CAS Flower Birthday

Good morning!

I have a card today for the Flower Challenge's CAS challenge.  I love the gorgeous simplicity of this Altenew flower.  The yellow background comes from their Watercolor Frames set and I love how it helps to pop the flower off of the page.  I decided since I had everything out I'd make the card in blue as well.  The colours came out a bit crisper on the second one but I also like the softness of the first one.  What do you think?

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Flower, Frame from Watercolor Frames) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, Altenew
Other:  (Nuvo Oyster Grey Crystal Drops) Tonic

Flowers in a Teapot

Good morning!

I have a CAS card for two challenges - CAS on Friday (Flowers) and The Flower Challenge (Anything Goes).  I inked up some NBUS Flora & Fauna stamps for this design.  The red flowers and shadow are stamped directly onto the card base and the large flower and teapot are popped up on foam tape for a bit of dimension.  The colour palette actually came from Tracey's Muse card but I was totally disorganized and missed the deadline for that.  Doh!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Flowers & teapot from You Me Teaset, Shadow from Texture Set) Flora & Fauna
Ink:  (Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko, (Crimson, Turquoise, Silver Stone) Altenew
Markers:  (YR04, Y38) Copic
Other:  (Nuvo Ebony Black Crystal Drops) Tonic

Flower & Dino

Hi there!

It's been ages since I've done any crafting - the last few weeks have been pretty intense.  I finally managed to get some time to create this weekend but it was VERY slow going.  It always takes a while to get back in the groove after a break but I'm glad to be back.

I've got two cards to share today.  First up is for Freshly Made Sketches and The Flower Challenge (Anything Goes).  I inked up this yummy Altenew lily with Altenew inks and paired it with a Winnie & Walter sentiment and some MFT paper.  It's ridiculous how long this took me to make but, like I said, it takes time to get going again.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  (Grey & White Basics 6x6) My Favourite Things
Stamps:  (Flower from Layered Lily) Altenew, (Sentiment from Sentimental: Birthday) Winnie & Walter
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Pink Diamond, Pinkalicius, Rubellite, Frayed Leaf, Forest Glades, Evergreen) Altenew
Gems:  Recollections

Next is a card for CAS Colours & Sketches and Seize the Birthday (Anything Goes).  This is the first time I've used this Paper Smooches dinosaur die.  How cute is he?  I paired him with an MFT sentiment but I thought he needed something to make him look a bit more celebratory so I dug out the Simon Says Stamp balloon for him to take along to the party.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Textured White, Green) Bazzill, (Crushed Curry, Bravo Burgundy) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Prehistoric Fun) My Favourite Things
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Dino) Paper Smooches, (Balloon) Simon Says Stamp

Dogs, Ornaments and Flowers

I am a sucker for pretty much any stamp set with dogs or cats in it so as soon as I saw them I knew I HAD to have these adorable Christmas pooches from MFT.  I've been coloring them all in today and then I made this card for the ornament challenge at Merry Monday.  This little guy couldn't be more perfect for it!  I actually made a second card with slightly darker colours.  I keep going back and forth on which I like best.  What do you think?

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Textured White) Bazzill, (Poppy Parade, Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Die:  (Joy) My Favourite Things
Markers:  (R17, R22, Y17, G05, G14) Copic

Next up is a card for two challenges - The Colour Throwdown and The Flower Challenge.  The Flower Challenge is celebrating their one year anniversary and wants us to use our favourite flower.  I have an awful lot of flower stamps and there are a few that I turn to more than others including this Altenew bloom.  It's popped up on my blog a lot and I especially love it embossed in white on black cardstock.  Here I paired it with some old Basic Grey paper and some PTI flowers.  It came together quite quickly so I made some more in different colours.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Kioshi 12x12) Basic Grey

Background Poinsettias

Hello and happy Saturday!
I'm working this weekend but have some cards to share that I've been working on over the week.  I've actually started to buckle down and get going on some Christmas cards which I'm very proud of.  Usually I go into panic mode around the end of October and never make as many as I want but this year will be different!
This card is for the Flower Challenge - Focus on background stamping.  The flowers and leaves are from Essentials by Ellen stamped with Altenew inks. The sentiment - both stamp and die - are from Winnie & Walter.  I added some Liquid Pearls to the centre of the flowers and scattered some gems around the sentiment.  I actually made 4 of these in the end.  Once I'd decided on the flower placements they moved along pretty quickly and they're also pretty flat for mailing.  Yaaassssss to that!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flowers & leaves from Mistletoe & Holly) Essentials by Ellen, (Merry from The Big, the Bold & the Merry) Winnie & Walter
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Ruby Red, Parrot) Altenew
Dies:  (Christmas) Winnie & Walter
Glitter:  (Clear Wink of Stella) Zig
Other:  (Buttercup Liquid Pearls) Ranger

Brusho Flower & Pink Butterflies

Hi there!  I have two cards to share today.  First up is for The Flower Challenge's sketch challenge and I'm also playing along with the Showers and/or Flowers challenge at the Simon Says Wednesday challenge.  I sprinkled and spritzed some Brushos onto watercolor paper and then stamped the Winnie & Walter flower and leaves over the colours.  I fussy cut them and popped them up on foam tape over the strips of glitter tape, added a Hero Arts sentiment and some gems and was done!  I'm pleased with how this flower came out.  On my first attempt I used way too much powder and water and the colours were so dark that the flower didn't show up.  I really need to devote a bit more time to playing with these powders.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (Flower from In Bloom: Addie's Garden) Winnie & Walter, (Sentiment from CL334) Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukeniko, (Jet Black Archival Ink) Ranger
Embossing Powder:  (Clear) Hero Arts
Brushos:  (Sunburst Lemon, Sea Green, Turquoise, Violet) Colourcraft
Tape:  (Black glitter tape) American Crafts
Gems:  Recollections

Next is a card for the Time Out photo inspiration challenge.  I love this picture and the feeling of movement from those gorgeous pink butterflies.  I dug out some My Favourite Things and Memory Box butterflies and plenty of Rose Red paper and set to work die cutting.  I had intended on a much more random placement of the butterflies but before I knew it I ended up with this symmetrical pattern so I just went with it.  A few of the butterflies are layered and the central ones have gems.  I like how it's kind of CAS and busy all at the same time.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Textured White) Bazzill, (Rose Red, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Scandinavian Prints) Neat & Tangled
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukeniko
Embossing Powder:  (Opaque Bright White Super Fine) Wow
Dies:  (Butterflies) My Favourite Things, (Butterfly Delights) Memory Box
