Despite wanting to toss my paints and brushes out of the window I'm continuing to mess around with watercolors in the hopes of one day feeling vaguely confident in my abilities with them. I ended up trashing a lot of cards but I finally came up with this one. It's a long way from the work of the designers I admire but it's a tiny step in the right direction for me (at least compared with everything else I made this week)! I'm going to enter it over at the Addicted to Stamps Make Your Mark challenge (use markers, pencils, paints, etc). And now I'm off to work - my last day! Hope you have a lovely weekend!
Supplies Used:
Cardstock: (White) Ranger, (So Saffron, Basic Grey) Stampin' Up
Stamps: (Flowers from Water Blooms) Mama Elephant
Ink: (VersaMark) Tsukineko
Embossing Powder: (Seafoam White) Ranger
Die: (Thanks Script) Mama Elephant
Gems: Doodlebug

PLEASE don't toss the paint and brushes out because your card is so beautiful!!!
Looks like we're both experiencing on-again, off-again relationships with our water-colours. Your card here, though, reveals it's on-again for you. Your flowers are lovely! Thank you for sharing your oh-so-pretty make-your-mark beauty in the ATSM gallery!

It's really lovely Jen. I think you've done a fine job with the watercolors. Love the colors you've picked, and especially how you've got gray and yellow. The flowers and leaves really pop. Keep up the good work! Happy Saturday!! Bev
No need to toss those supplies Jen, this is PRETTY!!
You are just way too hard on yourself, Jen! This is a very lovely card that anyone would cherish! Happy last day!! Hugs, Darnell
I think this turned out beautifully, Jen. That loose watercolor background is a real bugaboo. I do better just painting the images.
Jen you're too hard on yourself. I think this is absolutely gorgeous.
This is just gorgeous. Love the water coloring and the inlaid die cut. Good to see you have completely mastered your water colors.
Wait, what? Your last day on the job? What's up? As to your card... I say you are selling your watercolour skills short. This is such a pretty card!
LOVE!!
Love the sweet colors and stamps you have chosen! the yellow backstock adds such a punch too.!! Lovely!!!!
Love the inlaid thanks and the embossed flower posy. Well done persevering with the w/c technique, it looks v pretty and spring like.
Thanks for sharing with us at ATSM. :)
I really like this, and backed with that yellow cardstock, it's just perfect! Your water colouring has done you proud!! love it!
I think your watercoloring came out great!!!
I chuckled when I read your post Jen - this is amazing and I think you can put yourself up there with those other talented watercolour artists!
I agree with everyone else.... don't quit on watercolour, I love how you've used them to highlight this image. Last day?? are you changing jobs or taking a break?

Well, I can't see any problem with your abilities here. This is beautiful, Jen. Hang on to those watercolours because this certainly worked! Thanks for sharing with us at ATSM this week, Anita x
This is absolutely gorgeous!! I'm starting to think the trick to watercolouring is embracing what feels like imperfection :)
