Hey There, Sunshine!

Happy Saturday!  It's been a gorgeous sunshiny day here with just enough breeze to keep it comfortable.  Luis has been busy mowing the lawn and I took Atti for a swim and worked on some cards.  This one is for three challenges.  I used the sketch from Lisa Arana's Wanna Sketch? challenge, the sun theme from Keep It Simple and am joining in again with the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.  The sun is from a Unity KOM from 2009 - an oldie but goodie!  I love the sketchy look of it.  (And I don't mean sketchy like dodgy!!)  Now off to get dinner in the oven and take Mr. Atti for a walk since he spent most of the day sleeping off his swim.  Have a wonderful evening!

Hello Sweet Friend

Good morning!  Popping in quickly before I head off to work with a card for Unity's Friends With Flair hop and also an entry for the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.  I used this sweet panda from the April KOM and some ancient patterned paper - circa 2007.  Remember Paper Pizazz?  I always feel so virtuous when I use some really old stash!  LOL!  Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Runway Love

Hello there, strangers!  I have a card here for the latest Runway Inspired challenge.  I realised once I had finished that there's no stamping on this card at all which is pretty unusual for me.  I was inspired by the colours and also the texture on the skirt and ended up using an embossing plate and a few dies plus some shiny paper.  I'm also going to enter this in the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.

It feels good to be back in the Craft Cave and catching up with everyone in Blogland.  I had to spend a few weeks in Boston with my mom for medical reasons.  It was tough to be gone for two weeks (I sure missed my boys!) but I'm grateful we had the option to go to such a first rate hospital.  Mom is doing as well as can be expected at the moment but there's still a long road of treatments ahead. Thankfully some of the treatments can be done here so we'll be home for a while. Thanks to those of you who touched base with me to see where I'd disappeared to.  It really did help to lift my spirits.  :)  Another uplifting moment came the night before my mom's surgery. There was a pretty wild thunderstorm and then the most gorgeous double rainbow appeared.  It was too close to our apartment for me to get a full picture of it but I got a few partials.  We took it as a good omen and it definitely was as the results from the surgery were more positive than initially expected.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Pink, Lilac) Bazzill, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Frame from Simply Jane) Papertrey Ink, (Love Word) Paper Smooches

CASology #47

Welcome to Week 47 of CASology!  Here's the cue word for this week:

When I started looking for wheel images in my stamp collection I realised that I have an awful lot of bicycle stamps that have never seen ink including pretty much this entire set from Hero Arts.  What better time than now to give the set some love!  I wanted to go super simple with a splash of colour so I pulled out the WPlus9 So 80s set (sadly discontinued) and rock and rolled this...  paint splodge?... in some neon-esque colours.  Then I stamped the bicycle over it, added a fitting sentiment and was on my way.  I think this qualifies as one of the quickest cards I've ever made!  Now, get those wheels in your brains spinning and show us your fabulous creations.  But first - check out the gorgeousness created by the rest of the DT:

And this week's guest designer:
