CASology #239

Welcome to Week 239 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

There are plenty of different kinds of landmarks in the world but living on an island, just down the road from one of our two lighthouses, I figured I had to go with this image.  Also it was an NBUS Paper Smooches die so I was happy to have a chance to put it to work.  The sentiment is from a really old Paper Smooches set, from their first or second release I think.  The glow of the lamp was created with a Lil' Inkers Designs die.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CAS Colours & Sketches Guest Designer

Hi there!  I was thrilled to receive an email inviting me to be the March Guest Designer for CAS Colours & Sketches!  I only discovered this challenge fairly recently but my CAS loving heart has really been enjoying it and I hope you'll check it out.

This week is a colour challenge:

I used all NBUS items on my card - stars from Simon Says Stamp and sentiment from Neat & Tangled.  How fun is that Awesome die cut?  I love the way you can layer it or use it on it's own.  I added some clear Wink of Stella to the stars for a bit of sparkle as well as a gem to help the sentiment pop.

Be sure to check out the inspiration from the Design Team and then play along!  You have until 6pm Eastern Time on Monday, 13 March.

Blessings

I've got a three for one challenge card to share for CAS(E) This Sketch, The Card Concept (clean & simple) and the Paper Smooches Greenery challenge.  The flowers in The Card Concept photo immediately made me think of Paper Smooches' Crystal Clear set - one of my favourites.  I stamped a few flowers directly on the card base and then fussy cut a few others to pop up on foam tape for some dimension.  I second generation stamped the shadow below the jar to ground it and popped up the flag, tucking part of it behind the flowers (which are a bit brighter green than I expected them to be but I'm going with it).

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flowers & jar from Crystal Clear, Shadow from Shadows, Sentiment from Good Gab) Paper Smooches
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Twisted Citron) Ranger, (Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up

Balloon Bunny

Hello hello!  It's been a cold, windy, rainy day which I happily spent holed up in the Craft Cave.  (It actually hailed at one point so I swear it's not just my usual wimpy version of cold.)  I was working mostly on DT cards but I have a challenge card to share for Freshly Made Sketches and the Seize the Birthday Anything Goes challenge.  This is an oldie but goodie Mama Elephant image paired with a Reverse Confetti sentiment and some even older Papertrey Ink clouds.  I coloured the bunny with Copics, fussy cut him and popped him up on foam tape.  I also made a version with a brown bunny.

Time for bed - that alarm clock is going to sound way too soon.  Have a wonderful week!

You Make My Heart Full

Hi there!  I've got a quick and easy CAS card today inspired by the maps over at The Heart Desires challenge.  I thought these Lil' Inker stamps needed to be paired with car themed paper and I found this perfect piece in Crate Paper's The Open Road 6x6.  I stamped the fuel gage on a Taylored Expressions heart and popped it up on foam tape over the paper then I added the sentiment and some gems.  Easy peasy and I love it!

When I Kneaded You

Hi there!  Just popping in today with a card for the Cats challenge over at Cupcake Inspirations.  I love this MFT kitty with his ball of yarn.  He looks to me like he's cuddling it while he's snoozing.  So cute!  I coloured him with Copics and popped him up on foam tape.  The papers are also from My Favourite Things.  That's it from me.  Off to make some special order Mother's Day cards.  Have a wonderful day!
