Wag Wag

I love this cute Unity dog stamp and I often pair it with this sentiment from Hero Arts.  I decided to use them for ColourQ's 100th challenge.  They've paired up with the Clean and Simple Stamping challenge this week.  We were give a CAS sketch and could choose any past colour combo from ColourQ to use with it.  Talk about overwhelmed by choice!!  I spent ages perusing the past colour palettes but finally settled on CQC #88 which I thought would go nicely with the pooch.  My awesome Stampin' Up demonstrator, Selene, recently sent me the new catalog/idea book and included with it some gorgeous cards and a selection of ribbons and buttons.  So sweet of her!  There was some Cherry Cobbler ribbon in there (which Lynn has raved about more then once!) which was perfect for my card and I see more of it in my future - once the shopping ban ends.  :(

CAS-ually Distressed

I look at the sketches on the Clean and Simple site every Friday but I've only ever played along with them once.  So, I'm glad CAS-ual Fridays kicked my butt into making use of their great sketches by hosting a combined challenge!  Now sketch challenges are not generally my favourites but after last week's epic fail in my attempt at a CAS-uals Fridays entry I decided I had to suck it up and take on theis sketch.  I also decided to break out my newly acquired Distress inks and inking tools.  I wasn't convinced that the technique is as easy as some crafter's make it look but after playing around for a while I came up with a strip of cardstock that I was quite pleased with!  I matted it, stamped some Purple Onion stamps and added a few gems for a bit of texture.  Now I'm wondering why I waited so long to try these inks out?  Can't wait to use them again!

Clean and Simple 130

I have looked at the Clean and Simple sketch every week for months though have never played along with it.  I think it's time to remedy that with this week's challenge.
Supplies: Cardstock: Bazzil; PP: DCWV; Punches: PTI & Woodware; Ribbon: HOTP; Cosmo Cricket Tiny Type
After my photographic confession of my hoarding I decided to use some patterned paper.  I pulled out DCWV's Green Stack papers and they're so pretty with such cute images that you don't need to do much to them.  Since I had the paper out I made a couple of other cards too.
Supplies: Card Blank: Handy Hippo; PP: DCWV; Stamp: Hero Arts; Ink: SU Night of Navy

Supplies: Card Blank: Handy Hippo; PP: DCWV; Stamp: WoodwareUSA; Ink: StazOn Jet Black
I wasn't sure if there was too much white space at the top of this card.  I considered cutting it down to make it a square.  The more I look at it the more I think that's what I should have done.  Any thoughts?
