Triple Threat

***This is my 2nd post for the day.  Please click here for my ColourQ entry!***

This card is a triple threat challenge card!  I'm entering it in All Things Unity's Be Inspired challenge, the Young Crafters Unite Envelope to Match challenge and the Holiday Madness Challenge at Wee Memories.  The inspiration for the ATU challenge came from this picture of a pillow I found in Real Simple magazine.  I liked the turquoise and white design and, although I initially planned that the images would be more like the pillow, I ended up using the Christmas tree because it has a folky feel to it.
Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill Basics, (Tempting Turquoise) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Image and sentiment from Sept 2011 KOM - All Seasons) Unity Stamp Co
Ink:  (Tempting Turquoise) Stampin' Up

Good Friends Are Like Stars

Although this looks a bit like a kraft card base it's actually yellow - although what specific yellow I couldn't tell you as it was in my pile of random-who-knows-where-the-heck-it-came-from cardstock. The stars and sentiment are both heat embossed and because I embossed on top of embossing I had to do a bit of touching up with a Copic.   Since it's a one layer card and also uses all Unity stamps I'm entering it in this week's One Layer Wednesday challenge (to make the sentiment the focal point) and the All Things Unity challenge (to make a one layer card).

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Yellow) Craft supply
Stamps:  (Sentiment and Images from January 2011 Kit of the Month - To The Moon and Back) Unity Stamp Co.
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko, (Orange) ColourBox
Embossing Powder:  (Clear) Ranger
Copic:  YR68

I Believe In You

I love ColourQ's bold colour palette this week and decided it would be perfect to use with these stamps from Unity's August 2011 Kit of the Month - What I Know.  I think the flower/text stamp is going to get a lot of love - it's awesome!  Since I'm workin' the Unity stamps I'm also going to enter this in this week's All Things Unity challenge - Anything Goes.

Thanks to those who have expressed concern about me getting battered by Hurricane Irene. However, Bermuda is in the Atlantic about 600 miles off Cape Hatteras so unless Irene does a major right turn we should be just fine.  Hope all of you on the East Coast are battened down and ready!  Be safe.

You're Out of This World

I felt a little rusty in the old Craft Cave this morning and it took me a little while to get going but I finally dug out this cute Unity stamp and came up with this card for this week's Play Date Cafe challenge.  Simple and to the point!  It's a gorgeous day outside - although a bit hot - so I'm looking forward to a swim with the hounds later on.  Hope you're having a lovely one!

Always Fun

For today's card I played with stamps from Unity's June 2011 Kit of the Month - All Smiles - and partnered them with the Hero Arts Graph Background stamp.  I don't have any Kiwi Kiss or Barely Banana products and in this photo my Banana is looking decidedly anaemic!  Is there somewhere to find retired SU products?  I know I don't really need them but I just wondered...  :)  Hope you've all had a lovely weekend.  It's been gorgeous here and after a busy morning and chilled out afternoon Luis has volunteered to cook dinner!  Result!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock: (Early Espresso, Rose Red, Lucky Limeade) Stampin' Up, (Cream) Craft Supply
Stamps: (Image & Sentiment from All Smiles - June 2011 KOM) Unity Stamp Co., (Graph Background) Hero Arts

ColourQ Ribbon Circles

Another multi-challenge card today - I'm on a roll with these lately!  I started out working on a card for this week's ColourQ challenge and then realised that my use of Unity stamps and ribbon meant I could enter it in two Unity challenges:  All Things Unity's Twine Ribbon challenge and Unity's Circles, Circles, Circles challenge.
Supplies:  CS: SU & Craft Supply; Stamps: Unity; Inks: Memento & SU; Ribbon: Making Memories; Punches: Marvy Uchida (2 1/2" circle punch), McGill (5/16" hole punch); Die: Nesties Lacey Circles; IP: PTI; Copics: Y08, YR07, G14
As always, I love the bold colours from ColourQ and I wanted to make the most of them. The dotted circle with the flower is from "Think Happy Thoughts" (KOM May 2011).  Not sure what set the sentiment is from as it came as a freebie.  I don't use ribbon all that often which is sad considering how much of it I own (but it looks pretty hanging on my wall!). Glad I finally managed to work some into a card.  Only about a million yards to go!

Hope everyone is keeping well hydrated in this crazy heat.  We're off to Canada next weekend and I'll not be happy if it's hotter there than it is here!  Have a wonderful evening!

Little Things Make Me Happy

Last month I missed the challenge deadline at Jay Gee's Nook by a few hours.  I was so annoyed at myself but was determined not to miss the next one and am getting my card in nice and early.  I was inspired by the picture in the lower right corner of the photo collage - love that white octopus on the turquoise background.  I also wanted to join in with the challenge at All Things Unity which involves using butterflies.  It seems like almost every Unity set I have has a butterfly but I hadn't inked up this one yet so I thought I'd dust it off and try it out.
Supplies:  CS: PTI; Stamps: Unity & PTI; Inks: VersaMark & VersaMagic Cloud White; Embossing Powder: Ranger Seafoam White; Nestie: Lacey Circles
I was so excited earlier today to see a manta ray swimming around down by our dock!  I haven't seen one in our bay in years and he spent quite a while tootling around down there.  They really are gorgeous creatures and I am so blessed to have an aquarium in my back yard!
