1 Design - 4 Challenges

I wanted to play along with the latest Lawnscaping challenge to use patterned paper and I thought this tree from Critters in the 'Burbs would be perfect to paper piece.  As I started looking at patterned papers I realised that I could use the design for a few other challenges as they each required using a different type of pattern.

CAS-ual Fridays wants us to use polka dots in our designs this week and I found this green polka dot paper that would be perfect for my tree.
Over at the Moxie Fab World Cath has several challenges on the go including the Gingham Challenge...
...and the Damask and Brocade Challenge.
They would make a cute set I think although maybe with a different sentiment.  I'd feel bad for anyone who missed that many people that they had to buy "Miss You" cards in bulk!

Let's Party!

The Paper Smooches Sparks challenge this week is to be inspired by these bright, fun prints.  I was drawn to the pink, yellow and brown stripes so I cut a bunch of thin strips of cardstock to make my own striped background.  The yellow and brown made me think of the giraffe from Zoo Crew and the colours seem perfect for a party.  The giraffe even dressed up her horns with some pink bling! Hope you've all had a lovely weekend!

Graphic Flowers

Howdy all!  It's a gorgeous day here with sunshine and a lovely breeze.  My arms are rather pink after sitting on the patio for lunch and then taking the hounds for a swim!  I spent some time in the Craft Cave as I wanted to get a card done for this week's ColourQ challenge. I love the bright colours and those super cute towels.  I played around with a few ideas involving polka dots but was finally drawn to the hexagons from Paper Smooches' Vogue Abode set.  Initially I was going to lay them out in a striped pattern but it wasn't quite working for me and I finally came up with these graphic looking flowers.  Kind of fun huh? Young Crafters Unite is currently running a flower challenge so I'm going to enter this over there as well.

Smooches Love

I've been seeing lots of rainbow goodness popping up on blogs lately thanks to Virginia's Rainbow Inspiration Challenge so I thought I'd play along. How fun are those cello cases in the inspiration pictures?  I pulled out some Paper Smooches stamps and did some simple stamping on coloured card stock.  These colours from the Stampin' Up  Brights collection seem to be my go-to choices when it comes to rainbows.  They are so bright and cheery! And here's to a bright and cheery weekend!

Blingin' Ferris Wheel

I ended up doing a lot of running around today and so only had about an hour in the Craft Cave. Enough time to put together a card for the CAS-ual Fridays Put A Bling On It challenge.  I inked up some new (to me) Lawn Fawn stamps, did some embossing and highlighted the ferris wheel with rainbow coloured gems.  I actually bought this set purely for the balloon image (does anyone else do silly things like that?) but after spending some quality time with the set today I think I'll get more than a fair bit of use out of most of the images!  Gotta dash and walk the hounds.  Currently they're having a wonderful time chasing each other around the living room - without touching the ground as they're bounding from sofa to sofa!!!  *Sigh*

Sunshine And Sea

I'm playing along with three challenges today - the Skipping Stones Colour Inspiration challenge, the Paper Players Summertime challenge and the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.  I used one of the patterns from the SSD Grunge collection for the waves and a sentiment from SSD's Uplifting.  The sun is an MFT die that I don't think I've used before.  Looking at it now, perhaps I should have stamped the water pattern the other way round to look more wavelike...  Hmmm...  Oh well.  It's done and I like it so that's that!  :)  Have a good day!

Smooches Inspiration

I've seen some fabulous interpretations of the picture at the Paper Smooches Sparks challenge this week although I struggled with my own idea.  It required some masking that I just could not get right but I wanted to get an entry in so I abandoned the original and went for a simplified version.  I was inspired by the colours and the little vase on the piano and I used stamps from Vogue Abode and Perky Plants.  I'm also going to enter this over at Simon Says Stamp's Anything Goes Challenge.

We had a pretty lazy morning her as it was pouring outside. Hurrah for water in the tank!  We watched some of the festivities on the Thames in England and almost felt like we were there since the weather here was just as bad.  :)  Hope it clears up for the next two days for you guys!
