Jumping on the Bandwagon

Okay, so I know I'm waaaaay late for this bandwagon but I have never been very good at keeping up with trends.  And even when I do get my hands on trendy products it takes me ages to get around to using them.  Take the stencil and spray mists that I used here - I had to wipe the dust off of both of them before I started!  Ah well, better late than never.  And you know what? I just might try this again.  It was pretty fun and I'm pleased with the final result.  So pleased in fact that I'm going to enter it into the Virginia's View stencil challenge and the Moxie Fab stencil challenge.  Yee haw!  Now off to dust off some more stencils…

CAS(E) This Sketch #72

Welcome to Week 72 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch by Julie Day:

My initial thought for this sketch was quite similar to Donna's so I decided to go back to the drawing board and ponder the design a little further.  And, just as I was dropping off to sleep the other night, it came to me - a Rubik's Cube!!  (Does that ever happen to you?  I keep a notebook on my bedside table now because I seem to get a lot of ideas as I'm drifting off to sleep.  Good for card ideas but not good for my beauty sleep!)  Anyway, I thought the WPlus9 sentiment would compliment the Rubik's Cube perfectly and hopefully it will go to an appreciative child of the 80s!  :)  I can't wait to see where this sketch takes your creative minds so break out the crafty supplies and get to work!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Real Red, Tangerine Tango, Daffodil Delight, Garden Green, Pacific Point, Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Stitched Flowers

***This is my second post for the day.  For my Curtain Call post please scroll down or

Man, it's feast or famine around here isn't it?  It's either a measly two posts a week or an excessive two posts a day!  I must get my scheduling a bit more under control.  (Story of my life!)  Anyway I'm here (again) with a card for two challenges.  I used the Dynamic Duos colours and the Stitched Faux or Real theme from CAS on Sunday. The dies and stamps are all NBUS (hi, Darnell!) and I'm wondering what took me so long especially with that fabulous Paper Smooches Hello. *Sigh*  So many products so little time…

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Melon Mambo, Tempting Turquoise) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower from Stitches & Swirls) Papertrey Ink
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black), Tsukineko

Baby Booties

When I saw the graphic for the latest Curtain Call Inspiration challenge I immediately thought of the Baby Basics set that Julie Day designed for Market Street Stamps (sadly another stamp company that is no longer in business).  It has these tiny little booties that I had yet to ink up so I thought it was time to let them shine.  I also broke out Studio Calico's Story Time 6x6 pads which I got in a sale from Two Peas.  They have so many adorable patterns so I decided to make a boy version of the card too.  Now all these pregnant ladies around me just need to start popping those kids out so I can send some cards! :D

I Appreciate You

***This is my second post for the day.  For my CASology post please scroll down or

Hello again!  I'm dropping in with a last minute card for the current CASE Study challenge.  I love Jaclyn's clean and crisp card with the pops of red. I used some Zing Rouge embossing powder for my flower - I love how bright it is and it has great texture too.  All the stamps on this card are NBUS (Never Before Used Schtuff) so I'm giving myself a little pat on the back for that.  :)  Hope you all have a lovely evening and I'll be back tomorrow!

CASology #90

Welcome to Week 90 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I had a few failed efforts at cards for this week's cue word.  There was an attempt at watercolouring that went very badly ending with me and a lap soaked with colorful water!  So, in the end, I took a less messy route and used this Lil' Inkers die to create some waves and accompanied them with a punny sentiment.  I used orange for the sentiment as it's a complimentary colour to blue and it really pops.  Since I used 3 of the die cuts I'm also going to join in with the Paper Players Three Spree challenge.  And now it's your turn!  Check out the gorgeous DT designs and then get to work!

And this week's guest designer:

Link your creations to the CASology blog and remember that the deadline for entries is Monday at noon (CST).

Your Special Day

***This is my second post for today.  For my Colour Throwdown post please scroll down or click here!***

Hi again!  I didn't think I'd make a card for this week's ColourQ challenge but I had a last minute burst of creativity so here I am!  I used the sketch from Lisa Arana's Wanna Sketch? challenge to help me along.  It's hard to see in this photo but the dots in the flower centre are Calypso Coral and they're covered with tiny dots of Stickles.  The flower and flourishes are from My Cute Stamps. They had a closing sale recently.  While I love a sale, its sad to see yet another stamp company closing.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill Basics, (Primrose Petals, Calypso Coral, Coastal Cabana, River Rock) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower & flourishes from Celebrate Today) My Cute Stamps, (Sentiment from You Said It, Sister) Fresh Squeezed Stamps
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Coastal Cabana) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Stitched Rectangles) Lil' Inker Designs, (Double-Ended Banners) Papertrey Ink
Punch:  (1/16" hole punch) McGill
Glitter:  (Star Dust Stickles) Ranger
