Sunny Vibes

I had such good intentions of being a crafting machine over the weekend but between the glorious weather and a book that just had to be finished, I really didn't see much inside the Craft Cave. Thankfully I had some time today.  I got a few special orders done as well as this card for the March Paint The Town Challenge at Market Street Stamps.  I stamped the Here Comes the Sun background in VersaMark ink on So Saffron cardstock.  I stamped it again, fussy cut the rays and mounted them on top of the first one.  Then I punched a circle, stamped it with Bit of Burlap and layered it on top.  After that I stamped the tag and sentiment and attached it to one of the rays with twine and some dimensional adhesive. Not the best picture and I'm not sure if I love it but I'm trying to keep challenging myself with my small supply of MSS stamps.

Cardstock:  (So Saffron, Night of Navy) Stampin' Up, (Vintage Cream) PTI
Stamps:  (Here Comes the Sun, Bit of Burlap, Tag from Make a Memory, Sentiment from Hippie Chic) Market Street Stamps
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, VersaMark) Tsukineko, (Tempting Turquoise) Stampin' Up
Punch:  (1 1/2" circle) EK Success
Twine:  (Caribbean) The Twinery

What an amazing way to use that stamp! I like the burlap print on the sun, it just gives it that extra oomph. :)

I love the sun rays on this card.......so cute! Thanks for the book reviews. I am into the second book of the series and can't put it down. I wanted to at least read the first one since the movie is coming out this weekend. My other favorite author is Sarah Addison Allen. She has some great reads. They are really light hearted books and easy reads. The last thing I really want to do in my downtime is think. LOL! I hope you are doing well! Hugs, Brandi

So what book had you sucked in?? I'm always looking for more to add to the mountain I want to read!
I love this beautiful sunny card - perfect for your weather right now. The burlap adds so much texture to the sun - funny how a 'small'thing adds so much!

What a cheery card! Love the subtle stamping! And such a great idea to have the sentiment on a tag! For me, sentiment placement is one of the hardest things. Hope you have a super day Jen!

I love this card! So happy. :-) I really love how the tag is swinging off one of the rays. And I am amazed at how you used the colours from the challenge, very clever!
