Quartet

Hi there!  I have a quartet of cards to share today for 9 different challenges so I'm going to get straight into it.  First up is a card for the Addicted to Stamps and More CAS challenge using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  I used some NBUS Altenew Christmas stamps and paper pieced them with coloured cardstock.  The poinsettia is layered 3 times and has lots of dimension in real life.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Bashful Blue) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower & leaves from Festive Silhouettes) Altenew, (Sentiment from CL343) Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Stitched circle) Lil' Inker Designs
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is my take on Ardyth's card over at Muse.  I stuck pretty close to the inspiration using the same Mama Elephant pandas and the same colour scheme.  I'm also entering this over at the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Sahara Sand) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Panda & balloons from Pandamonium) Mama Elephant, (Sentiment from Birthday Greetings) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Gems:  Recollections

This card uses the neutral colour scheme from Colour Me along with the Hardware challenge over at The Male Room.  I used Delicata Golden Glitz ink for the Altenew tree and decorated it with silver brads.  I was so excited to use some of them as I have zillions and I cut the "legs" off of them so they'd sit nice and flat.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Crumb Cake, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Tree from Festive Silhouettes) Altenew, (Sentiment from 'Tis the Season Sentiments) Papertrey Ink
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Delicata Golden Glitz) Tsukineko

Last but not least is a card using the current Colour Throwdown colours.  I used a lot of my favourite Paper Smooches dies for this card so I'm entering it in the new PS monthly challenge - this month to use gold.  Finally I'm also entering it in the Simon Says Wednesday Thanks/Thanksgiving challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Calypso Coral, Lucky Limeade, Basic Black, Brushed Gold) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Mason jar from Crystal Clear) Paper Smooches
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Flowers, leaves, thanks) Paper Smooches
Washi Tape:  Crafty Basics
Gems:  Recollections

Skipping Stones Design New Release Day 2

Hi there!  We're back with Day 2 of celebrating the newest release from Skipping Stones Design.  As I mentioned yesterday, be sure to hop along and check out all the fantastic inspiration and leave comments as Heather (owner of SSD) will be giving away the entire release to a randomly drawn commenter!

You should have arrived here from the Skipping Stones Design blog but if you got lost along the way here's the full list of blogs so you're sure not to miss anything:

Today's card is made with the Hippo Birthday set.  How cute are these critters??  There are some adorable sheep in this set too along with plenty of punny sentiments.  I went for a masculine feel with this card.  I paper pieced the bird and hippo with solid colour cardstock and grounded them with a strip of patterned paper.  There's lots of foam tape action going on here.  Each animal is popped up on foam tape and their heads are also popped up separately which gives lots of fun dimension to the card.

Now it's time to hop along to Martha Lucia's blog and don't forget to leave comments for a chance to win!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Pink Pirouette, Pumpkin Pie, Baja Breeze, Sahara Sand, Smokey Slate, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Stripes from Let's Polka, Mon Amie) Lawn Fawn
Stamps:  (All from Hippo Birthday) Skipping Stones Design
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Word Bubbles) Paper Smooches

Skipping Stones Design New Release

I'm super excited for my first post as part of the Skipping Stones Design team!

I've been a fan of Skipping Stones Design since I first started crafting and was so glad when they reopened after taking a few years off.  SSD has a fantastic and varied selection of stamps from beautiful flora and fauna images to hilarious, punny images and sentiments - something for everyone!  You should definitely check out all the goodies in the store.

Today is Day 1 of two days of the design team showing off the newest release.  Be sure to hop along and check out all the fantastic inspiration and leave comments as Heather (owner of SSD) will be giving away the entire release to a randomly drawn commenter.

You should be coming to me from Ilina's blog but if you got lost along the way here's the full list of blogs so you're sure not to miss anything:

My card today uses the new set "Funderwear".  SSD already has a couple of fun bra sets so I think adding some underwear to the collection is a brilliant idea.  I stamped these cute frilly panties multiple times on my card base and then once on white cardstock.  I coloured the single pair with a pink Copic, popped it up with foam tape on the sentiment strip and finished it off with some matching bling.

