Triangle Thank You

Hi there!

I'm popping in with a card for the Just Add Ink colour challenge.  I went for a simple graphic look using some MFT triangles and a Paper Smooches sentiment.  I layered the sentiment die 3 times and covered it with Glossy Accents to really make it pop - one of my fave techniques.  I finished it off with some Nuvo drops to frame the sentiment and voila!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pear Pizzazz, Coastal Cabana, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Triangles) My Favourite Things, (Sentiment) Paper Smooches

CAS Flower Birthday

Good morning!

I have a card today for the Flower Challenge's CAS challenge.  I love the gorgeous simplicity of this Altenew flower.  The yellow background comes from their Watercolor Frames set and I love how it helps to pop the flower off of the page.  I decided since I had everything out I'd make the card in blue as well.  The colours came out a bit crisper on the second one but I also like the softness of the first one.  What do you think?

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Flower, Frame from Watercolor Frames) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, Altenew
Other:  (Nuvo Oyster Grey Crystal Drops) Tonic

CASology #354

Welcome to Week 354 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

We don't very often get weather related fog in Bermuda but I certainly suffer from pre-coffee fog in the morning.  This little bee looks just how I feel most days and I think that sentiment is spot on - steer clear until the coffee has kicked in!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Harmony Hedgehog

Hello!

I've got a card to share for two challenges today - Just Add Ink (Just Add "H") and Simon Says Wednesday (Christmas/Happy Holidays).  This is a triple "H" card with harmony, holidays and a hedgehog!  This Penny Black hedgie has been with me for a long time but this may be his first time getting inked up.  (Shame on me!)  Both the Hero Arts sentiment (also an oldie but goodie) and the Jillibean Soup paper seem tailor-made for this little guy.  I went with a yellow card base to show everything is lit up by his little lantern.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Holly Berry Borscht 6x6) Jillibean Soup
Stamps:  (Hedgehog) Penny Black, (Shadow from Shadows) Paper Smooches, (Sentiment from Very Merry Christmas) Hero Arts

Designer Paper Anxiety

Hello hello!

I've got a card for three challenges today - Just Us Girls (designer paper), The Paper Players (Grateful/Thankful) and Pinkfresh Studio (circle elements).

I LOVE designer paper.  On my shelf.  Where I can flip through it and admire it and imagine all the cards I'd make with it.  But generally things stop right there.  Because what if I cut it wrong?  Or what if I use that gorgeous piece of paper and the card turns out to be crap?  Or what if I have a Laurie Willison Nuvo drops disaster??  Its far safer to just leave it on the shelf where I can't ruin it.

This is why I need challenges like the one from JUGS to use designer paper.  It forces me to take the plunge and let that paper have its moment in the sun.  This card took a ridiculously long time to put together.  I had to check and recheck that the circle dies were in the right place before I cranked it through the old Cricut.  I agonized over the ink colours for the cats (and now I wish I'd gone with a reddy/orange one for the middle).  I dithered for ages over whether the sentiment should go at the top or the bottom.  But I did it.  I used that piece of DP.  And you know what?  I still have half a billion pieces left so I think I'll be okay.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  Pinkfresh Studios
Stamps:  (All from Playful Animal Friends 2) Pinkfresh Studios
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko, (Tiara, Lime Rickey, Aquatini) Catherine Pooler

Yay! Yay! Yay!

Hiya!

I've got another card from my crafty day yesterday.  This one is for Freshly Made Sketches and Seize the Birthday (Toppings: Geometric shapes).  I had a pile of these adorable MFT chicks stamped, cut out and sitting on my desk so I decided to make use of them.  I did some Copic colouring and then popped them up on foam tape in their little boxes.  I love when things come together so easily!

Striped Thanks

Hi there!

After missing out on the fun of World Card Making Day yesterday I made up for it as best I could today.  I managed to get quite a few cards made for challenges and also just for fun.  Tonight I'm sharing a card for The Card Concept (my card is Clean and Layered) and Addicted to Stamps and More (Anything Goes).  I was inspired by the bright yellow flowers in the blue and white striped vase and was excited to finally put this gorgeous Altenew flower to use.  I popped it up on foam tape and added a twine bow which seemed to go along perfectly with the rustic feel of the photo.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower from Handpicked Bouquet, Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow, Honey Drizzle, Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Evergreen) Altenew

CASology #353

Welcome to Week 353 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Today's cue word gave me a good excuse to dig out these WPlus9 feathers which haven't seen any use in ages.  I kept things simple with an ombre colour palette and then added some Nuvo drops for a little embellishment on the feathers.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!
