Sun, Foliage, Flowers & Lots of Ink!

Hi there!  Crafty time has been sporadic lately but I managed to get a few cards made yesterday.  My first was inspired by three challenges.  I took the sketch from Freshly Made Sketchesthe sponging challenge from Just Us Girls and the Inspired by Words theme from Time Out - "Wherever you go, no matter what the weather, always bring your own sunshine"
Anthony J. D'Angelo.

I sponged the oval with Distress Inks and then paper pieced the sun and clouds.  They're from the first Technique Tuesday set I ever got and I love it!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Yellow) Bo Bunny, (Grey) K & Company
Stamps:  (All from The Weather Report) Technique Tuesday
Ink:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Tumbled Glass, Broken China, Mermaid Lagoon) Ranger
Embossing Powder: (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig

Next up is a design inspired by Anita's gorgeous card over at Muse.  I used Distress Inks for the background and stamped the foliage with Jet Black Archival Ink.  I used my MISTI so I could stamp them multiple times to get nice, dark coverage.  I'm also going to enter this in the Addicted to Stamps and More Anything Goes challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Black) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Leaves from Botanicals 2) Paper Smooches, (Sentiment from Casual Comfort) CAS-ual Fridays
Ink:  (Jet Black Archival, Carved Pumpkin, Mustard Seed) Ranger
Gems:  Recollections

After all that inking I went super CAS for my third card using the palette from The Colour Throwdown.  I used some fabulous bright red Zing embossing powder for the flower and heart and even broke out some washi tape.

That's it for today.  Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with some more cards.  Hope you all had a fabulous weekend!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Flowers from Fall Florals) My Favourite Things, (Sentiment from Good Times) Mama Elephant
Ink:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder: (Zing Rouge) American Crafts
Washi:  Pebbles

Your take on my card is lovely, Jen. That rich blend with the crisp black silhouettes looks fabulous. I'm loving your third card too, it's right up my street.
Thanks so much for playing along at Muse this week, Anita x

You've been busy (and not just commenting on all my cards - thank you so much!!) I love those swrily clouds and sun - and you've used the sketch perfectly with them! Your use of a black cardbase and repeat stamping for your Muse card just ups the drama - gorgeous! (what did we do before MISTI? LOL!). Finally, your adorable cas flower card - love the 'o' and the use of chevrons! So glad you joined us at Muse this week!

I love those swirly clouds and sun and how you focused them on the card with the oval sky. Your sympathy card has such a radiant effect between the background and the silhouettes, and I love the simplicity of your sweet bunch of flowers on your third card!

Jen, these are all so gorgeous. The sunset silhouette is so apt for a sympathy card - am going to try that next time. Your red embossed flowers pop perfectly on your Hello There card and your blue inked oval with it bright sun and clouds is blissful - that blue is magic!! You have been busy!! ;)

Now I'll be singing that song, Jen. ;) Darling card and I love your inking on the Muse card. I have some red embossing powder and have only used it once. I may try again after seeing your lovely bouquet.

Excellent cards! I had thought sympathy card, as well, when I saw the Muse card... but I've had even less crafty time lately than you, maybe! ;)
