Have A Super Day!

I've got a super simple card today for the Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes challenge.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches (who else is still super heartbroken that they've closed?) and I wanted to give it a superhero feel so I went for Superman colours and a super star.  If nothing else I should win the award for using super too many times in one post!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Pacific Point) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Super) Paper Smooches
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

Christmas Bulbs

Today's card is for the Paper Players sketch challenge.  I seem to be making cards in threes lately but I guess it just makes sense to do it while all the supplies are out.  I love the richness of these Catherine Pooler inks - they definitely make the cards merry and BRIGHT!

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Merry & Bright) Reverse Confetti

Better With Sprinkles

Today's card is for CAS(E) This Sketch and I thought of this Newton's Nook stamp as soon as I saw it.  I'm not sure what I like better about this stamp - how adorable Newton is or how happy I'd be to stumble across a cat sized donut!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Bermuda Bay) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Happy Hooray 6x6) Pebbles
Stamps:  (All from Newton's Donut) Newton's Nook

Patterned Hello

Hi there!

Clearly this card is not my usual style but the challenge at Simon Says Stamp this week it to Layer It Up so I decided to stick a toe outside my comfort zone and see what I could come up with.  This took waaaaay too long to put together but I was determined to come up with something!  I broke out some Pinkfresh patterned papers and some dies from Paper Smooches and MFT and finally ended up with this.  I don't hate it but it's definitely a style I need to practice more.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  Pinkfresh
Dies:  (Hello, Notebook paper, Speech bubble) Paper Smooches, (Hearts) My Favourite Things
Other:  (Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops) Tonic, (Glossy Accents) Ranger

CASology #377

Welcome to Week 377 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

We are lucky to have an incredible sunset view over the water at our house and a boat sailing by silhouetted in front of a blazing orange sky is a beautiful sight.  I used the very versatile Skinny Stripes from Essentials by Ellen to create the graphic sunset and a long retired (but still very cool) sailboat die from WPlus9.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Outline Alpha Birthday

Hello there!

I've got a card today for three challenges - CAS Colours & SketchesFreshly Made Sketches and Darnell's NBUS challenge.  I broke out these Concord & 9th outline alphabet dies for the first time and used them to create some sentiment only cards.  I had to cut the letters from all 3 cardstock colours so I ended up making 3 cards.

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Birthday from Happy Snappy Crocs) Heffy Doodle
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

Yeti For Christmas!

Hi there!  I tried to spend my weekend craft time focusing on Christmas cards.  It's going to be here before we know it and people are already asking about the cards.  Yikes!  I just need about 100 more hours in a day!  Anyway this card is for the My Favourite Things sketch challenge.  This yeti with his underbite, adorable teeth and tangle of lights is such a cutie pie!

Scribble Tree

Today's card is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  I used the adorable scribbled tree from Essentials by Ellen.  It's a little bit Charlie Brown-esque but I love it.  I used some Nuvo drops to decorate it and scattered some others around it.

Why Fit In?

Today's card is for the CAS Colours & Sketches sketch challenge.  I had this EBE unicorn set on my desk from another card I had made and thought I'd use it again here.  I always seem to colour them with rainbow manes but hey, if it works it works!  I die cut the Avery Elle star frame and then cut it in half to use as the swirly part along the bottom of the circle.

Supplies Used:

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Rose Red, Daffodil Delight) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Unicorn from Unicorns 'N Rainbows, Sentiment from Pure Magic) Essentials By Ellen

I'm Not Lion!

Today's card uses the colours from The Paper Players and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch (I turned it 90 degrees to the right).  I layered some Heffy Doodle stitched circle die cuts and popped the Altenew lion and Paper Smooches speech bubble up on foam tape.  Once I stopped dithering about which order to layer the circles the rest came together quite quickly!

I actually played with the original sketch challenge back in 2015.  Here's my card from then:

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, Baked Brown Sugar) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Lion & sentiment from Geometric Menagerie) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Stitched Circles) Heffy Doodle
Other:  (Nuvo English Mustard Crystal Drops) Tonic

Purple Birthday Flower

This card is for the Just Add Ink (photo inspiration) and Inkspirational (Angle It) challenges.  Unfortunately I don't seem to have any ink that matches the gorgeous blue from the JAI inspiration photo (but I really need to find some to add to my collection!) so I went with purple shades when stamping this Altenew flower.  I knew I wanted to position it diagonally across the card front but it seemed a little plain so I added the striped paper for a bit of fun and to make a clear diagonal line.

Supplies Used:

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Perfect Plum) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Black & White Stripes 6x6) My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (Flowers from Handpicked Bouquet) Altenew, (Sentiment from Sentimental: Birthday) Winnie & Walter
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Soft Lilac, Lavender Fields, Deep Iris, Midnight Violet) Altenew
Dies:  (Flag) My Favourite Things
Other:  (Nuvo English Mustard Crystal Drops) Tonic

Ham It Up

Today's card is for the Fusion and the Seize the Birthday challenges.  I used the sketch from Fusion and took inspiration from the pig in the photo.  I had this little piggy stamped, partially coloured and ready to go in my scrap bag so I'm playing along with the Use Your Scraps topping at STB.  I found some fun and festive patterned paper for the background and die cut a few Reverse Confetti flags for the top corner.

Supplies Used:

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Calypso Coral, Mint Macaron) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Saturday 6x6) American Crafts
Stamps:  (All from Hog Heaven) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Flags) Reverse Confetti, (Stitched rectangle) Mama Elephant
Markers: (RV23, R17, G000) Copic

CASology #376

Welcome to Week 376 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Is it weird that I'm not really a drinker but my mind went straight to a dry martini when I saw this week's cue word?  I love the festive swizzle sticks that come with this little MFT cocktail stamp set - perfect for Christmas and birthdays!  Also it really is a brilliant birthday pun...

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Two Foxes

I've got two more cards from yesterday.  They're for the JUGS (Plaid) and Paper Players (Fall Critters) challenges.  I pulled out an older Lawn Fawn set that has a few adorable woodland animals in it.  This little fox is my favourite and I love how cute he looks sitting with his tail tucked up on that log.  The plaid paper is also Lawn Fawn - remember when this stuff was EVERYWHERE?  I have a bunch of it and have barely cut into it because most of it is so pretty.  Today I was brave and used two whole pieces!  Yay me!  I ended up making two slightly different cards for different occasions.  Which is your favourite?

Supplies Used:

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Bermuda Bay) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Perfectly Plaid: Fall 6x6) Lawn Fawn
Stamps:  (Fox & log from Into The Woods, Hat from Hats Off To You) Lawn Fawn, (Birthday from Labeled Messages) Mama Elephant

Thanks A Latte!

I had some rare weekday craft time today and made a couple of cards.  This one is for 4 challenges - CAS Colours & Sketches, Just Add Ink (Thank You), Simon Says Wednesday challenge (Anything Goes) and Time Out (Inspiration Quote).  I'm seeing lots of skinny stripes on cards lately and and wanted to use some here but ended up using different sized ones instead.  It's such a simple way to add some colour to a design that I have a feeling it may start showing up on more of my cards (I'm always a little late to the trend parties!).

Supplies Used:

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Flirty Flamingo, Melon Mambo, Rich Razzleberry) Stampin' Up
Stamp:  (Cat from Newton Loves Coffee) Newton's Nook, (Sentiment from Latte Love) Essentials by Ellen
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Tsukineko) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder: (Clear) Hero Arts
Dies:  (Speech bubble) XCut
Markers:  (R20, C1, C3, W1, W3) Copic
Other:  (Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops) Tonic
