Autumn Beauty & RAK

I really don't know what possesses me to decide to fussy cut and paper piece such tiny designs but here I've done it again!  I cut lots of little leaves, popped them up on Pop Dots and added Glossy Accents to them.  The colours I used are from this week's ColourQ challenge and I'm also going to enter this over at Unity's monthly challenge (Autumn Harvest), Picture Perfect Creations (Fall/Halloween Specialty Challenge) and Create's Fall challenge.

I had a lovely surprise arrive in the mail yesterday.  Awhile back Amy Tsuruta had asked for some crafty storage ideas and I linked her up to my Craft Cave pictures.  As a thank you she sent out a little care package with stamps, notepaper, buttons and, of course, a fabulous card!  I was so excited although I'm not happy with Bermuda Customs.  They opened the package to "inspect" it and clearly just crammed everything back in and bent the card.  :( Typical.  I still love it though - especially the delicate stitching!
I also realised that I never posted a picture of the fabulous card Lynn Mangan sent when I won some blog candy from her.  Love all the layers and PTI goodness!

Hello Card, Goodbye Chicken

***This is my third post for today!  Please scroll down to see what else I've been up to!***

This week at Lawnscaping we're getting texty!  I used stamps from two LF sets for this card - the phone and "Hello" from Just My Type and I spelled out the Blah blah blahs with Harold's ABCs.  I used this fun colour combo from this week's Picture Perfect Creations challenge and I'm also going to enter this card in the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.

I kind of felt like I should be making a sympathy card today because last night Atticus caught his first (and hopefully last!) chicken.  There aren't too many places you can go in Bermuda without running into feral chickens or feral cats.  (And yes, they often hang out together!)  This includes our evening walking route.  The boys always make a mighty effort to get ahold of a chicken but usually their leashes are not quite long enough and the chickens are too quick.  Last night however Atti disappeared into the bushes and reappeared with a hen in his mouth!  Of course, once he had it he didn't seem to know what to do with it and dropped it pretty quickly.  It was still alive but not in good shape.  I would have driven it to work to have it euthanised but as Luis pointed out it might not make it that long (30 minutes not including us getting back home to the car) and I didn't want it to suffer any longer than necessary.  Luckily, Luis grew up on a farm and so knew how to take care of it quickly.  I know dogs are hunters and it's in their nature and I wasn't angry at Atti but I still felt pretty bad for the chicken.  And the dogs will be on much shorter leashes this evening!

A Smile is a Laugh That Bursts

Good morning, Crafters!  I have a card for two challenges today - Jay Gee's challenge and Picture Perfect Creations.  Lots of purple going on in both and for some reason purple makes me think of laughter so I though this little quote would go nicely with the colours.  I stamped the background with a few other stamps from the set and used embroidery floss to attach the tag.  I wanted to use a ribbon but it turns out I have no cream coloured ribbon.  Pretty scary considering how much ribbon I do have. Might need to rectify that situation...

Got a bit of carding in yesterday afternoon during which time we had a fantastic thunderstorm and lots of wonderful rain!  After all those months of nothing we've had quite a bit of the watery stuff these last few weeks and our once charred lawn is now growing faster than Luis can mow it!  :)  It's a beautiful sight!

Picture Perfect Hearts

Red and pink always makes me think of hearts and Valentine's Day so it was inevitable that when I saw this week's Picture Perfect Creations colour combo that hearts would be involved.  I chose one of my new Purple Onion Designs hearts for the occasion.  I stamped it 3 times, cut out the middles and layered polka dot stamped coloured paper behind them.

Supplies:  CS: Gina K & SU; Stamps: Purple Onion Designs & PTI; Inks: VersaMark, VersaFine, Brilliance Moonlight White
The BBQ went well last night and we have enough food left to last us for a week!  Sweet!  No cooking!!  :)  The dogs were so good last night and charmed the pants off everyone.  I was so proud of my boys.  :)  And the best part is they are knackered.  When we got up this morning they barely said hello before they raced into our room and hopped into our bed where they are still snoozing peacefully!  They really lead tough lives...

Dotty Thanks

Another last minute entry for a challenge.  This time for Picture Perfect Creations.  I ended up with two cards for this one and have been dithering over them but I think I like the first one best.  If I did it again I would use darker cardstock for the band the letter are popped up on.  What do you think?

Live in the Moment

Lots of pink going on in this week's Picture Perfect Creations challenge.  Not generally my favourite colour although I've been digging Melon Mambo lately for some reason. Guess there might be a girl inside me trying to claw her way out after all!  :)
This week I incorporated the colours solely with ink and kept it simple.  I love this Hero Arts sentiment.  The swirliness of it makes me think butterflies so I pulled out these PTI lovelies to go with it.
Supplies: Stamps: HA, PTI; Inks: SU Wild Wasabi, Melon Mambo, Pink Pirouette
Off to exercise the hounds.  Jem is giving me his soulful "I am so neglected" eyes right now. If I don't respond quickly enough he may take a pillow hostage!  Later, gators!

Blue Without You

This week's Picture Perfect Creations colour pallette is blues and greens and I immediately thought of feeling blue.  I pulled out my favourite Hero Arts birdies and came up with this:
Supplies:  CS: SU & Bazzill; Stamps: Hero Arts & Lawn Fawn; Inks: SU Pear Pizzazz and Not Quite Navy
I did some paper piecing with the challenge colours and added HA's envelope pattern for some texture on the bird's chest.  It's based roughly on one of this month's sketches at Hero Arts and is also masculine (in my opinion!) so I'm going to enter it over at Hero Arts as well.

Now back to the Craft Cave where I hope to complete a few more projects this afternoon. Have a lovely one!

Crazy 4 Picture Perfect Trees!

Another multi-challenge card here today.  No sketches - instead a colour combo and a theme.  The colour combo is courtesy of Picture Perfect Creations Challenge #52 and the theme at Crazy 4 Challenges C4C78 is to have a tree somewhere on the card in honour of International Earth Day.

Eyelets were some of the first crafty goodies I bought 4 years ago (when I started exploring this whole card making lark) and surprise, surprise, they are still sitting in the Craft Cave fighting off dust bunnies and hoping for their moment of glory.  Well today is your lucky day, you little orange eyelets!  Wipe off that dust and come on down - I'm putting you to work!  (Hope it was worth the wait for them)  :)
Supplies: CB: Handy Hippo; Cardstock: SU & Bazzill; Stamps: Hero Arts; Ink: SU Elegant Eggplant & VersaMark; Punch: Martha Stewart; Eyelets: Making Memories; Gems: Basic Grey; Copics: BV08
