Mother's Day Butterfly

Hello!

I've got another card to share that I made yesterday.  This one is for Freshly Made Sketches and CAS on Friday.  Of all my butterfly dies I go back to these Papertrey Ink ones the most often. They come in two different sizes and are easy to layer.  I used some (ancient) Crate Paper patterned paper for the butterfly and the background panel.  Tiny piece by tiny piece it will eventually all get used!  (Hey, it's good to have a dream right?)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  ((White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up!

Hello hello!

Today I'm playing along with two challenges - the Paper Smooches Birthday challenge and the Time Out Inspired By Words challenge.  I used some NBUS Paper Smooches dies (cat, mouse and paint stroke) and an old favourite Lil' Inker Designs die (balloon) along with some bright and busy patterned paper to create this little number.  Very different from my usual CAS fare but sometimes I like to get a little crazy!  :)

You Make My Heart Full

Hi there!  I've got a quick and easy CAS card today inspired by the maps over at The Heart Desires challenge.  I thought these Lil' Inker stamps needed to be paired with car themed paper and I found this perfect piece in Crate Paper's The Open Road 6x6.  I stamped the fuel gage on a Taylored Expressions heart and popped it up on foam tape over the paper then I added the sentiment and some gems.  Easy peasy and I love it!

Unicorn, Flowers & a Piggy

Another weekend has come and gone far too quickly and it's back to the grind.  I've got three cards to share today from my crafty time over the weekend.  First is based on the sketch at My Favourite Things.  Those chubby little MFT unicorns are so darn cute!  I think this set is going to see a lot of ink.  I coloured the unicorn and the rainbow with Copics, keeping everything really soft and subtle and because of that I'm also entering this in the CAS on Sunday pastel challenge

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Bashful Blue) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Magical Unicorns) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Stitched frame) Reverse Confetti
Markers:  (RV000, YR00, Y00, G00, B00, BV00, C1, C5) Copic
Gems:  Recollections

Next is a card inspired by the photo at Addicted to Stamps and More.  I created the background with Brushos (inspired by the colours on the wall in the photo) and then layered on some Essentials by Ellen flower dies and an Altenew sentiment.  I love the spotty look the Brushos leave when you don't spritz them too much.  Such a fun product!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Watercolor) Ranger, (Black) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Bejeweled) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Wild Garden) Essentials by Ellen
Colour:  (Alizarin Crimson, Turquoise, Violet) Brusho
Gems:  Recollections

Finally I have a card for the Just Add Ink challenge to "Just Add P".  I went with this cute little MFT piggy and I paper pieced him for a double "P"!

Time to jet off to work.  Have a wonderful day!

Cardstock:  (Textured White) Bazzill, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Party Day 6x6) Crate Paper

Teacups & Cupcakes

I've got two more cards to share from yesterday's time in the Craft Cave.  Oh and speaking of the CC I forgot to mention this.  The air conditioning unit for the Cave wouldn't work on Wednesday after having been perfectly fine on Tuesday.  We finally got someone down to look at it yesterday and discovered that a lizard had gotten inside it and electrocuted himself which shorted out the unit.  Poor guy was totally fried!  Not sure what possessed him to go in there as he's lived around that corner of the house for years.  I'll miss seeing him hanging out on the wall doing his push ups.  :(

Anyway, back to the cards.  The first one was inspired by the photo at The Card Concept and I'd say it's a Clean and Layered design.  Lots of different companies on show here - Paper Smooches tea cup, Lil' Inkers flower, Fresh Squeezed Stamps sentiment and My Favourite Things patterned paper.  Love when they all play so nicely together!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pink Pirouette, Pretty in Pink, Coastal Cabana) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Calm & Cozy Chevron 6x6) My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (Teacup from Cyber Cafe) Paper Smooches, (Sentiment from You Said It Sister) Fresh Squeezed Stamps
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Soft Granite) Hero Arts
Die:  (Stitched Arch STAX) My Favourite Things, (Stitched Flower) Lil' Inker Designs
Gems:  Recollections

My second card was inspired by the design at Freshly Made Sketches.  Some Crate Paper papers, My Favourite Things dies and Mama Elephant cupcake and sentiment came together for this one.  Yay for more happy colours and patterns!
That's it for now. Have a lovely day!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Crisp Cantaloupe, Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up

Gifts, Gators and Kites

Hi there!  I've barely been in the Craft Cave at all in the last week but I found a little bit of time to sneak in there today.  I made 3 cards for 5 challenges.

