Conquering The Colours!

The latest Play Date Cafe challenge was another one that almost thwarted me.  I pondered, flipped through my stamp books and discarded one idea after another until finally I looked at my dies and punches.  Some days I feel like I will never have another halfway decent idea again so it's always sweet relief when something finally comes together.  It also feels good to use things that have been languishing untouched for ages.  I had just been thinking the other day how I hardly ever use SU Tangerine Tango (I'm more of a Pumpkin Pie girl) or Garden Green and lo and behold they have made an appearance today!

Cardstock:  (Kraft) PTI, (Tangerine Tango, Garden Green, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Signature Greetings) PT
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Simple Circles Border) PTI
Punch:  (3/4" & 1" flowers) Woodware Craft Collection
Gems:  Craft Supplies for Less

Now that turned out really neat! Love the detail & dimension of all the punches/dies. I hate those "ack, why isn't anything working???" days - I'm having one today!

Just re-read my comment and realized it came out wrong! I took one look at the colours (NOT your card) and decided not to play this week. lol!

This is such a great use of the colors. And, I adore what you have done with that simple circle die. I forgot all about that one--great look with layering.

Those punches flowers are the perfect fit in the funky circles! Nicely done -- I'm not going near those colours. :D

This turned out really great! I love that border strip you've created. The orange flowers really pop against the greens, and your layout is fabulous. :) Ann

You know that's why we do these color challenges! Otherwise every card of mine would be kraft/red/black or white, white, white. You'll like my take...

This is such a stunner, Jen! Somehow many of your designs remind me of my hippie days in the 1960's - when I know you simply weren't around to gather the ideas! I am not generally a green fan, but you rocked it with this combo!

ok totally can't get with the colours in the challenge but totally adore the card, could you do it in blue or white or any other colour that's not as retro seventies ?!?!?

So many things to love about this card! Those layered flowers are incredible! And to put them inside of that border/frame? Awesomeness. And the way you triple layered the border die cut! Genius! I sold that die awhile back and now I'm totally kicking myself:)
