Super Cute Laundry

Hi there!

It was an absolutely perfect day here today - cool, dry, sunny and breezy.  It was wonderful to turn off the air con and have all the doors and windows wide open.  If I could bottle this weather and keep it forever I'd be happy.  :)

I've got a card to share for the current Card Concept challenge - for the clean and layered category I'd say.  I was inspired by the baby theme and the pastel drawers led to my colored rectangles.  The baby clothes and sentiment are NBUS from My Favourite Things.  This was a bit tricky to photograph as the coloured Bazzill paper has a bit of a shine to it.  I'm trying to use up some of the random pieces of coloured card stock that I have kicking around instead of always going straight for my Stampin' Up stuff.  I ended up making 2 since I originally cut 3 pieces of each colour.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Smokey Slate) Stampin' Up, (Pink, yellow, green, blue, white) Bazzill
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Welcome, Baby) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko

Birthday Bull Terrier

Hiya!

I'm here with two cards I made using the sketch over at The Paper Players.  They're basically the same - just different colour schemes.  I've used Studio Calico papers and coloured card bases.  (I'm trying to use more coloured bases to work through the insane amount of coloured card stock I own).  This Waffle Flower bull terrier is one of my new favourite pooch stamps.  He's so cute!  And easy to colour. Ha!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Pretty in Pink, Island Indigo) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Here & There 6x6) Studio Calico
Stamps:  (Dog, hat & balloon from Pawsome) Waffle Flower, (Sentiment from Beary Special Birthday) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko

You Rock

Hello there!  I feel like I've been gone for ages and not posting anything outside of my CASology challenge cards.  I did a 19 day stint at work (oof) and managed to get a nasty cold the first week which ended up turning into a sinus infection so it felt like a real slog by the end.  I'm glad to be back on a regular schedule and am catching up with all the things I've gotten behind on including crafty time.

I wanted to play along with this month's challenge over at Paper Smooches - Animals.  Of course it's ended up being the last minute but better late than never right?  This is another one of my inspired by Jennifer McGuire cards and I love the simplicity of it.  I know that it's just a rocking horse and not a real horse but I hope it still counts for the challenge.  A horse is a horse right?

I'm also going to play along with the Anything Goes challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.

CASology #268

Welcome to Week 268 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

At first glance this appears to be a tricky cue word but there really are a lot of directions to go with it.  I went pretty literally with my fortune cookie - and the fortune you hope you never receive!  You could also think of money, good luck, or even congratulating someone on their good fortune.  Also, as my teammie Jacquie pointed out, imagery associated with fortune telling - crystal balls, tarot cards, tea leaves etc. are perfect for this cue!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #267

Welcome to Week 267 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Originally I was going to make a card featuring a whale because blue whales are the biggest animals ever to have lived (as far as we know) and apparently their tongue alone can weigh as much as an elephant.  How's that for a crazy fact?  However, while looking for a whale stamp I stumbled across Ella the Elephant from (appropriately) Mama Elephant and she completely distracted me from the whale idea.  I think she still conveys the cue word pretty well though so I went with it.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #266

Welcome to Week 266 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I loved this July post from Jennifer McGuire about block watercolor stamping.  All those rainbow colours made me happy and it's the kind of watercolor look that anyone can manage.  I finally got around to trying it out and made 10 cards including this one with one of my favourite cake images (from Concord & 9th).  I love how the yellow is a little brighter just around the candles.  Kind of makes them feel like they're glowing.  Happy accident!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Tree Joy

I'm starting to feel a bit smug about my progress with my Christmas cards which probably means that my Christmas mojo will dry up any minute now so I guess I'd better make the most of it while I've got it.  The Merry Monday challenge is back and this week they want cards with the word "Joy" on them.  I used some Newton's Nook trees decorated with pearl gems that I coloured with a red Copic.  I added some Stampin' Up glitter tape and a sentiment from Paper Smooches.  I also made one with white glitter tape and still can't decide which one I like better.  The white glitter looks like snow which, living in Bermuda, I generally try to avoid on my Christmas cards but I'll let it slide for now.  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Kraft) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Trees from Festive Forest) Newton's Nook, (Sentiment from Joyful Greetings) Paper Smooches

Yeti for Christmas

Another Christmas card!  Yay!  Today's card was inspired by the sketch at Just Add Ink which I turned 90 degrees to the left.  I have a big box full of Christmas patterned paper (mostly 12x12s that I bought years ago) and I'm trying desperately to put a dent in it.  This pattern is from American Crafts and I managed to get a few cards out of it.  I felt like it was a good backdrop for this happy Christmas yeti.  How cute are his little fangs??
That's it for now.  Have a wonderful day!

CASology #265

Welcome to Week 265 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I didn't think I'd be playing along this week but I got a bit of unexpected free time so I was able to make a card.  It also helped that I had some inspiration from this week's Make It Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink - Small Images on Repeat.  Lack of mojo is a nightmare but once in a while inspiration pops up at just the right moment.  Thank goodness for that!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Bird in Wreath

I made this card a few days ago but have since been fighting off a summer cold (kindly gifted to me by my darling husband) and never got around to posting it.  However the Colour Throwdown challenge ends in a few hours so here I am at the last minute.  I'm continuing with my efforts to get ahead with Christmas cards and trying to make a few of each design (depending on how fiddly they are).  This one, being mostly die cuts, came together fairly easily so I made a few.  (Pats self on back).  Hopefully I'll have more to share later in the week.
