Cute Hello

Hi there!  I'm popping in quickly with a card for The Colour Throwdown.  I did some very simple paper piecing with some My Cute Stamps images and kept things really CAS.  I used to make a lot of cards with colored card bases but I haven't done as much of it lately.  I forgot how much I like it!  :)  Okay, off to try and get a few more cards done before Luis gets home.  Hope you've all had a lovely day!

Oh Ship!

Hello!!!  I am ecstatic to be typing up this post right now! My internet has been down since late Friday night and I've been wandering around like a lost soul all weekend.  Luis and Atti have been treading very carefully around me - no internet makes for a VERY grumpy Jen!  LOL! Anyway it's back and I have lots to catch up on but first I wanted to post a card for the Simon Says Wednesday birthday challenge and for the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge.  This is the card I sent to my brother this year.  I didn't actually forget his birthday but I knew this card was going to be really late.  He enjoyed it and I has some fun using some red embossing powder and some old Cosmo Cricket papers.  Okay.  Off to catch up on blog surfing!  Yay!!

Seize the Time Out Concept

Hello and Happy Saturday!  I'm here to share a card for three challenges.  I used the current design from Seize the Sketch, the inspiration picture from Time Out Challenges and the butterfly theme from The Card Concept.  I turned the sketch 90 degrees to the left and expanded the central elements.  In terms of the photo, I was inspired by the paneled walls and the butterflies. I broke out more patterned paper and I like the result here better than the last time I played around with it.  There are several colours and patterns but it's still relatively simple.  I think it fits into the Clean and Layered category at The Card Concept.  I hope your weekend is off to a good start and that you find some time to get crafty!  :)

Fusion Take 2

I'm back with my second attempt at the current Fusion challenge and this time I stuck to my usual CAS style.  Ahhh!  So much less stressful!  :)  I took my inspiration from the photo - specifically the dress form covered in script and that cozy looking cowl.  Good thing I never got rid of all those "Fun Fibers" I bought back in 2007 - this little piece worked perfectly for this design!  Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

CAS(E) This Sketch #71

Welcome to Week 71 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch by Gayatri Murali:

I decided that this fun and funky sketch needed some bright, cheery colours to go along with it so I took my colour inspiration from this week's Cure for the Monday Blues challenge.  I've been admiring the inspiration photos and the winners for ages but haven't gotten around to playing along until now.  If you haven't checked it out you must go over to Taheera's blog.  I love her "dreamy cool" style (as I like to call it).  :)  Can't wait to see how the sketch inspires you!

Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Tempting Turquoise) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flowers from Water Blooms) Mama Elephant, (Sentiment from Tilted Banner Sayings) Simon Says Stamp

Sew What's New?

Okay, so I don't love this card but I was trying to break out of my CAS comfort zone and play with some patterned papers.  I dithered about sharing it at all but sometimes I need to remind myself that I'm not going to make the perfect card every time.  It was inspired by the current Fusion challenge, both the photo and the sketch.  The buttons were a last minute addition because everything just seemed so flat despite the oval being popped up.   (They also allow me to enter this into the Simon Says Anything Goes with Buttons challenge!)  I'm planning on taking another stab at this challenge so should have something to share later in the week.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill
