Stars & Cocktails

Today's first card is for two Hero Arts related challenges:  A Blog Named Hero has asked us to Make the Sentiment the Star and a2z Scrapbooking wants a CAS card using Hero Arts products.  I wanted to play with my embossing paste so I mixed my paste with some yellow ink and used a Stampin' Up star stencil to create the background.  The background was just perfect for this sweet sentiment and with it's different fonts and little stars it has enough personality to carry the card.  I embossed it onto blue cardstock to mimic the night sky and added a few yellow gems.  Super simple!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Night of Navy) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from CL582) Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder:  (Seafoam White) Ranger
Die:  (Stitched Rectangles) Lil' Inker Designs
Stencil:  Stampin' Up
Gems:  Recollections

This second card is for The Friday Mashup and I'm using both parts of the challenge - a project with food or drink on it and it's coloured with markers.  I stamped, coloured and cut out these adorable drinks and sunglasses from Paper Smooches and pieced them onto the card base - some flat and some with dimensional adhesive.  The washi tape is a new Duck Washi that I got while I was on vacation and I thought the ocean vibe of it went perfectly with the tropical drinks.  That's it for now - it's time to head off for my first day back at work but I'll be back tomorrow.  Have a wonderful day!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (All from Get Outta Town) Paper Smooches
Inks:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Markers:  (R22, R35, YR04, YR31, Y17, Y38, YG95, E04, E29, E33, E35, C1, C3) Copic
Washi Tape:  Duck Washi
Gems:  Recollections

Two absolutely adorable cards...love, love, love them. The embossing on the first is so crisp and perfect and the coloring on the second is fabulous (you need to enter it over at PS Sparks!)

Cocktails? Did someone say cocktails? You might notice that I came arunnin', but it's not because of that. Honest. Hic. I was heading over here anyway! Both cards are delish, Jen! But I have to say, that happy place is looking like a lot of tropical fun to me!! Enjoy your day! Hugs, Darnell

Two wonderful cards, and I have to say that my very favorite is the second one. It looks like a wonderful picnic scene, and I would love to fly over and join you in your happy place for cocktails.

Such a great use of an adorable sentiment. I just love this sentiment and stars in the background are the perfect accent. Thank you for joining us at A Blog Named Hero.
