CAS(E) This Sketch #79

Welcome to Week 79 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch by Chrissy Larson:

I broke out another of my new PTI dies for this week's card and used the inlaid die technique.  I needed some help with colours so I turned to the ColourQ challenge for some inspiration.  It's a great masculine palette and now that I'm looking at it I'm thinking I should have used "Father's Day" instead of "birthday" for the sentiment.  Guess I'll have to make a few more...

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Tangerine Tango, Old Olive, Bashful Blue, Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Birthday from Super Script) Altenew
Inks:  ( Tangerine Tango) Stampin' Up
Die:  (Happy) Papertrey Ink

CASology #98

Welcome to Week 98 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This was a tough card to get a picture of and, even now, what is a spray of shine in real life looks a bit like a blob of colour here.  However, it is what it is.  I'm still getting the hang of those mists but I' having fun playing with them in the mean time.  I can't wait to see how your cards shine this week!  Check out the always amazing inspiration front he design team and then play along!

Luck, Peace & Happiness

I don't play along with the Runway Inspired Challenge very often.  I always plan to and I add the closing date to my challenge list and print out the photo to keep on my desk but then I freeze up.  I'm a little intimidated by the amazing design team and after looking at their cards it's like those are the only designs that will come into my head.  Once in a while though I get clobbered by an idea immediately.  The pattern on this skirt made me think of this Studio Calico paper and the dog (a chow, I think) sent me searching for my Ori Kami stamps.  This card came together really quickly after that which is so exciting!  I love when that happens!  Yay for cooperating mojo!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Smokey Slate, Brushed Gold)  Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Darling Dear 6x6) Studio Calico
Stamps:  (Bird and sentiment from Ori Kami) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

CAS(E) This Sketch #78

Welcome to Week 78 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch by Julie Day:

I hadn't ordered anything from Papertrey Ink in ages but last week I finally broke down and did some shopping.  And guess what?  Everything arrived on Tuesday!  It was exactly a week from ordering until I had those goodies in my hot little hands.  That is unheard of especially over a holiday weekend!  Clearly the crafty gods were rewarding me for having been restrained for so long.  :D  Anyway I mention this because the sentiment on the card is one of my new stamps.  (An older PTI stamp but new to me).  I paired it with this fun Avery Elle border in two shades of purple but the sentiment felt like it needed a little something else so I spotlight stamped part of it on Sahara Sand cardstock.  I really like how it looks!  A little something extra without being too overwhelming.  And now it's your turn to take a crack at the sketch.  Check out the gorgeous designs from the rest of the team and then get crafting'!

The colours I used are from CAS on Sunday's colour challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder, Sahara Sand) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Border from All Squared Up) Avery Elle, (Sentiment from Birthday Style) Papertrey Ink
Inks:  ( VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Perfect Plum, Wisteria Wonder) Stampin' Up
Punch:  (1 1/4" circle) EK Success

Birthday Panda

I have finally broken out my Pandamonium set from Mama Elephant.  Those little guys are seriously cute.  I thought this one looked like he might be hanging on to something for dear life so I attached him to this balloon and gave him a cloudy background to fly along in.  The layout is courtesy of LeAnne's sketch at the Paper Players and since this is a birthday card I thought I'd play along with the Seize the Birthday challenge.

Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Smokey Slate)  Stampin' Up

Totes The Best

***This is my second card for the day.  For my Colour Throwdown card please scroll down or click here***

Hi again!  I'm back with a card for the CASE Study challenge.  My inspiration came pretty much entirely from the layout of Wida's card.  I like the strip of black and white stripes in the background and the stacked sentiments.  I used some wide washi tape for my background and then layered up a rainbow of speech bubbles with Paper Smooches sentiments on top of it.  I'm pretty pleased with how it came out - a bright and fun card for a cool kid!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Real Red, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Old Olive, Pacific Point, Rich Razzleberry)  Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Seriously, Totes, The best evan from Slang Gang, You're from Good Gab, Friend from Chit Chat) Paper Smooches
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Word Bubbles) Paper Smooches
