Homestyle Holiday

Hello there!

I have a card (which I think falls in the Clean & Layered category) for the Card Concept photo inspiration challenge.  I pulled out some new Lil' Inker Designs goodies for this one.  I LOVE this plaid cover plate and used it on a few different cards yesterday.  I took my inspiration from the tree, the pops of red and the dark night outside the window.  I had a little trouble with lighting on this photo but on the tree it says, "May your days be merry and bright."  There are 5 different sentiment ornaments in the set.  I made a card with each and will share them later as I realised I didn't photograph them all.

Ornamental Newton

Hiya!

I've got a card today for two challenges - Freshly Made Sketches and the colour challenge at Inky Paws.  I hope my design isn't too much of a stretch in terms of the sketch but I had fun putting it together.  How cute (and naughty!) is Newton hanging off of this Christmas bauble?  I used some tree branches from Sunny Studios for the ornament to hang on.  It's either the biggest Christmas tree and ornament ever or Newton has been shrunk to the size of a mouse!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up!
Stamps:  (Newton & sentiment from Ornamental Newton) Newton's Nook, (Tree branches from Holiday Style) Sunny Studios
Inks:  (VersaMark, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko, (Gumball Green) Stampin' Up
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow

Flowers & Snail

Hello!

I've got three cards to share today.  First up is for the colour challenge at Just Us Girls.  I used some paint strokes from one of the Flora & Fauna texture sets to lay the colours down.  The flowers are Paper Smooches and they were each die cut and stacked with three layers to give some dimension.  The sentiment is from Altenew and I used Nuvo drops for the flower centers and to highlight the sentiment.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up!
Stamps:  (Paint stroke from Texture Set) Flora & Fauna, (Sentiment from Many Thanks) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko, (Tiki Torch, Tiara, Fiesta Blue) Catherine Pooler
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Dainty Flowers 2) Paper Smooches
Other:  (Nuvo English Mustard Crystal Drops) Tonic

The next card is for the CAS challenge at Addicted to Stamps and More.  I wanted to make a more CAS version of the first card.  This time I let the paint strokes overlap a bit and I stamped the Flora & Faun flower and sentiment directly onto them.  I used a Nuvo drop for the flower center and some clear gems around the sentiment.  I keep changing my mind about which one I like best.  Which one do you prefer?

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Paint stroke from Texture Set, Flower & sentiment from Octagon Greenhouse) Flora & Fauna
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Tiki Torch, Tiara, Fiesta Blue) Catherine Pooler
Other:  (Nuvo Black Crystal Drops) Tonic
Gems:  Recollections

Finally I have a card for the CAS(E) This Sketch challenge using the colours from CAS Colours & Sketches.  I turned the sketch 90 degrees to the right and pulled out this adorable Lil' Inker Designs Snailed It set.  I couldn't resist giving him a sparkly snail trail.  In fact, that may be the sole reason I bought this set...

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Cherry Cobbler, Mint Macaron, Tranquil Tide, Basic Black) Stampin' Up!
Stamps:  (Snail & sentiment from Snailed It) Lil' Inker Designs
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko, (Mint Macaron, Tranquil Tide) Stampin' Up
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Speech bubble) My Favourite Things, (Heart) Simon Says Stamp

CASology #322

Welcome to Week 322 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I really wanted to go the baby girl route with this card but then I stumbled across this Mama Elephant girl silhouette and realised she was in the NBUS category.  Perfect time to change that!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Ahoy!

Ahoy there!

It's been a grey, rainy weekend - perfect for hunkering down and crafting!  I've taken a little break from Christmas cards to restock some general card categories.  This card is for two challenges - CAS Colours & Sketches and AAA Cards On the Move challenge. The scallops on the sketch made me think of waves so I decided to use this adorable NBUS MFT sailboat.  I figured it could be used as a hello card or perhaps a new baby boy card.

Merry Dachshund

Hi there!

I've got a card to share for the Addicted to Stamps and More holiday challenge.  I've had these PTI Christmas dog stamps forEVER and I'm pretty sure this is the first time I've inked them up.  I made a bunch of different ones but this is my favorite.  Who can resist a dachshund in a sweater??

Joyous Poinsettia

Hello!

I've got a card to share for the Time Out challenge.  I was inspired by the way the red pops off of the grey in the Time Out photo as well as by the Christmas greenery in the background.  I fussy cut a poinsettia and heat embossed a sentiment (both by Altenew).  I highlighted the flower and leaves with Copics and added Nuvo drops for some texture and dimension.

CASology #321

Welcome to Week 321 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

When I was a kid I managed to break at least one glass ornament every year.  No matter how careful I was there was always one that "jumped" out of my hands and shattered on the floor so I feel for this kitty.  Hopefully Santa won't be too hard on him.  I mean really, how could you punish a face that adorable?

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Birthday Piggy

Hiya!

Today I've got a card for 3 challenges - the MFT sketch challenge, the Seize the Birthday challenge (Toppings: CAS) and the Addicted to Stamps and More challenge (Make Your Mark).  I turned the sketch 90 degrees to the right and inked up this adorable piggy for the first time.  I coloured him and the butterflies with Copics and used MFT patterned paper for the grass.

Wreaths & A Fox

I've got another couple of cards from yesterday's crafting session.  This one is for Freshly Made Sketches.  I pulled out a little used Stampin' Up set for this.  It's nice and easy to stamp the different layers of leaves and berries and it comes with two sentiments so of course I made two cards.  I used Nuvo Crystal drops for the berries.  I love those drops!  I really need want to invest in a few more colours one of these days.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive) Stampin' Up!
Stamps:  (All from Wondrous Wreath) Stampin' Up
Inks:  (Real Red, Certainly Celery, Wild Wasabi) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Joy, Noel) Stampin' Up, (Scalloped rectangle) Mama Elephant
Other:  (Nuvo Autumn Red Crystal Drops) Tonic

Next is a card for the Colour Throwdown.  This little Lawn Fawn fox was looking a bit dusty so I thought I'd put him to use.  I realize I probably should have used a little more brown in my design but it's there in the coffee cup so it's not completely missing!  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Slate Blue) Bazzill
Stamps:  (All from Winter Fox) Lawn Fawn

Panda & Abstract

Hi there!

It's been ages since I've done a non-CASology post but I had a lovely day in the Craft Cave today so I have some cards to share.  First up was inspired by Anita's card at Muse.  My original idea involved a lot more white and no yellow but I couldn't get it to look quite right.  I finally set it aside.  Maybe I'll go back and try to figure it out another time.  In the end I took inspiration from the teal and the balloon on Anita's card and came up with this little number.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Bermuda Bay) Stampin' Up!
Stamps:  (Panda from Pandamonium) Mama Elephant, (Sentiment from Sentimental:  Birthday) Winnie & Walter
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Balloon, Pierced rectangle) Lil' Inker Designs
Twine:  The Twinery
Washi:  Pebbles
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card using for CAS Colours and Sketches (colours) and the Simon Says Wednesday challenge (Thanks/Thanksgiving).  I broke out some NBUS Altenew stamps and tried to go a little abstract.  It's really not my forte but it was fun.  I definitely need to keep practicing though.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Rich Razzleberry) Stampin' Up!
Stamps:  (Squares & lines from Watercolor Frames, Dot pattern & sentiment from Halftone Circles) Altenew

CASology #320

Welcome to Week 320 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This little dude in his snazzy red glasses is most definitely a cool cat.  I used the Jillibean paper behind him to emphasize that not only is he a cool cat but he's a superstar too - double the compliment!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!