First up I combined the Addicted to CAS Gift challenge with the CAS on Sunday sketch challenge and came up with this little number.  The patterned papers are from an old Crate Paper collection.  The gifts and sentiment are Reverse Confetti and the Wonky Stitched Circle die is from My Favourite Things.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  (Lillian collection) Crate Paper
Stamps:  (Gifts & sentiment from Monkey Business) Reverse Confetti
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Wonky Stitched Circles Die-namics) My Favourite Things
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card for the Stampin' Celebration inspiration challenge.  I was inspired by the blues and greens, the flags in the top right picture and the kraft background in the bottom right picture.  I used my favourite Reverse Confetti alligator and some RC banners along with Newton's Nook sentiments.  I'm also going to enter it in the  Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Kraft) Papertrey Ink, (Lucky Limeade, Island Indigo) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Alligator from Later Gator, Hat from Monkey Business) Reverse Confetti, (Sentiment from Shark Bites) Newton's Nook
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Banners) Reverse Confetti
Marker:  (Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up

Finally a simple card for the Paper Players colour challenge.  The polaroid frame has been in my scrap pile for a while so I was glad to use it.  The Taylored Expressions kite die is NBUS, the cloud is Lil' Inkers and the sentiment is Altenew.  It's perfect for this time of year as Good Friday is kite flying day in Bermuda!  A long weekend with kites, hot cross buns and codfish cakes.  Yummy yummy!  Fingers crossed for sunshine and a good breeze.

That's all for today.  Have a lovely evening!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Textured White) Bazzill, (Calypso Coral, Bermuda Bay) Stamping' Up

Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Superfine) Wow

Skipping Stones Tip/Technique Blog Hop

Hi there!  I'm excited today to take part in my first Tip/Technique Blog Hop as part of theSkipping Stones Design Team.  Each team member will share a card along with a tip or technique for designing or even organization.

I have a couple of tips in regards to this card.  When I'm having trouble coming up with a design idea I'll sometimes flip through my 6x6 patterned paper pads and see if anything sparks my interest.  I found this adorable sky with doily clouds and immediately thought of the hot air balloons from the Uplifting set.  I'm not the most confident when it comes to coloring so I tend to do a lot of paper piecing just like I did here with the balloons.  My #1 tip for paper piecing is to outline your images with a black marker once you've cut them out.  It helps to provide a crisp edge that allows the images to really pop.  The sentiment is taken from Heartsong 2.

Be sure to visit everyone along the hop and leave some love as one lucky commenter will win a stamp set.  Why not have a browse in the Skipping Stones Design Store too - just in case you're the lucky winner!  ;)

Birthdays & Bees

Hi there!  Just popping in before I head off to work to share a couple of cards.  First up is an entry for the Just Add Ink sketch challenge.  I used Crate Paper patterned paper and a Lil' Inker die.  Once I finally decided which papers to use the card came together pretty quickly.  Another card checked off for the 50 card order!

My second card is for the Paper Players colour challenge.  This one came together pretty quickly as well - one of those ones that actually ends up looking the way I imagined it.  Love when that happens!  The Paper Smooches bumble bee is an NBUS (from their first release I think) but the PS Santa hat and the Papertrey merry have seen a lot of use over the years.  Okay must dash off to work now.  Have a lovely day!

Awesome Butterfly

Good morning!  Just popping in before I jet off to work with a last minute entry for Just Add Ink's inspiration photo challenge.  I love the pop of pink in the bedroom photo and also wanted to include a butterfly.  I used a subtle geometric pattern (like on the bedsheets) for the bottom layer of the butterfly.  The background was created by adding Rose Red ink to embossing paste and using a Crafter's Workshop stencil.  Love the fun texture of that embossing paste!  I'm also going to play along with the CAS on Sunday Girl Power challenge.    Later, gators!

ETA:  Totally meant to enter this into the Virginia's View All Things Embossed challenge.
