Butterfly Flashback

It's Flashback Friday time again!  For this challenge we are to share our first card with a butterfly.  Holy cow!  Look at all that patterned paper!!  LOL!  This card was posted here in January 2011.  I was still very much finding my feet in terms of figuring out my style and funnily enough I used a sketch challenge for this card.  Guess I developed my aversion to them fairly early on...  It's a tad lost in all those patterns but the butterfly is there on the top right corner of the sentiment panel.  If you haven't played along with Flashback Friday before then you must go check it out.  Not only is it fun to look back at how our styles have changed but there are also always fabulous prizes.  Here's the current prize from Simply Cute Creations:
How fabulous would that look in the Craft Cave!?!  Very cool.  If you want to be in with a chance to win then dig into your archives and head on over to Flashback Friday!  Good luck!  :)

Die-cut Flashback

Yikes!  Almost missed out on entering the latest Flashback Friday Challenge - first project using a die cut.  This card is from December 2010 and the original post can be found here. I remember that when I finished and looked at it I wished I'd embossed the card base - looks a bit plain - but I wasn't going to pull it apart and start again.  I also (according to my post) had some trouble figuring out how to open my first Stampin' Up ink pad!  LOL!  My blondness really gets the best of me some days...

Flashback Friday 21.0!

I am super excited to be the latest guest designer for the Flashback Friday Challenge!  The challenge was created by the fabulous Amy Tsuruta and if you've never played along before then here's the scoop:

You are asked to share your "first" of the challenge at hand.  You'll have to go way back to the beginnings of your blog, find the project that matches the challenge and repost the picture in your new blog entry.  What if just seeing the project again makes you cringe you ask?  That's part of the fun - to see how we're all growing as crafters!

And not only is this challenge fun but there's a prize too!  Our fabulous sponsor is Paper and Such!

Paper and Such is an online store that opened in May of 2011.  Shortly after opening, we decided to begin our own stamp line, and it's been nothing short of exciting.  Our stamps are clear photopolymer, and are made right here in the USA!  Our HOT SHOT line is a line of chicken stamps - if you haven't seen them, be sure to check them out.   We are constantly adding to our stamp line, and love to hear what our customers want.  We also love to see what you make with our stamps!

We are trying to carry a variety of stamps and supplies to suit everyones style, and we are constantly adding to our inventory with different manufacturers.

Not bad huh?  So are you ready to play along?  Okay, here we go.  My challenge for this week is:
Your first paper-pieced card!

I love paper-piecing and was excited to see when I had first tried it out.  I found this card from December 2010:
It's not the boldest of paper-pieced projects but it's where I started and interestingly the original blog post is about embracing the learning process.  You can see it here.

Okay, now it's your turn and I can't wait to see what you find in your blog's history!  Link it up at Flashback Friday for your chance to be in with a win!

Black & White Flashback!

I wanted to play along with Amy Tsuruta's Flashback Friday Challenge which this time around involves sharing your first black and white card.  After scrolling through my entire blog it turns out that the first black and white card I made was just a few weeks ago!  Not much of a flashback but you can check out the original post here.  If you've never played along with Flashback Friday before then now is definitely the time to join in on the fun as Amy has amassed a whopping prize package in honour of this being the 20th challenge.  Scoot on over there and hop along with all the past designers for some fun and a chance to win!
