Special Wishes Pup

Hello hello!

I'm continuing to work on Christmas cards since the holidays will be here in no time at all.  Today's card is for the Simon Says Wednesday Challenge to use a stamp (no digital images).  This little cutie is from Gerda Steiner and he's sitting atop an oldie but goodie Hero Arts sentiment.  He's coloured with Copics and popped up on some ancient Adornit paper.  I love this bit of paper and am sad that I've just cut into the final piece although I guess I should be proud that I'm using it instead of hoarding it!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Candy Green 12x12) Adornit

Naughty Kitty & Pup

I've got a Christmas card to share for CAS on Friday.  I know the big day has past but you can never start too early for next year!  This is another adorable Gerda Steiner image.  I really love their critters - always so super cute!  I coloured him with Copics and popped him up on foam tape.  I used some washi tape on the bottom of the MFT die to ground him and couldn't resist adding an ornament down in the corner to add to his naughtiness!

I made a similar design using a Gerda Steiner pup (gotta cover all the critters!).  The patterned paper is ancient (from my ridiculous Christmas paper stash) so I have no idea who made it!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  ???
Stamps:  (Dog from Christmas Puppies, Kitty, ornament & sentiments from Christmas Kitten) Gerda Steiner
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Stitched Arch) My Favorite Things

CASology #321

Welcome to Week 321 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

When I was a kid I managed to break at least one glass ornament every year.  No matter how careful I was there was always one that "jumped" out of my hands and shattered on the floor so I feel for this kitty.  Hopefully Santa won't be too hard on him.  I mean really, how could you punish a face that adorable?

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Grumpy Birthday

It was my uncle's birthday on Tuesday so, since he's a fellow dog lover, I whipped up this card for him.  I think the look on this Gerda Steiner pooch's face represents pretty well how he feels about his birthday these days - he tolerates them but they certainly are not his favourite thing.  :)  I pulled out some more old Basic Grey papers for this card - this time Obscure.  Finally putting all the oldies but goodies to work.  I think I'll have to have a celebration if I ever totally use up a complete set of papers.
This card was inspired by the sketch at The Paper Players and the Animals these at Cupcake Inspirations.

Daubers & Doggie

Hello again and happy Saturday!  I've got two cards to share with you today.  First up is inspired by Tracey's awesome card over at Muse.  This is my second attempt.  My first attempt I stuck really closely to Tracey's design and tried to watercolor just the centre of the images like she did.  Me and Zigs still don't play very nicely together though so I put that card aside.  I started digging around through drawers and came across my Hero Arts daubers and thought they'd give me the loose feel of Tracey's coloring without struggling with the Zigs.  So I stamped the balloons and then splotched them with the daubers and I love it!  It's fun and funky and a bit messy.  I think you could give it to a guy (even with the pinkish balloons included).

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Black) Gina K
Stamps:  (Balloons from Admit One) Lawn Fawn, (Sentiment fromLabel Love) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Pale Tomato, Orange Soda, Buttercup, Field Greens, Tide Pool) Hero Arts
Dies:  (Stitched hearts) Lil' Inker Designs

Next is a card for the Addicted to Stamps & More CAS challenge using the sketch from Freshly Made Sketches.  This pooch is from an awesome Gerda Steiner set sent to me by the lovely Judy.  She introduced me to Gerda Steiner and after I oohed and aahed all over a series of cute pooch cards she had made Judy sent me a set for myself.  Crafty friends are the best!  I coloured this guy with Copics, fussy cut him and popped him up on foam tape so he could peek over the sentiment and strips of washi tape.  I love his adorably grouchy face!

Edited to add:  Judy suggested I enter this in the Gerda Steiner Share Your Design Challenge.  Thanks, Judy.  Glad to have a new challenge to play along with!
