Vroom Vroom!

I'm playing along with three challenges for this card.  I started by using the sketch from The Paper Players.  I flipped it 180 degrees and simplified it a bit - no element across the top of mine (so it might be out of the running but so be it).  I stamped and  paper pieced the scooter instead of colouring it (because I prefer paper piecing) and so this is eligible for Young Crafters Unite's challenge - No Colouring Allowed..  How perfect for me!  And finally, of course, this is going in for the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes Challenge.
That scooter reminds me of my first bike.  Here in Bermuda you can get a bike license when you turn 16 (no car license until you're 18).  You can also only have one car per household so most families have a car and a few bikes on hand.  I made a Father's Day card because more often than not the moms around here commandeer the cars so dads go off to work on their scooters in their Bermuda shorts with their ties flapping in the wind.  :)
Cardstock:  (Cream) Pacon, (Tangerine Tango, So Saffron, Marina Mist, Soft Suede) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Scooter & smoke from Spiffy Scooters, Sentiments from Birthday Buddies, My Guy, & Alphadots) Paper Smooches
Ink: (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

This is so cute! I love your take on the sketch! Fun colors too! :-)))

That in interesting about the one car per household. Ugg!

I think the no car license till 18 is a good idea!

I suppose if the number of cars wasn't limited to one per house the rock would sink under the weight of rubber and metal!!! *wink* ...we wouldn't want that :0)
Love your texty background and liberal take on the sketch...great switch around :0)

This is seriously cool! I've always loved scooters! {Who didn't want a Vespa back in the day?} I just love the background stamping you did on this card!

I had no idea about the car limit on Bermuda. Makes sense though!

Hope you're having and awesome day Jen!

Now I'm smiling at the thought of ties flapping in the wind...lol! Love the scooter, and perfect take on the sketch. Sticking to them too literally can be mojo-killing :)

FABulous card Jen! Love your sentiment bg and that gorgeous bike! I'm a big scooter fan and have been riding one for years... my poor hubby was a little miffed as he had to ride it today as I'm taking our kitten for her vaccinations (and it looks like rain - total dry weather rider he is), he can't understand why I won't take her on the bike (lol)!

I love the scooter! That's so fun for a father's day card--especially hearing that men usually ride scooters to work. Your background stamping is super fab!

Adorable! love the colors and the story on the scooters in Bermuda! Now I understand the car/bike ratio in Bermuda. When hubby and I vacationed (cruised) there a couple of years ago, I was totally fascinated by the # of men scootering around on bikes. Thanks for the background story!
