CASology #386

Welcome to Week 386 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I had a few different ideas for the cue word but in the end I went for a creature that lived a loooooooong time ago!  These Heffy Doodle dinos are super cute and have the best punny sentiments.  I mean Juras-sick?  Seriously?  I love it!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #383

Welcome to Week 383 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I spent ages looking for an envelope die which I'm sure I had at some point but I couldn't find it anywhere so I turned to this adorable Heffy Doodle set and broke it open for the first time.  I would love to have my mail delivered by this joyful little pup bounding up my driveway.  It might even make bills and junk mail more tolerable to receive!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Have A Super Day!

I've got a super simple card today for the Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes challenge.  The sentiment is from Paper Smooches (who else is still super heartbroken that they've closed?) and I wanted to give it a superhero feel so I went for Superman colours and a super star.  If nothing else I should win the award for using super too many times in one post!

Outline Alpha Birthday

Hello there!

I've got a card today for three challenges - CAS Colours & SketchesFreshly Made Sketches and Darnell's NBUS challenge.  I broke out these Concord & 9th outline alphabet dies for the first time and used them to create some sentiment only cards.  I had to cut the letters from all 3 cardstock colours so I ended up making 3 cards.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Marina Mist, Not Quite Navy, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Birthday from Happy Snappy Crocs) Heffy Doodle
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Double Cut Alpha) Concord & 9th, (Classic Rectangles Large, Long Classic Rectangles Large) Spellbinders

I'm Not Lion!

Today's card uses the colours from The Paper Players and the sketch from CAS(E) This Sketch (I turned it 90 degrees to the right).  I layered some Heffy Doodle stitched circle die cuts and popped the Altenew lion and Paper Smooches speech bubble up on foam tape.  Once I stopped dithering about which order to layer the circles the rest came together quite quickly!

I actually played with the original sketch challenge back in 2015.  Here's my card from then:

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Cajun Craze, Crushed Curry, Mossy Meadow, Baked Brown Sugar) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Lion & sentiment from Geometric Menagerie) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Stitched Circles) Heffy Doodle
Other:  (Nuvo English Mustard Crystal Drops) Tonic

First I Drink the Coffee...

It's been almost 3 weeks since I've made or posted a card.  Life has been a little crazy with work, taking care of mom, vet visits for the critters and hurricanes (resulting in a flooded kitchen).  I feel like I've been running around like a headless chicken but not getting much accomplished.  Crafting fell by the wayside but today I finally got to spend a few hours in the Craft Cave.  It was blissful and I made a few DT cards and played along with some challenges.

This card is for Freshly Made Sketches.  I wanted to find a circular sentiment and dug out this one from Lil' Inker.  The cup and star are also Lil' Inker and the die in the background is the Bam Bubble from Paper Smooches.  I was pleased with how easily all my cards came together today.  Usually after this long a break I really struggle to get back in the groove.  This was a nice change.

No work tomorrow as Hurricane Teddy is passing nearby so if the power stays on I hope to get some more cards made.  No work last Monday either as we were being pummeled by Hurricane Paulette (which had what felt like the longest eye ever!).  Let's hope we don't have another hurricane day next Monday...

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Crushed Curry, Bermuda Bay, Crumb Cake) Stampin' Up, (Gold)
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Coffee Talk 2) Lil' Inker Designs

Die:  (Coffee cup, stitched star) Lil' Inker Designs, (Bam Bubble) Paper Smooches, (Stitched Circle) Heffy Doodle

The latest Paper Smooches challenge has an animal theme and Simon Says Wednesday challenge has proclaimed that Anything Goes.  For this one I pulled out an old favourite PS set with lots of adorable kitty images.  I cut the frame from some MME paper and added a yellow speech bubble for a pop of colour.

Sweater Kitty

Hi there!

I have a card today for 3 challenges - CAS Colours & Sketches, Colour Throwdown and Simon Says Wednesday Anything Goes challenge.  I think this is the first time I've inked up this particular Newton's Nook kitty.  He's so adorable in his cozy little sweater!  The Newton stamp set actually comes with this same sentiment but the words are stacked and I needed them in a line.  Thankfully Neat & Tangled came to the rescue!  I ended up making two of the same card and just reversing the colours.  Slowly slowly the Christmas card stash is growing!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Textured white, light  blue) Bazzill, (Dark blue) Paperbilities, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up

CASology #344

Welcome to Week 344 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

The humidity is really kicking in here so I guess it's time to accept that summer is coming and summer means swimming!  Plenty of people swim all year round here but generally I don't set foot in the water before July.  I broke that rule this year and went in last month but still... summer is about getting in the water, preferably with a mask and snorkel so I can keep an eye on what's in there with me!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

You Make My Heart Saur

Hi there!

I’ve got a card today for the Paper Players sketch challenge.  I did some more masking and inking although this time I used regular Distress inks and didn't have the paper pilling problem like I did yesterday with the Oxide inks.  These Heffy Doodle stamps are NBUS so I was glad to put them to work especially since I can't keep up with the demand for Valentine's cards right now!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Bird in a Frame

Hello!

I've got a card for the Colour Throwdown challenge today using one of my favourite WPlus9 stamp sets.  These birdies are so cute and I love their graphic feel.  I paired this one with a Paper Smooches frame and a Heffy Doodle sentiment and speech bubble.  I gotta say, the HD sentiment and speech bubble set is SO handy and is getting plenty of use especially when I have cards where I'm not quite sure how to fit a sentiment.  These ones usually solve the problem for me!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight, Basic Black) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Bird, branch and leaves from Happy Birds) WPlus9, (Sentiment from Whatcha Say?) Heffy Doodle

Marker:  (YR04, Y08, Y17, YG03, YG67) Copic
