CAS(E) This Sketch #30

Welcome to Week 30 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch designed by N@ Ali:

I flipped the sketch upside down so that my safety pins would be right side up and stamped and embossed my sentiment in white.  I used the colours from this week's Dynamic Duos challenge - so perfect for a baby boy card!  I'm also going to enter this card in the Simon Says Stamp Anything Goes challenge.

I'm looking forward to seeing where this sketch takes you all.  Check out the rest of the DT designs here and then play along!

Happy Birthday, Ardyth!

The fantabulous Darnell (of djkardkreations) is hosting a birthday surprise for the equally fantabulous Ardyth (of MASKerade) today!  Darnell will have a linky at the end of this post for anyone who wants to send some birthday love to Ardyth.  If you've never checked out either of these ladies' blogs then you are missing out on amazing cards and lots of laughs. You must go stroll through their creations!  :)

Since Ardyth is forever turning cool pictures into even cooler cards I decided to use a photo inspiration for my birthday card and went with the latest inspiration picture from Just Us Girls.  How cool is that cake?  Yellow and grey + polka dots + chevrons = serious yumminess!!

Ardyth, I hope that you have a fantastic day and that everyone spoils you rotten!  Big hugs to you!

CASology #46

Welcome to Week 46 of CASology!  Here's the cue word for this week:

We have a sponsor this week and it just so happens that they have a ton of stamps that would work perfectly with this week's cue word.  Paper Smooches has so many cute critters  in their collection that it was hard to narrow down the list and decide which to use. I finally went for this sleepy eyed bear because everyone needs a good bear hug now and then don't they?  :)  I'm super excited to see all of your creations this week but be sure and check out the fabulous DT creations first:

Case Study Throwdown

Another long weekend is drawing to  a close.  As Luis said (insert heavy Portuguese accent), "Much one day finish.  Much one weekend finish.  Everybody much old."  LOL! Some of the things he comes out with slay me and I love him to bits for it.  I am grateful that after 7 years together we still make each other laugh every day.

I only spent a few hours in the Craft Cave this weekend but managed to come up with a couple of cards. This one uses the colours from The Colour Throwdown and is loosely inspired by Maile's card at CASE Study.  How gorgeous is that multi layered dimensional flower?  A real jaw dropper.  I was inspired by the placement of the flower in the corner of the card, the popped up flower and the gems on the leaves.  I added some black Stickles to the centre of the flower too for some extra sparkle.

Back to reality tomorrow.  Hope you've all had a lovely weekend - and for you US gals I hope your holiday tomorrow is a good one too!

Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill

Colourful Muse

I don't tend to do a lot of colouring on my cards but after seeing Marion Vagg's beauty over at the Muse challenge I decided to spend some quality time with my Copics.  This Market Street Stamps image has been waiting patiently for some time now to be inked up and I can't believe I waited so long!  I had a really fun time colouring it in and have got to remember to break out my markers more often.

Guy Card

The Paper Players are looking for CAS masculine cards this week.  I pulled out some older stamps from WPlus9 and Skipping Stones Designs for this card and also broke out some eyelets.  Those babies sure don't see the light of day very often...  :)  I also tried my new Zing embossing powder.  I love that bold green! More of these powders will quickly be making their way onto my wish list.  My long and neverending wish list...  *Sigh*

Friday Casualness on a Wednesday

Hello again!  I'm excited for tomorrow because after that we have a three day weekend for Bermuda Day! Whoop whoop!  Hopefully it will be nice and warm because it's officially the first day of the year that Bermudians go for a swim.  We'll see if I make it. I'm more of a July sort of girl myself...

