R is for Rude

After being crowned Queen of Snark last week at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers I was invited to be a guest designer for their new challenge - R is for Rude!  If you've never played along with (or heard of) the Sisterhood you MUST check them out.  You are always guaranteed a giggle with their collection of cheeky and sassy cards.

I made a few different cards for this challenge but this was the favourite in the end.  I pulled out these Skipping Stones Designs granny panties, paper-pieced them and paired them with a Technique Tuesday sentiment - they were made for each other!

Head over to the Sisterhood to admire the DT cards and join in the fun!

A Waffle Lot

This little Technique Tuesday stamp set has been staring at me for ages and the new Freshly Made Sketch challenge finally gave me the inspiration to use it.  This was super simple to put together once the waffles were coloured.  The pink paper I used for the panel and the hearts is ancient so yay for me!  Unfortunately I am now craving waffles which is something I didn't pick up at the store on Thursday and after waiting an hour and a half just to get inside even a waffle craving isn't strong enough to make me go back any time soon!

You Are My Sunshine

Hi there!

I'm popping in tonight with a card for the Simon Says Wednesday challenge (Whatever the Weather) using the CAS Colours and Sketches sketch.  This Technique Tuesday stamp set has long been a favourite.  It even got me featured in Paper Crafts magazine back in the day!  I flipped the CC&S sketch around 180 degrees and use an MFT die for the frame.  All the cards I made today ended up using coloured card bases which is rare for me but made for a happy and colorful display on my craft table.  I made another of these using orange and black but I think I definitely like the yellow one best.

Pigeon Inspiration

Hello hello!

I'm popping in today with a card for Seize the Birthday (no toppings) and The Library Challenge.  This time the Library inspiration book is Don't Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus.  This, and all the other pigeon books, are great sellers at the bookstore and I think they're so much fun.  I took inspiration from the cover art for my card using similar colours and layout.

CASology #329

Welcome to Week 329 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

My card this week took a couple of tries to get right.  The first one involved some ill fated heart die cuts and a multi-color sentiment.  It was not a pretty sight.  So I one back to the drawing board and did some masking and inking and was SO much happier with this result!

I must ask though - is paper pilling common when you work with Distress Oxide inks?  I had the same problem with regular cardstock and watercolor paper.  Am I just being too heavy handed with it?

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Christmas Duo

Hi there!  I've got two cards to share this evening for three challenges.  First up is for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.  I've had this Technique Tuesday sentiment for ages and today it finally got it's moment to shine (or twinkle even)!  I have lots of American Crafts glitter tape kicking around and thought it would compliment the sentiment well.

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Twinkle On) Technique Tuesday

This card is for two challenges.  Lawnscaping is having a CAS challenge and I took inspiration from the photo at Inspired By All The Little Things for my design.  These Lawn Fawn stamps are all NBUS too.  I ordered them last year but they arrived too late for the holidays.  Saves me from having to order Christmas stamps for this year.
Ha ha ha ha ha!
Yeah right...

Sun, Foliage, Flowers & Lots of Ink!

Hi there!  Crafty time has been sporadic lately but I managed to get a few cards made yesterday.  My first was inspired by three challenges.  I took the sketch from Freshly Made Sketchesthe sponging challenge from Just Us Girls and the Inspired by Words theme from Time Out - "Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine"
Anthony J. D'Angelo.

I sponged the oval with Distress Inks and then paper pieced the sun and clouds.  They're from the first Technique Tuesday set I ever got and I love it!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Yellow) Bo Bunny, (Grey) K & Company
Stamps:  (All from The Weather Report) Technique Tuesday
Ink:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon) Ranger
Embossing Powder: (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig

Next up is a design inspired by Anita's gorgeous card over at Muse.  I used Distress Inks for the background and stamped the foliage with Jet Black Archival Ink.  I used my MISTI so I could stamp them multiple times to get nice, dark coverage.  I'm also going to enter this in the Addicted to Stamps and More Anything Goes challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Black) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Leaves from Botanicals 2) Paper Smooches, (Sentiment from Casual Comfort) CAS-ual Fridays
Ink:  (Jet Black Archival, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed) Ranger
Gems:  Recollections

After all that inking I went super CAS for my third card using the palette from The Colour Throwdown.  I used some fabulous bright red Zing embossing powder for the flower and heart and even broke out some washi tape.

That's it for today.  Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with some more cards.  Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

CASology #111

Welcome to Week 111 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Lots of ideas came to mind for this week's cue word.  A few songs - Under the Sea, Under the Boardwalk, Under the Bridge, Land Down Under.  A few words - underwear, undertaker, underground, underline, underwrite.  However, it wasn't until I spotted a stack of tissue boxes in the cupboard that the idea for my card popped into my head.  I also managed to make it a triple under card - I used the word under in the sentiment, the sentiment is under the image and part of the sentiment is underlined!  Whoop whoop! And now it's your turn.  Check out the fabulous designs from the design team and then play along!

And this week's guest designers:

Hello, Friday!  I have another card using a sticker embellishment.  How cute is that sun from s.e.i?  It's so bright and fun that it doesn't need much more than a strip of patterned paper to make it seriously awesome!  I'm going to join in with the Sun challenge over at Addicted to CAS.  And now I have to dash to work.  Hope your day is full of sunshine!

**Edited to add:  Thanks to Lynn for pointing me in the direction of the latest Time Out challenge - Fun in the Sun!
