CASology #271

Welcome to Week 271 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

The first thing that came to mind when I saw this cue word was Justin Bieber's song, "Sorry".  Clearly nothing came of that thought in the end but perhaps one of these days the idea in my brain will find it's way onto cardstock.  For now though we have the adorable Naughty Newton of Newton's Nook to illustrate the cue word.  I love this guy.  He's so darn cute you can't even get mad at him!  Actually the sentiment should probably be, "Sorry (not sorry)" because you know he is not at all distressed about the havoc he wreaks.  In fact, he even looks a little proud of himself...

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Chameleon Gators?

Somehow it's already Sunday night.  This weekend just flew by at a ridiculous speed.  I had hoped to get some more cards done today but my plans were thwarted by an unexpected nap attack.  Those things are so sneaky!  I blame it entirely on the giant stack of pancakes that I consumed this morning...

Anyway this card is one I made yesterday but forgot to photograph so here it is today.  It's for the MFT sketch challenge and the MFT colour challenge.  That gator has made another appearance although much more CAS than last time.  I used glossy black Nuvo drops for his eyes, framed the sentiment with a couple of gems and that was it!

Gators & Flowers

After a productive crafty day yesterday I have three cards to share with you.  I had planned to post some last night but we ended up watching a movie instead.  I'm trying, for once, to get through some Oscar movies before the awards show.  We watched Nocturnal Animals which has a Best Supporting Actor nomination.  Anyone seen it?  It was dark and devastating but full of amazing performances.

Anyway on with the cards.  First up is for Freshly Made Sketches.  I used an NBUS My Favourite Things alligator die along with some fun MFT papers to put this one together.  Love that 'gator!  He looks too cute to be snappy.  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Chocolate Chip) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Trail Mix 6x6) My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Jungle Friends) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Alligator) My Favourite Things, (Stitched Rectangles) Lil' Inker Designs, (Flag) Paper Smooches
Gems:  Recollections

Next is a card for CAS Colours and Sketches.  Another NBUS stamp set for me - this one from Altenew.  I love the fabulous layers on this rose image.  Hopefully I haven't used too much grey along with the colours but I figured I'd share it anyway.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Painted Prints Smitten 6x6) My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (Flower & sentiment from Painted Rose) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Rose Red, Cherry Cobbler) Stampin Up, (Victorian Velvet) Ranger, (Grout Grey, Cement Grey) My Favourite Things
Gems:  Recollections

Finally is a card for Muse.  I stuck very close to Anita's fabulous design just changing the colours and the sentiment and the edge of my panel.  I used some well loved Paper Smooches flower stamps and an Avery Elle sentiment.  I also made a second card using the left over frame from the die cut panel.

That's it for now.  Back tomorrow with some more!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Bold Blooms) Paper Smooches

CASology #232

Welcome to Week 232 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

We were lucky enough this week to each get a die to use on our cards from our sponsor Stamplorations.  I love this Oh Frap! die and thought it paired perfectly with this sentiment for an apology card.  I die cut the sentiment 3 times to give it some dimension and covered it with Glossy Accents for some shine.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #204

Welcome to Week 204 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I decided to go with a British version of "row" for my card.  When you have a row (rhymes with cow) with someone it means you've had an argument with them and after that you probably will need an apology card!  It gave me a good excuse to break out these NBUS Lil' Inker Designs cactus stamps and get them inky.  I know I'm pretty late joining in with the succulents trend but better late than never!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

CASology #197

Welcome to Week 197 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This week's cue word is really versatile.  It can be a noun or a verb and just by changing the pronunciation you get two totally different meanings of the word.  Originally I was going to go for tear (as in crying) and make a sympathy card but then I stumbled across this NBUS Newton's Nook stamp and decided to go for the other tear, as in to rip!  Newton is certainly one naughty cat but he's so darn cute...

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

CASology #137

Welcome to Week 137 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I've been wanting to use this cute little crab from Lawn Fawn for ages and today's cue word gave me a good excuse.  I had to pair him with a palm tree and a beach though because crustaceans on their own aren't necessarily tropical (Alaskan King Crab anyone?).  I figured he could use a nice strip of washi tape sand to cool out on while he made his apology.  :)  Now it's your turn to share with us where tropical thoughts take you.  Be sure to check out the gorgeous design team creations and then play along!

Challengerama!

Good morning!  I've got three cards to share with you today for a multitude of challenges.  I had planned to post a few of them yesterday but time ran away from me last night.  Luis and I recently started watching "Sons of Anarchy" and decided to watch "just one" episode after dinner.  Unfortunately an episode of SOA is like a potato chip - you can't stop with one.  Next thing we knew it was after 11pm and time for bed!  So I'm playing catch up this morning...

This first card is for the Colour Me…! Monochromatic challenge.  I stamped the Altenew bear in Night of Navy ink and then did a touch of watercolouring using just the ink from the image.  I've seen a lot of people do this to amazing effect but this was my first time trying it.  Definitely need some more practice.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Ranger, (Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Geometric Menagerie) Altenew
Ink: (VersaMark) Tsukineko, (Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Die:  (Nesties Standard Circles Large) Spellbinders

This second card is for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge.  This is my first time playing along with them.  I played with some NBUS Paper Smooches stamps with the initial plan of making a masculine birthday card but this could really be used for any sort of celebration.  And maybe it's not so masculine as I got a bit carried away with the bling…

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Pumpkin Pie, Not Quite Navy, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (All from Beboppin) Paper Smooches
Ink: (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Gems:  Recollections

And speaking of getting carried away with the bling the centre of this card has a lot going on in the gem department although I must say it looks far more understated in the photo that it does in real life!  This card grew out of inspiration from four challenges.  I was initially inspired by Vicki's card over at Muse.  I'm not really into shaped cards but I liked the bullseye look of the circles. It immediately made me think of this Hero Arts stamp that I've had for ages.  I stamped it on 3 different Doodlebug papers and then fussy cut it and put it back together.  I also added some hugs and smooches just in case anyone questioned the theme of the card!  LOL!  The love theme is a big one this week and Curtain Call, Addicted to Stamps and Just Us Girls have all asked us to create with love in mind.

Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, Smokey Slate, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  Doodlebug
Stamps:  Hero Arts
