Happy Halloween

It's been nearly 3 years since I last posted so I'll be amazed if anyone sees this or if the post even survives given that last year Blogger suddenly decided to delete about 30 of my posts for "content violations" (without actually saying what the violations were).  Posts that had been there for years.  Posts about handmade cards.  Not sure what was suddenly so offensive about them but whatever.  *insert eyeroll*

Anyway at the request of a friend I finally dug into my stash and made a few Halloween cards.  Mostly I just remade past designs but I did make one brand new one so I figured I'd share it.  This Ellen Hutson bear continues to be a favourite image and all the add-on sets that come with it make it perfect for so many occasions.

Hopefully it won't be another 3 years before I return!

Merry & Bright

Today's card is for the Fusion challenge and Darnell's NBUS challenge.  I was inspired by the sketch from Fusion and turned it 90 degrees to the right for a landscape layout.  I broke out these Lawn Fawn Christmas light dies for the first time and popped the lights up on foam tape for some dimension.  They were so easy to use.  Why have I waited so long???

R is for Rude

After being crowned Queen of Snark last week at the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers I was invited to be a guest designer for their new challenge - R is for Rude!  If you've never played along with (or heard of) the Sisterhood you MUST check them out.  You are always guaranteed a giggle with their collection of cheeky and sassy cards.

I made a few different cards for this challenge but this was the favourite in the end.  I pulled out these Skipping Stones Designs granny panties, paper-pieced them and paired them with a Technique Tuesday sentiment - they were made for each other!

Head over to the Sisterhood to admire the DT cards and join in the fun!

Both this Lawn Fawn stamp and the Cosmo Cricket patterned paper have been in my craft room FOREVER!  I have used them both before so they're not NBUS but it's certainly been awhile since they came out to play.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Today's card is for the CAS on Friday Happy Mail challenge.  I haven't made a one-layer card in ages and I almost had one here but then I decided to pop up an envelope over the heart.  I just couldn't help myself.  I can't stay away from that foam tape!

Hot Air Balloon Birthday

It's a public holiday here today so I got some much needed crafty time.  The first thing I did (after dithering over what podcast to listen to...) was play along with Freshly Made Sketches.  I rotated the sketch 90 degrees to the left and went from there.  This Lawn Fawn hot air balloon is an old favourite and I paired it with some WPlus9 clouds.  I had fun colouring and then got brave and gave my second card a not blue sky!  Who am I???

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Textured White) Bazzill, (Crisp Cantaloupe, Bashful Blue) Stampin' Up

CASology #385

Welcome to Week 385 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

The simple stripes dies I got from Mama Elephant are my new favourite things.  Do you know how much cardstock and how many swear words I've wasted in the past trying to cut them with my paper cutter?  Now it just takes a few passes through my Cuttlebug and all is right with my stripes!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Bah Humbunny

I have a couple of cards today inspired by the Addicted to Stamps and More Christmas challenge.  These grumpy holiday bunnies from Honey Bee Stamps still manage to be adorable despite their moodiness.  I had fun colouring them and their accoutrements and putting some ancient patterned papers to use for the backgrounds.

CASology #380

Welcome to Week 380 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This goofy pun has been in my head for ages and this week's cue word gave me the perfect excuse to use it.  I rarely make snow related cards as it seems silly given where I live but now and then its necessary to do silly things.  :)

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #378

Welcome to Week 378 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Part of the reason I love challenges so much is that they often cause me to dig out long forgotten and unused stamps.  I've used all the other stamps from his Altenew set but the stag has not been inked up before now.  He makes such a great Rudolph though that I can't believe I didn't think of it sooner!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

Paper-Pieced Ornament

I've had some mojo issues this past week but managed to come up with a couple of challenge cards.  Today's is for the CAS Colours & Sketches challenge.  I did some simple paper piecing on this Lawn Fawn ornament and added some Nuvo Crystal Drops to the dots for a bit of fun.  I really love Crystal Drops.  How did I live without them before?

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Cajun Craze, Pear Pizzazz, Basic Black) Stampin' Up

Two Foxes

I've got two more cards from yesterday.  They're for the JUGS (Plaid) and Paper Players (Fall Critters) challenges.  I pulled out an older Lawn Fawn set that has a few adorable woodland animals in it.  This little fox is my favourite and I love how cute he looks sitting with his tail tucked up on that log.  The plaid paper is also Lawn Fawn - remember when this stuff was EVERYWHERE?  I have a bunch of it and have barely cut into it because most of it is so pretty.  Today I was brave and used two whole pieces!  Yay me!  I ended up making two slightly different cards for different occasions.  Which is your favourite?

Supplies Used:

Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Bermuda Bay) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Perfectly Plaid: Fall 6x6) Lawn Fawn
Stamps:  (Fox & log from Into The Woods, Hat from Hats Off To You) Lawn Fawn, (Birthday from Labeled Messages) Mama Elephant
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko, (Baked Brown Sugar) Stampin' Up
Dies:  (Happy) Papertrey Ink, (Stitched rectangle) Mama Elephant
Markers: (YR04, BG15) Copic
