Polka Dot Flip Flops

I'm playing along today with the Inspired By... challenge and Just Us Girls (script).  I have a lot of flip flops but none as fun as these polka dotted beauties.  (Perhaps it's time to change that...)  The challenge photo inspired me to dig out this Lifestyle Crafts die that I've had forever but have very rarely used.  (Shocker, I know).  These fun scripty Avery Elle sentiments haven't seen the light of day in awhile either so thanks to JUGS for nudging me along to dust them off.

Birthday Giraffe

Today I have a card for the Freshly Made Sketches and Paper Players (A Day at the Zoo) challenges.  I actually made two - one is more CAS and the other is a little jazzed up for a 1st birthday.
Jacquie said this sketch was inspired by a neglected diamond die that she stumbled across.  Turns out I have a whole set of nesting diamond dies that I had completely forgotten about so thanks for the reminder, Jacquie!
The Avery Elle giraffe is one of my faves.  He's long been retired but I find myself reaching for him often.  I also love my Lil' Inker balloon die set.  There are a few different shapes, sizes and designs and they've gotten lots of use over the years.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Papertrey Ink, (Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Marina Mist, Night of Navy) Stampin; Up
Stamps:  (Giraffe from What's UP?) Avery Elle, (Hat from Hats Off To You, Sentiment from So Much To Say) Lawn Fawn

Rock Star

***This is my second post for today.  For my Colour Throwdown post please scroll down or click here.***

When I saw the latest CAS(E) This Sketch design I knew I wanted to use stars in the corner but it wasn't until I saw the latest ColourQ palette that I knew what colours I would make them.  I like that these colours could work for a girl or a guy and while I initially thought I'd inlay the dies I ended up stacking them instead for a bit of dimension.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Peach Parfait, Hello Honey, So Saffron, Bermuda Bay) Stampin' Up

Cool Summer

Hi there!  I'm popping in this evening with 2 cards for 4 challenges.  First up is this yummy ice cream cone for the CAS Summer Treats challenge at The Paper Players and the AAA Cards Paste and/or Stencil Technique challenge.  I used a Crafter's Workshop stencil and embossing paste to create the dotty background. I really love the fun texture it adds to the card.  Then I paper pieced a retired Sweet Stamp Shop ice cream, added a sentiment and some gems and I was done!

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Regal Rose, Daffodil Delight, Sahara Sand, Soft Suede) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Cone & sentiment from Cool School) Sweet Stamp Shop
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Rose Red) Stampin' Up
Stencil:  The Crafter's Workshop
Gems:  Recollections

Next up is a card using the inspiration photo from Curtain Call paired with the sketch from ShowCASe Your Style.  I used a few different patterned papers, some Lifestyle Crafts Flip Flops and a sentiment from Fresh Squeezed Stamps (which, sadly, is now closed).  That's it for me tonight.  Hopefully I'll be back tomorrow with a few more cards.  Have a lovely evening!

CAS(E) This Sketch 100!

Hello there!  I was so excited when Chrissy Larson contacted me to help celebrate the 100th sketch at CAS(E) This Sketch!  I was a member of the design team from November 2012 - June 2014 and I give CTS full credit for helping me overcome my fear of sketches.  I play along now and then and always check out the latest creations from the design team - it's a stellar group of ladies!  Anyway I spent a ridiculously long time on a card before finally admitting to myself that it just wasn't working and I needed to start over. Thankfully once I saw Therese's card over at Muse this idea came together very quickly and easily.  I hope you'll play along and make this 100th challenge a super special one!

I'm also playing along with the Moxie Fab Tree-Mendous Trees challenge and the Simon Says Wednesday Star challenge.

