I'm on a birthday card kick at the moment. I never seem to have one when I need one (or when someone else wants one!) so I'm trying to build up a stash. This birthday card was supposed to be for three different challenges but one has already closed. Doh! I have to remember the time difference when I'm entering a Just Add Ink challenge. :) I used the JAI colour combo and the the sketch from Card Patterns Sketch 104.
I also used a Woodware stamp which means I can enter it in the Woodware USA Challenge #16 - Anything Goes. I really like Woodware's stamps and as a company they also provide fantastic customer service. I had an issue last year where it appeared that my order had gone missing. The rep that I dealt with was lovely and worked quickly to sort everything out and not only did they resend the order but they added extra goodies to the order to say sorry for the delay! Woodware is definitely on my thumbs up list.

Card Patterns Sketch 98 & Moxie Fab Monochromatics Colour Challenge
The following card if for the Card Patterns Sketch 98 and I used the colour combo from the Monochromatics Color Challenge for Color Inspiration for Card Makers Week in the Moxie Fab World (whew!). The rules are pretty intense and say you must have the "exact colour combination" that is shown in the swatch. They're Bazzill Basics colours and while I have plenty of Bazzill paper I couldn't for the life of me tell you what each colour is called. So after sitting for ages in front of the computer holding up different pieces of paper to try and match the swatch I finally just went with what looked closest. Of course, they don't look anything like the swatch now that I look at the picture - the card base is actually pale pink although it looks white. Oh well. I still enjoyed working on a monochromatic card and I'm enough pleased with the result.

Challenges - Curtain Call 62 and Card Patterns 96
Lots of firsts for me today! My blog received it's first comments from Lynn and Dallas and it's first follower - Lynn! I'm feeling very chuffed at the moment and have a silly grin on my face. :)
These will be my first ever entries for Curtain Call and Card Patterns. Also, it's the first time I've broken out my Stampin' Up goods. If anyone could have seen me trying to open up my first Stampin' Up ink pad they would have had the best laugh of their day! Even with the picture guide on the back of the ink pad it still took me a while to figure it out (serious blond moment) but I conquered it in the end. So here is my entry for CC62 and CP96:
Supplies: Stamps: Hero Arts sheet music & Fiskars sentiment; Ink: Stampin' Up! Whisper White & VersaMark; Cardstock: Stampin' Up! Early Espresso. Baja Breeze, Pear Pizzazz & Whisper White; Other: Cardmakers ribbon & Nestabilities Lacey Circles
