You're My Clark Kent

I was dithering about colours when I went to play along with the Wednesday Sketch challenge at My Favourite Things but once I decided to use the Clark Kent sentiment I knew I had to use Superman colours!  The card came together quickly after that.  I stacked 4 die cuts for the glasses to make them nice and thick and included an acetate layer for the glass.
I hope you're all doing well with lock down (if you're in it).  I'm enjoying having so much card making time right now.  I'm really going to miss it when life goes back to normal.

Bright Banners

I've got a card today for the Colour Throwdown challenge.  I'm excited about how it turned out but it took a lot longer than I expected to put together.  I futzed around for way too long with layout and colour combos.  There's only 4 colours - how do I make that so difficult for myself?  And then don't even get me started on picking a sentiment...

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green, Basic Black) Stampin; Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Simple Sentiments No 1) Simon Says Stamp

Stencil Cupcake

Ages ago I decorated a few card bases with texture paste and different stencils.  They're still sitting on my desk and the current Addicted to CAS challenge (Texture) gave me the perfect opportunity to put one to use.  I thought this particular one would make a fun frame for an image.  The pink seemed celebratory so I went for this yummy Altenew cupcake and sentiment which are popped up on foam tape for some dimension.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink
Stamps:  (All from Layered Cupcake) Altenew
Inks:  (VersaMark, VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Citrus Burst, Fresh Lemon, Maple Yellow) Altenew, (Fiesta Blue, Something Borrowed) Catherine Pooler, Regal Rose, Soft Suede) Stampin' Up

Stencil:  (Mini Labyrinth) The Crafter's Workshop

Birthday Giraffe

Today I have a card for the Freshly Made Sketches and Paper Players (A Day at the Zoo) challenges.  I actually made two - one is more CAS and the other is a little jazzed up for a 1st birthday.
Jacquie said this sketch was inspired by a neglected diamond die that she stumbled across.  Turns out I have a whole set of nesting diamond dies that I had completely forgotten about so thanks for the reminder, Jacquie!
The Avery Elle giraffe is one of my faves.  He's long been retired but I find myself reaching for him often.  I also love my Lil' Inker balloon die set.  There are a few different shapes, sizes and designs and they've gotten lots of use over the years.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Night of Navy) Stampin; Up
Stamps:  (Giraffe from What's UP?) Avery Elle, (Hat from Hats Off To You, Sentiment from So Much To Say) Lawn Fawn
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black, Memento Tuxedo Black) Tsukineko,

Pastel Feathers

Hi there!

Today I have a card for the CAS Colours and Sketches and Just Us Girls challenges.  JUGS want us to use feathers this week and I thought they would go well with the soft colours at CAS C&S.  These Simon Says Stamp feathers were die cut and layered a few times to add some dimension.  The sentiment is an oldie but goodie from Verve and the scalloped panel is one of my favourites from WPlus9.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White, Soft Stone) Papertrey Ink, Crisp Cantaloupe, Pistachio Pudding, Wisteria Wonder) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment from Words of Wisdom) Verve
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Die:  (Feathers) Simon Says Stamp, (Scalloped rectangle) WPlus9
Other:  (Nuvo Liquid Mercury Crystal Drops) Tonic

Basic Grey Birthday

After my recent mojo struggles I had a pretty good card making day today.  I pulled out some ancient Basic Grey 12x12 papers for this card for CAS(E) This Sketch and the AAA Birthday challenge (Dots &/or Stripes).  The birthday sentiment cake is from a super cute Lil Inker Designs set that has a few cakes of different sizes.  I used Nuvo Crystal drops for the candle flame and to sprinkle a few little dots around.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Daffodil Delight) Stampin' Up
Patterned Paper:  (Lucky 12x12) Basic Grey
Stamps:  (Eat Cake) Lil' Inker Designs
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko
Dies:  (Long Classic Rectangles Small and Large) Spellbinders
Other:  9Nuvo English Mustard Crystal Drops) Tonic

Dotty Mother's Day

Yesterday was a frustrating almost mojo-less day and I only ended up with these two cards before finally giving up.  They're for the Colour Throwdown challenge and also for a friend who asked for a card for his wife for Mother's Day.  As usual I'm dithering about which one I like best.  Thoughts?
