Stencil & Butterflies

The card is for the Just Add Ink and AAA Birthday challenges.  At JAI we are to "Just Add Two" - 2 choices from Stencils-Pencils-Patterned Paper.  I went with stencils and patterned paper.  I've had this embossing paste stenciled background on my desk for ages - so excited to finally use it!  I cut some PTI butterflies (things with wings for AAA!) out from patterned paper and cardstock and popped them up on foam tape.  The sentiment is from Mama Elephant.

Stamps:  (Sentiment from Labeled Messages) Mama Elephant

Stencil Cupcake

Ages ago I decorated a few card bases with texture paste and different stencils.  They're still sitting on my desk and the current Addicted to CAS challenge (Texture) gave me the perfect opportunity to put one to use.  I thought this particular one would make a fun frame for an image.  The pink seemed celebratory so I went for this yummy Altenew cupcake and sentiment which are popped up on foam tape for some dimension.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (All from Layered Cupcake) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow) Altenew, (Fiesta Blue, Something Borrowed) Catherine Pooler, Regal Rose, Soft Suede) Stampin' Up

Giraffes, Trees & Planes

Thank you for all the love, thoughts and prayers you've sent out to Luis and me.  We're both still feeling very raw and more than a little lost without Atticus as I'm sure we will for a while.  Today we've been trying to keep busy - Luis puttering around in the yard and me in the Craft Cave.  I have 3 cards to share but probably not much chatter.

First up is for the Colour Me challenge using a Papertrey cover plate and Altenew stamps.

Dies:  (Horizontal Stripe Cover Plate) Papertrey Ink
Markers:  (YR68, E08) Copic

Next is a card for the Muse challenge.  I was inspired by the layout of Tracey's card and the tree and banner.  All products are Paper Smooches.

Flowers & Skyscrapers

Hi there!  Luis was out all day at a work party so I armed myself with a huge cup of coffee and locked myself in the Craft Cave until he called me to pick him up.  It was fabulous!  I'm going to share 3 of the cards tonight and then more over the next couple of days.

First up is my card for the Muse challenge.  I stuck pretty closely to Anita's inspiration because I thought it was gorgeous.  I love the gold and turquoise together especially the splattered gold over the top of the stencil.  I didn't do any splattering but instead added some gems to my flower.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up, (Gold)
Inks:  (Peacock Feathers Distress Ink) Ranger
Dies:  (Thank You) Avery Elle, (Flower) Mama Elephant
Stencil:  The Crafter's Workshop
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card using the Colour Throwdown palette and the design from Freshly Made Sketches.  FMS is celebrating their 200th sketch!  Whoop whoop! I only discovered them fairly recently but I am really enjoying playing along with them.  I paired up some CAS-ual Fridays, Avery Elle and Mama Elephant dies with an Altenew sentiment.  Love how well they all play together!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pumpkin Pie, Cucumber Crush, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Paste:  (Seafoam White) Ranger
Dies:  (Leaves) CAS-ual Fridays, (Flower from Fill in the Blank Icons) Avery Elle, (Curved line) Mama Elephant
Gems:  Recollections

Last but not least is a card using the Freshly Made Sketches design again but this time with the palette from Colour Me.  I dusted off my Die-namics Skyline Border from My Favourite Things and and the Starburst Background from Hero Arts - both oldies (but very underused) goodies!  And that's it for tonight.  Hope all you had a wonderful weekend!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Sophie's Sentiments) Lawn Fawn, (Starburst Background) Hero Arts

Cool Summer

Hi there!  I'm popping in this evening with 2 cards for 4 challenges.  First up is this yummy ice cream cone for the CAS Summer Treats challenge at The Paper Players and the AAA Cards Paste and/or Stencil Technique challenge.  I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil and embossing paste to create the dotty background. I really love the fun texture it adds to the card.  Then I paper pieced a retired Sweet Stamp Shop ice cream, added a sentiment and some gems and I was done!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Cone & sentiment from Cool School) Sweet Stamp Shop
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Rose Red) Stampin' Up
Stencil:  The Crafter's Workshop
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card using the inspiration photo from Curtain Call paired with the sketch from ShowCASe Your Style.  I used a few different patterned papers, some Lifestyle Crafts Flip Flops and a sentiment from Fresh Squeezed Stamps (which, sadly, is now closed).  That's it for me tonight.  Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with a few more cards.  Have a lovely evening!

