I've used more Lil' Inker NBUS here with the adorable Hey, Awesome stamps and Seriously Awesome die.  Super cute and simple and I scattered some Nuvo drops around it all.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay, Smokey Slate, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Possum & sentiment from Hello, Awesome) Lil' Inker Deisgns
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Industrial Diamond) Altenew
Dies:  (Awesome) Lil' Inker Designs
Other:  (Nuvo Oyster Grey Crystal Drops) Tonic