As for my card, it's my entry for the CAS-ual Fridays challenge to stamp on patterned paper. I used some yummy Authentique paper and a lovely Craft's Meow butterfly image.  A bit of creative trimming, some bling and we have a card!  :)  And with that I am off to bed as tomorrow promises to be a long one.   Have a lovely evening!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Rustic Cream) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Fusion Flower

Good morning, all!  I'm playing along with two challenges with this card.  Both the sketch and the photo at the latest Fusion challenge inspired the design.  I love the grey polka dot paper and found a pretty good match in my stash.  The flower is an oldie (but goody!) Hero Arts cling stamp.  Since I used the HA stamp, and it's a clean and simple card, I'm also entering it into A Blog Named Hero's CAS challenge.  I used up a lot of bling in the centre of that flower!  The stash of gems I got from my Christmas trip to Chicago is dwindling fast.  Oh to have a Michael's in Bermuda!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Kraft) Gina K., (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Dots & Stripes Metropolitan collection) Echo Park
Stamp:  (Flower) Hero Arts

CASology #45

Welcome to Week 45 of CASology!  Here's the cue word for this week:

As soon as I saw this week's cue word I knew I wanted to use this Unity sentiment.  I love it and it's been used more than a few times (like here and here).  Since I've used it with a crown before I decided to go for a different image and pulled out this chess piece from Fresh Squeezed Stamps.  I couldn't totally resist the crowns though as you can see from the patterned paper - some long hoarded DCWV paper at that!  Whoop whoop for using stash! Okay, your turn to show us some royal designs.  Check out the gorgeous parade of inspiration from the DT and then get craftin'!

And this week's guest designer:

Telephone Greetings

Good morning, all!  I have my first of two posts today.  This is my entry for the CASE Study challenge and the Create colour challenge.  The Create colours worked perfectly with this week's CASE Study challenge - a gorgeous Maile Belles special!  Maile is a one-layer master.  I pretty much want to Pin everything she makes.  :D

Unfortunately my Calypso Coral is looking a little orange in this photo but it is coral!  The Paper Smooches telephone is previously uninked so I'm happy to give it a moment in the spotlight and the Hero Arts sentiment is well loved and often inked - I love it's perfect simplicity!  See you back in a few hours for CASology!

Neglected Flowers

***This is my 2nd post for the day.  For my Colour Throwdonw post please scroll down or click here.***

I've had this Botanical Silhouettes set from Papertrey Ink for ages but I don't think I've ever inked up anything but the sentiments!  Thankfully, ColourQ helped me to remedy that little problem with this week's colours.  And since we have several flowers on this card I'm going to play along again with the Simon Says Stamp Flower Power challenge.  Sweet dreams and I'll see you tomorrow with two more posts!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Calypso Coral, Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Cheesy Grin

I wish that I could bottle up the weather today and keep it forever!  It was absolutely perfect out - warm sunshine, cool breeze and low humidity.  Glorious. Poor Atticus has been run ragged because I kept taking him out to play ball just to be outside instead of in the Craft Cave doing my work.  LOL!

Today's card is bright and cheery just like the weather.  I used the colours from The Colour Throwdown and the Flower Power theme from the  Simon Says Stamp challenge.  The Paper Smooches stamp is an oldie but a goodie and always makes me smile.  Who could resist the cheesy grin on that flower?  Hope it makes you smile!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Lucky Limeade, Tempting Turquoise) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Flower from Perky Plants) Paper Smooches, (Sentiment from Think Big Favourites #2) Papertrey Ink

1st Birthday

This week's Muse card by the fabulous Therese Calvird came along at the perfect time for me.  It's my Goddaughter's 1st birthday party on Saturday and I needed to make a few cards for her.  I actually bought this stamp set after being inspired by a few of Therese's cards so it seemed only right that I use it here.  Aside from the stamp itself I was also inspired by the sweet colours, the patterns and the banner.  It also got me to use some long hoarded My Mind's Eye papers (remember the Quite Contrary collections?) and that is always a good thing!  Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!

Crocheted Mat

***This is my second post for the day.  For my CAS-ual Fridays/Paper Players post please scroll down or click here!***

Happy 1 year anniversary to Dynamic Duos!  How quickly the time flies - I can't believe it's their 52nd challenge already...  For this week's challenge we get to choose any past colour combo to use.  I went with Week #15 - Certainly Celery and Pretty In Pink (although my colours look quite a bit darker in the photo...)  Anyway I'm excited to show off the crocheted mat I used for this card.  The fabulous Jessi Fogan of onecraftymama makes and sells these fabulous layering mats.  They come in a few different colours and add a gorgeous touch of texture to your card.  Be sure you check out Jessi's blog - even if you're not shopping for crocheted mats reading a few posts will be sure to give you a good giggle!