Cupcakes & Dinosaurs

Monday morning is upon us again already.  *Sigh*  Why do the weekends always go by at warp speed?  Ah well, it was a good weekend even if it was too quick.  I have two cards for several challenges to share with you today so lets get right to it!

First up is a card inspired by the photo over at Addicted to Stamps. All those bright colours and the yummy cupcakes in the upper right corner led me to this bright and cheery birthday card.  The pattern in the background was created with tinted embossing paste and a Crafter's Workshop stencil.  I'm also playing along again with the Little Tangles Anything Goes challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  (My Girl 6x6) American Crafts
Stamps:  (Cupcake & sentiment from Sketchy Cupcakes) Neat & Tangled
Inks: (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Rose Red) Stampin' Up
Stencil:  (Mini Well Rounded) The Crafter's Workshop
Embossing Paste:  Wendy Vecchi
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card for three challenges.  I used the Colour Me colours and kept the design really CAS so am joining in with AAA Cards' Bare Naked CAS challenge.  All the stamps are from Paper Smooches so I'll also be entering it in the PS Sparks Anything Goes challenge.  I masked and inked the background with various Distress Inks, paper pieced Mr. Dinosaur and then popped him up on foam tape.  I finished it off by curving the sentiment and adding a few gems.  Have a lovely day and I'll see you tomorrow!

Awesome Butterfly

Good morning!  Just popping in before I jet off to work with a last minute entry for Just Add Ink's inspiration photo challenge.  I love the pop of pink in the bedroom photo and also wanted to include a butterfly.  I used a subtle geometric pattern (like on the bedsheets) for the bottom layer of the butterfly.  The background was created by adding Rose Red ink to embossing paste and using a Crafter's Workshop stencil.  Love the fun texture of that embossing paste!  I'm also going to play along with the CAS on Sunday Girl Power challenge.    Later, gators!

ETA:  Totally meant to enter this into the Virginia's View All Things Embossed challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Notes & Things 6x6) Crate Paper

Confetti Celebration

Hi there!  Popping in with a quick post before I dash off to work.  I'm playing along today with two challenges - Cure for the Monday Blues and Cupcake Inspirations Confetti.  I took my colours from the Cure challenge (the yellow package with the big pink bow) and the confetti idea from the cupcake challenge. This Crafter's Workshop stencil totally makes me think of confetti so I added some Rose Red ink to some embossing paste and covered my card base with it. The Mama Elephant panda looks like he's always ready for a party so I thought he's be the perfect guy to celebrate with!  Okay, time to go.  Have a lovely weekend!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White Card Base) Handy Hippo, (Other White) Bazzill
Stamps:  (Panda from Pandamonium, Sentiment Bubble from Hello) Mama Elephant

Bright & Cheery Thank You

Hello hello!  After a day of non-stop rain yesterday it's cool, dry and breezy today. We took Atti for a good long walk and then Luis started puttering around in the yard while I headed for the Craft Cave.  This card came together really quickly.  I had been playing around with some embossing paste the other day and had embossed the yellow pattern on the card but then wasn't quite sure what to do with it so I put it aside. Thankfully the Colour Me challenge was kind enough to provide a colour palette that included Daffodil Delight so I pulled out the card and got to work.  The lined pattern in the Colour Me picture made me think of this My Cute Stamps flower.  The little butterfly was also in the set so I added him to the mix.  They're the perfect images for a bright and cheery card which is what the Paper Players are calling for in their Think Spring challenge so I'll be joining them as well.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Melon Mambo, Calypso Coral, Tempting Turquoise, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower & butterfly from Celebrate Today) My Cute Stamps, (Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks: (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Daffodil Delight) Stampin' Up
Punch:  (1/8" circle punch) McGill
Stencil:  (Mini Well Rounded) The Crafter's Workshop
Embossing Paste:  Wendy Vecchi