Your next stop on the hop is Martha Lucia and don't forget to leaves comments for a chance to win!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Funderwear) Skipping Stones Design
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Marker:  (RV23) Copic

One Layer Trees

I had a bit of time to work on Christmas cards today and I made a one layer card for the challenge at Just Us Girls.  I used some NBUS Lawn Fawn stamps, did a bit of masking for the sentiment and then added lots of bling.  The longest part of the process was deciding which green inks to use.  I think I might actually remake it with all green trees and then use red for the sentiment to make it pop a bit more.  I'll let you know how it turns out!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Trees from Snow Day, Sentiment from Peace Joy Love) Lawn Fawn
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Real Red, Old Olive, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi, Lucky Limeade) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Car) Taylored Expressions, (Flag) Reverse Confetti

CASology #171

Welcome to Week 171 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I got this cute little stamp and die set from Taylored Expressions back in June but have only used one of the car images.  Today's cue word gave me the perfect excuse to break out the other one.  I want to give the feeling of movement so I stamped the puff of exhaust a few times without reinking it so it looks like it's fading away.  Unfortunately my sentiment is a little dark in this picture but it says, "Happy Birthday, Champ".  Now it's your turn.  Check out all the inspiration from the design team and then play along with us!

And this week's guest designer:

Link your creations to the CASology blog and remember that the deadline for entries is Monday at noon (CST).

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Bravo Burgundy) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Car & sentiment from Vroom Vroom) Taylored Expressions, (Exhaust from Scootin' By) Sweet Stamp Shop
Inks:  (Lost Lagoon) Stampin' Up, (Soft Granite, Charcoal) Hero Arts
Dies:  (Car) Taylored Expressions, (Flag) Reverse Confetti

Winter Fox

I'm popping in before I head back work to share a card for a four challenges.  I started out with using the colour palette from The Colour Throwdown.  Because of the orange I decided I wanted to use a fox image so I pulled out this NBUS stamp from Lawn Fawn.  I think sending warm winter wishes constitutes thinking of someone so I'm entering this in the Lawnscaping Thinking of You challenge.  Just Add Ink has asked us to Just Add "W" this week and I have a triple "W" in my sentiment.  Finally there's an Anything Goes challenge at Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge and the DT focused on Lawn Fawn products so I thought this card would be a perfect entry.

I did more paper piecing with coloured cardstock.  I should really just get over my fear of colouring because it would probably save me a lot of time but I do like the end result once all the fussy cutting is done.  Must dash - lots of hungry cats to be fed!  Have a lovely evening!

Flowers & Trees

Hi there!  I haven't been around too much this past week because we've been busy getting Tex settled in.  Aside from just getting used to his new home he's had training on the Invisible Fence system and a visit to the vet to contend with.  He's taking it all in stride though - he continues to amaze us!

Anyway I finally made it into the Craft Cave today and got a couple of cards put together.  First up is a card for the Muse challenge and the One Layer Simplicity Multitude of Gratitude challenge.  I was inspired by Tracey's flower and layout but used more autumnal colours to represent this month of gratitude.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Flower from Calico, Sentiment from Chit Chat) Paper Smooches
Inks:  (Cherry Cobbler, Cajun Craze, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Chocolate Chip) Stampin' Up
Gems:  Recollections

My second card uses the design from Freshly Made Sketches and the palette from Colour Me.  I pulled out some Woodware stamps that I've had for years and paper pieced them with solid coloured cardstock (definitely one of my favourite techniques).  I have to dash off to work for a couple of hours now so that's it for today.  Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Tangelo Twist, So Saffron, Cucumber Crush, Soft Suede) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Tree & holly) Woodware, (Sentiment from Joy to the World) Avery Elle
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Star) Mama Elephant
