CASology #368

Welcome to Week 368 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Plants and snails definitely go hand in hand but I know that many people would prefer they didn't.  Luis does not appreciate when they savage his vegetable garden but I think they're pretty cool creatures.  Their shells are gorgeous and I always feel so guilty when I step on one by mistake. :(

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Link your creations to the CASology blog by Monday, 25 May (CDT).

Blue & Gold Birthday

Today's cards are for three challenges - the Colour Throwdown,  Seize the Birthday (Anything Goes) and Darnell's NBUS challenge.  These Lil' Inker Designs balloons and the Simon Says Stamp stars have seen a lot of use over the years but this is the first time I've broken out The Stamp Market happy birthday die.  I really liked the colour combo so, like yesterday, I made two cards with the same design but just switched the colours around.

No Stamping

I've got cards to share for 3 challenges today - Freshly Made Sketches, Just Add Ink (colours) and the Simon Says Wednesday challenge (dies and/or punches).  I used the Simon Says Air Vent die to created the striped panels in the card and a SSS sentiment die.  The thank you is double stacked and then covered with Glossy Accents to add some shine. I made two card with this design and just switched around the colours.

Welcome Home

I'm popping in with a last minute entry for the AAA Card Challenge where we have to use 1 image with the optional twist inspired by TV.  We often have HGTV on in the background when we're puttering around the house and Fixer Upper is on quite regularly.  When Chip and Joanna show their clients their new house they always say, "Welcome home."

Funny story about Fixer Upper - I caught the end of an episode a few weeks ago and thought the husband from the couple whose house was being renovated looked very familiar.  Turns out that's because he was my first boyfriend!  I remembered afterwards that
his family was originally from Texas (they lived here in Bermuda for a couple of years) and he went to university at Baylor so its not surprising he's ended up back in Waco.  So weird to see someone pop up out of the blue who I haven't thought about in forever.  Know what's even weirder?  That makes 3 boys I've kissed who have turned up on reality tv shows.  Either there are too many reality shows or I kissed too many boys in my youth!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pistachio Pudding, Basic Grey, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamp:  (Sentiment from Warm Welcome) SugarPea

Silhouette Sympathy

Today I'm playing along with the Silhouette challenge at Addicted to CAS and the Anything Goes challenge at Paper Smooches.  I have quite a few lovely flower dies from PS that make wonderful silhouettes.  I paired this one with a vase from another set and used a bit of Basic Grey paper behind them.  The sentiment is from Altenew and I used some Nuvo dots around the sentiment and also to create the flower center.

Cardstock:  (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Kioshi 12x12) Basic Grey
Stamp:  (Sentiment from Heartfelt Sentiments) Altenew
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

Make A Wish Or Two

This card is for the MFT Wednesday Sketch challenge and the AAA Birthday challenge (Things with Wings).  I adore these chubby little MFT birthday chicks and had a few stamped and die cut on my desk waiting for the perfect project to come along.  Today was the day!  They're coloured with Copics and popped up on foam tape in front of some Heffy Doodle stitched circles and the sentiments are cut with MFT flags.

Stencil & Butterflies

The card is for the Just Add Ink and AAA Birthday challenges.  At JAI we are to "Just Add Two" - 2 choices from Stencils-Pencils-Patterned Paper.  I went with stencils and patterned paper.  I've had this embossing paste stenciled background on my desk for ages - so excited to finally use it!  I cut some PTI butterflies (things with wings for AAA!) out from patterned paper and cardstock and popped them up on foam tape.  The sentiment is from Mama Elephant.
