CASology #306

Welcome to Week 306 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Both this tiny bear and the bubble die are oldie but goodie Simon Says Stamp products.  The bubble die is a little fussy to work with but I like the lightness and openness of it - it adds interest to a CAS card without overwhelming it.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Link your creations to the CASology blog and remember that the deadline for entries is Monday at 9am (CDT).

A Happy Hello

Hello hello!

I was bummed I didn't get around to playing with the Reverse Confetti Stock Your Stash challenge last month but this time I am not missing it.  The theme is Hello/Just because and I kept mine pretty CAS.  I paper pieced the flower using RC papers and finished it off with a little twine bow and some Nuvo drops in the center of the flower.

Have a wonderful week!

Hi there!

Popping in quickly today with a card for the Simon Says Wednesday Bright and Cheerful challenge.  I have a lot of Newton's Nook stamps that are NBUS - a situation I really must rectify especially when the images are as adorable as this.  I also used some ancient patterned paper.  Whoop whoop!

Hapbee Birthday

Hiya!

I'm here with a card for two challenges - CAS(E) This Sketch and Inkspirational (use small stamps).  This little bee is a Paper Smooches guy and after fussy cutting those antennae the dies for this set have jumped high onto my wish list!  I think I also need some new scissors...

I stamped the background bees with a pale grey and then popped the main bee up on foam tape.  I used a few Nuvo drops instead of my usual gems to highlight the sentiment.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Bee from Courteous Cuties, Sentiment from Courteous Cuties 2) Paper Smooches
Ink:  (VersaFine Tuxedo Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko, (Limestone) Altenew

CASology #305

Welcome to Week 305 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I'm late to the action wobble game but I thought this Paper Smooches monster would give me the perfect opportunity to try one out.  Yup.  He's awesome and no, I'm sorry, I don't have a little video of it or even a photo.  You'll just have to imagine him springing back and forth like a lunatic.  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Defeated Bunny

Hi there!

I'm popping in with cards for two challenges today.  First up is for the CAS Colours and Sketches challenge using this adorable (but slightly broken looking) Honey Bee bunny.  He looks pretty much how I feel right now.  I upgraded the OS on my computer yesterday and it has rendered the damn thing almost useless.  I've spent the better part of the day trying to sort it out and am feeling rather defeated.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Cherry Cobbler, Soft Suede) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Lollipop Shoppe 12x12) Basic Grey
Stamps:  (Bunny, rug & mug from Blah Bunny, Sentiment from Blah, Blah, Blah) Honey Bee
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Markers:  (RV10, BG10, C1, C3, C5) Copic
Other:  (Nuvo Oyster Grey Crystal Drops) Tonic

Next is a card for Freshly Made Sketches.  I made it a landscaper card instead of portrait and paired these Honey Bee dies with Altenew flowers.  I tend to end up going pastel and pink when it comes to wedding cards so I wanted this one more neutral.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Smokey Slate, Basic Grey, Basic Black) Stampin' Up, (Vellum)
Stamps:  (Bamboo Rose) Altenew
Ink:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Mr & Mrs) Honey Bee
Other:  (Nuvo Aqua Shimmer Glitter Gloss) Tonic
Gems:  Recollections

Geometric Thanks

Hello!

Today I have a card for the AAA Cards Geometrics Challenge.  I used some MFT triangles to create the geometric panel and the many thanks die is Essentials by Ellen.  I cut it from patterned paper as well as black cardstock and layered it up.  Finally I coated it generously with Glossy Accents for a some shine.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Textured White) Bazzill
Patterned Paper:
Die:  (Many Thanks) Essentials by Ellen, (Triangles) My Favourite Things
Other:  (Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops) Tonic

What's Up, Giraffe?

Hi there!

I'm here today with a card for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge.  I paired a Simon Says giraffe with a sentiment from Altenew and some Studio Calico paper.  I really like the Simon Says picture book die collection but they're a bit fiddly to put together.  I wish they came with a second die of the solid outline so you could attach all the bits to it.  Since they don't does anyone have any tricks to make putting them together easier?

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Daffodil Delight, Tranquil Tide, Soft Suede, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Darling Dear 6x6) Studio Calico
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Geometric Menagerie) Altenew
Ink:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Picture Book Giraffe) Simon Says Stamp
Punch:  (2 1/2" circle) Marvy Uchida
Other:  (Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops) Tonic

Welcome to Week 304 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Today's cue word leaves things WIDE open for anyone playing along so I hope to see lots of you joining us!  I thought the patterns on these Newton's Nook stamps lent themselves perfectly to adding some pearls and I love how they pop against the black and purple.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Hello There

Hi there!

I'm popping in at the last minute to play along with the Addicted to Stamps and More photo challenge.  I was inspired by the succulents and it gave me the perfect excuse to break out these adorable Spellbinders dies sent to me by the fabulous Claire of Ham'n'Mule Designs.  I paired them with a Winnie & Walter sentiment and some My Mind's Eye washi tape for a simple but fun hello card.

Turquoise Gratitude

Hello there!

I've got a card for three challenges today - Muse, Freshly Made Sketches and Colour Throwdown.  I love white and turquoise together - it's such a bright and fresh combination - and I was inspired by Anita's blended background.  The FMS sketch is perfect for framing this Pinkfresh Studio die which is so gorgeous it really doesn't need much embellishment.

Hope you're all having a lovely weekend!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Heartfelt Sentiments) Altenew

CASology #303

Welcome to Week 303 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I've had this Taylored Expressions set for ages and was glad to have a chance to finally put it to use.  I love this sentiment - punny perfection!  I paper pieced this happy chicken and kept the same colour scheme when creating a platform to ground her.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Inlaid Birthday

Hello hello!

I've got a card today for the Seize the Birthday challenge (patterned paper) and the AAA Cards challenge (birthday).  This card was inspired by a really old card by Laura Bassen (which I cannot find a link for) but I used patterned paper (ancient stuff from Basic Grey) instead of stamping in which to inlay the happy birthday die.  There is also a scattering of clear Nuvo Drops which are kind of tough to see in this picture.  While this looks pretty simple it was SO fiddly putting those die cut bits back together!  Worth it in the end though as I think it looks pretty cool.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  Basic Grey
Dies:  (Happy Birthday) Paper Smooches
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Tonic

Hi there!

I'm popping in this morning with a card to share for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge and the Simon Says Wednesday challenge (Anything Goes).  I'm loving this Avery Elle mini set with this awesome shark and an adorable puffer fish.  I paper pieced this guy and used a MFT speech bubble for the sentiment.
