CASology #36

Welcome to Week 36 of CASology!  Here's the cue word for this week:

We have a new sponsor for this challenge who will be offering up a prize for this week's winner.  The Alley Way Stamps has quite the collection of fun and cute images.  Be sure to check them out!

Now I really thought someone had it in for me this week.  The cue word "Song" seems simple enough but when my Alley Way stamps arrived I thought I was in big trouble. Here's the set I received:

Hmmm....  Now I know a lot of silly songs but I certainly don't know any about sushi! LOL!  Thankfully though there's a lovely origami bird image in the set so I took my inspiration from Bob Marley's "Three Little Birds".  A bit of paper piecing, an oversized sentiment and I had a card.  *Whew!*  Your turn now.  Check out the rest of the inspiration from the DT and then get crackin'!

Link your creations to the CASology blog and remember that submissions are due by 4pm CST Sunday, 24 March.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Rustic Cream) Papertrey Ink
Patterned Paper:  My Mind's Eye
Stamp:  (Bird from Sushi Bar) The Alley Way Stamps, (Sentiment from Grand Greeting) Lawn Fawn
Ink:  (VersaMark) Tsukineko

Fabulous idea of incorporating a song into this design. You are right it must have been tough. The only thing I can think of is using a sushi roll and stating "Shake, Rattle and Roll'. LOL!

Nice save! Good thing there are so many ways to interpret the cue. I really like the patterned paper cranes, they look so classy.

Great save and a great song too, well done Jen! Maybe somewhere there may be a song about fortune cookies.... but I don't know it lol.

Don't get me wrong, Jen, I love your card - origami cranes have always had a special place in my heart. But when I read your post and saw this cute stamp set, all I could think of was a song my Dad sang with his uke (modified for the stamp set), "If You Knew Shushi Like I Know Shushi; Oh What a Gal!"Maybe you are too young to know it......hugs!

Love your origami song birds. You were very clever to make this set work so well for the challenge.

Hahaha! You did SO very well with what you were given! :) Me? All I can think about looking at that set is "Chopsticks," a song I used to play repeatedly on the piano as a girl! LOL!
Way to go! It's funny you chose that particular song for your inspiration too as I just purchased that very song for my ipod a few weeks ago! :)

Okay, I get it now. That's one of my favorite songs, too. I was thinking "Happy for You...maybe that's a new song?" Brilliant! I love it, and I love that set, too.

How clever, Jen! I love these paper pieced Origami birds! I actually thought you had folded them at first look. I'm terrible at folding so this set would be perfect for me. Need to go take a closer look.
