Sympathetic Fusion

After lurking around their blog for the last few weeks I'm finally getting around to playing along with the Fusion challenge.  I used Jackie's sketch and pulled some of the colours from Lesley's photo.  I also dug out my Fiskars crimper - it's been a while since that thing has seen the light of day!  LOL!  I used it because the die cut bird actually faces the other way and I didn't really like the texture of the backside of it.  So I decided to crimp it to make it look like it was supposed to be a bit funky.  :)

Before I go I thought I'd share a picture of what I woke up to this morning.  If every Monday was like this maybe they wouldn't be quite so painful...  Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Rustic Cream) Papertrey Ink, (So Saffron, Certainly Celery, Marina Mist)  Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Botanical Silhouettes) Papertrey Ink
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Forest Bird) Memory Box, (Leafy Vine Border) Papertrey Ink

Are you kidding me? That view is to die for, girlfriend. I'd never go to work if I had to walk away from that. Love this birdie and all his glorious texture. Sympathy cards are so darn tuff to make - you did real good, kiddo.

Doesn't that view just make you look forward to the rest of the week ... Gorgeous, just like the card. The bird looks so sweet and I am so pleased there are still uses for those old presses I have!

Yahoooooo....so glad you're playing with us at Fusion. Your card is lovely...check out that crimper action....I'll need to dig mine out. It really is a great way to add some texture.

Okay, now if I woke up to that view, I wouldn't want to leave my house!

Isn't it a pain how the cutting plates do that to the back of the die-cuts!! this is a great way to save them tho :0)
