RIP Scout

Scout was my first dog.  Due to her rough start in life she was never an easy dog but she was my girl and I loved her.  She has been through so much with me in the last 8 years and I credit her with getting me through the break-up of my first marriage.  When all I wanted to do was curl up in a ball and sleep away the rest of my days Scout would give my hand a nudge and remind me that she needed things from me.  We took a lot of long therapeutic walks together.  She always knew when I needed a cuddle and didn't mind when my tears got her fur all wet.  Over the years she's made me laugh and also occasionally made me want to throttle her but she was always there.  Even with 2 other dogs at home the house now seems empty and probably will for a long time.  Rest in peace, Baby Girl.    

What A Difference A Day Makes!

The hounds were less than impressed with the thunder that went on for most of the night.  Atti paces, Jem hides in his crate and Scout barks right back at it - how dare it make all that noise outside her house!!  They are much happier today and Jem is currently sat beside me with his red ball in his mouth imploring me to hurry up and throw it for him!  Will do, Jem, but first...

A challenge.  This week's Wee Memories challenge is to use ribbon on our projects.  I actually have quite a bit of ribbon although I tend not to use it very often on my cards.  Not sure why although I do struggle with getting the "perfect bow"!  I decided to avoid bows completely for these cards and try some different approaches.  I ended up with two cards but I think I prefer the 2nd one.  Matches my mood today I guess which is much improved from Monday (thanks to everyone who sent a little love my way!). 


Does ric rac count as ribbon?  I hope so...

The Other Kids

No card today as it was a long day a work - 8am - 7pm.  Blerg!  However, I thought I should introduce my other 2 "kids".  Luis was cold tonight and decided that the dogs must be too.  Atticus beat Jem to our bed this evening and Luis kindly covered him up.  

Scout was on the sofa and got a blanket too!

Here they are when they're not snoozing...  Scout loves to jump off the dock.  She would swim all day if we let her.  We actually had to Invisible Fence the dock area so the dogs will only swim when we are around to supervise them!

Atti was a clumsy little 20lb puppy when I got him.  He's 93lbs now (he's part Rhodesian Ridgeback, part Doberman).  He's a big guy but this pic was taken the weekend I first got him.  I love his smile!

So can anyone guess what my favourite book is based on the kids?  :)
