Wonderful in Every Way

Hi there!  I'm popping in with a card for the current Paper Players challenge to create a CAS card featuring a bird.  This Memory Box Perched Reed Bird is one of my favourite bird dies.  He looks great in just about any colour or pattern and works for so many occasions!  Here I cut him from Brushed Gold card stock and paired him with a selection of My Mind's Eye washi tapes.  Unfortunately the sentiment ("Wonderful in every way") is rather dark in the photo and while it's clear enough in real life I wonder if it might be even better if I made it again with white embossing powder…

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Rustic Cream) Papertrey Ink, (Early Espresso, Brushed Gold) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Everyday Greetings) Mama Elephant
Ink: (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Super Fine Detail Black) Ranger
Die:  (Perched Reed Bird) Memory Box
Gem:  Recollections
Washi Tape:  My Mind's Eye

This is so sweet! And I have actually made cards over again, because of having trouble with photographing them. (and sometimes I say "forget it.") ;)

I love your layering at the bottom and the texture they bring to your card and how they are the perfect place to rest your little bird. Gorgeous. So glad you joined us at the Paper Players this week

Clean and perfect, Jen! I love the sentiment and your use of Washi. I can't tell you how many times I have tweaked cards because they weren't photogenic...but I think this looks great. Thanks for playing at The Paper Players this week!

Jen, mega apologies for having fallen behind in commenting *hanging head in shame*! I have, however, gazed at, admired and oohed and ahhed over each and every one of your fabulous creations as they appear in my Feedly! Always, your innovative cards dazzle and delight! So much to marvel at! I'm going to stand myself in the corner for a bit, then hopefully, get my act together to stay on top of your creations (blaming my tardiness on new work duties, travel, more travel, more work and overall scatteredness, as I try to adjust to life with a piece - my dad - missing...). Thank you for understanding! Your card here: the sentiment captures it all! Wonderful to the max!

That bird is awesome, Jen. Love him in the burnished gold. There is just something special about little birds, isn't there? And I love all the washi tape he's perched on! I'm liking the sentiment in black. White against your browns and creamy colors might be too stark. Perfect colors on this great card! Stay warm! Bev
