Dotty Christmas

I am totally gutted that I did not take the day off of work today so that I could spend it in the Craft Cave for World Card Making Day.  :(  I have got to be more organized next year so I can really appreciate this holiday!  For now though, before I head to work, I'm going to share a card for two challenges - The Cutting Edge and Merry Monday. I think the Papertrey Ink Bells & Boughs set and the Wonderful Words: Holiday set are two that I use the most for Christmas cards. Do you have a Christmas set that seems to find it's way onto more cards than any others?

Cutting Edge Colour

Hi there!  I'm back with a two for one challenge today.  I was inspired by the card at the Cutting Edge Challenge and I used the colours from the ColourQ challenge.  I love the flowers on Lisa's card - they're pretty high up on my wish list at the moment.  However, since I don't have those I dusted off some severely neglected Marianne Design dies and put them to work.  I love the layered look of the flowers and the leaves can be embossed which is awesome!  At some point I want to make another card with the ColourQ colours.  I love how the flowers pop off of that rich blue background.  So gorgeous.

Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Strawberry Slush, Lucky Limeade, Bermuda Bay, Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Cake & Candles) Avery Elle

Bubbles & Birdie

Hi there!  I'm popping in with a card for the current challenge over at The Cutting Edge.  Our inspiration is an adorable card by Jean Manis.  How cute are those kitties and their little ball of yarn?  Those dies have just jumped to the top of my wish list (and I hope they make some doggie ones too!).  Anyway for my card I took inspiration from the colours, the tag and a die cut with openings.  I christened my new Simon Says Bubble Parade die and thought it was the perfect place for a little birdie to sit.  Okay, off to 5K training now and then a walk for Atticus.  Hope you have a lovely day!

Rainbow Air Vent

Wednesday is upon us already.  Ack!!  I'm joining The Cutting Edge Challenge and the Virginia's View Challenge to use die cuts.  The inspiration for TCEC is this gorgeous card from Lisa Addesa.  I'm a huge fan of her work so I was excited to play along.  I was inspired by the rainbow colours, the horizontal panel and the embossed card base.  I decided to add an extra pop of red and layer a sentiment flag over the panel and finally I topped the rainbow off with some matching rainbow gems.  Sweet and simple.  Hope you have a lovely day!

The Cutting Edge

Jackie Rockwell has done it again and come up with another fantastic crafting challenge.  The Cutting Edge celebrates die cuts, die cuts and more die cuts and has a brilliant design team on board!  The first challenge asks us to take inspiration from this gorgeous card of Jackie's.  I was inspired by the yellow/orange and the large die cut.  I used a Lifestyle Crafts butterfly die and a Paper Smooches sentiment die to create this simple but effective silhouette. It's also flat and great for mailing.  This was super quick to put together so since I had all the supplies out I made another similar card.  Easy peasy!