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Real Red, Daffodil Delight, Gumball Green) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Sentiment)  Woodware

CASology #121

Welcome to Week 121 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

This week the DT is playing along with our teamie Tracey McNeely's annual 25 Days of Christmas Tags event!  We've all used our cue word to make CAS tags instead of cards.  I'm generally not much of a tag maker and when I do make them I usually end up sticking them onto cards!  LOL!  However, there is so much amazing inspiration over on Tracey's blog that I had no trouble coming up with my own design this week.

Now, not only is Tracey showcasing a mind boggling number of amazing tags but she is also hosting a massive giveaway of goodies from 6 amazing sponsors:

CAS-ual Fridays
Clearly Besotted
Lawn Fawn
Neat & Tangled
Paper Smooches
Reverse Confetti

Awesome right?  Tracey is offering a chance to win every day by commenting on her blog posts.  She's also asked each of us from the DT to draw a name from today's post to add to her prize draw.  You have until November 27th to comment here for an extra chance to win!  Be sure and visit the rest of the Design Team to ogle their gorgeous tags and also to comment for even more chances to win!

And this week's guest designer:

Link your creations to the CASology blog and remember that the deadline for entries is Monday at noon (CST).

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Real Red) Stampin' Up
Stamps:  (Tree & sentiment from Get Merry) Hero Arts
Inks:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko, (Gumball Green) Stampin' Up

Retro Muse Smooch

I've got a trio of red and green Christmas goodness today! Michele is the guest designer this week over at Muse and she's set us a fabulous challenge to make three cards using one piece of patterned paper.  I have a ton of single sheets of 12x12 papers that I bought during sales over the years.  This challenge was the perfect chance to wipe the dust off the pile and put that paper to use!

For two of the cards I used sketches from other challenges to help me out.  The above card uses the Designer Draft sketch from Paper Smooches Sparks.

For this card I used the current RetroSketches sketch and a Fresh Squeezed Stamps image.

This final card is not attached to a challenge but was inspired by this beauty by Lynn from The Mango Boys and Me.  I'd forgotten about this Lil' Inker Stitches and Stripes Cover Up Die but dug it out after seeing Lynn's card.

The Cutting Edge

Jackie Rockwell has done it again and come up with another fantastic crafting challenge.  The Cutting Edge celebrates die cuts, die cuts and more die cuts and has a brilliant design team on board!  The first challenge asks us to take inspiration from this gorgeous card of Jackie's.  I was inspired by the yellow/orange and the large die cut.  I used a Lifestyle Crafts butterfly die and a Paper Smooches sentiment die to create this simple but effective silhouette. It's also flat and great for mailing.  This was super quick to put together so since I had all the supplies out I made another similar card.  Easy peasy!

CAS(E) This Sketch #75

Welcome to Week 75 of CAS(E) This Sketch!  Take a look at this week's sketch by N@ Ali:

Sadly, I have managed to reach  whole new level of disorganisation this week.  Between too much going on, internet issues, and trying to fight off a migraine I managed to miss the deadline for both of my design team cards this week.  Not good at all.  However, despite not appearing on the CTS blog along with the rest of the DT I'm going to post my card anyway.  I'm pretty pleased with this as I managed to use patterned paper and ribbon and still keep it CAS.  :)  Can't wait to see your entries for this sketch!

Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill
Patterned Paper:  American Crafts

Muse Thanks

Hello all!  I had a bit of time to play around in the Craft Cave today and wanted to join in with this week's Muse challenge.  How gorgeous and fun and cheery is Marion's card?  I was inspired by the colorful repeated die cuts and decided to frame mine with the negative of this butterfly die cut.

I hope you've all had a lovely weekend.  It was gorgeous here and we spent most of yesterday doing errands which did not please Mr. Atticus.  So today he got a swim, a walk and multiple ball plays to make up for it.  I guess he's appeased now as he's stretched out on our bed snoring his head off!  Have a good night!   :)

Seize the Washi Tape

**This is my 2nd post for the day.  For my Lawnscaping/CAS-ual Fridays post please scroll down or click here.**

Hello again! I'm back with another two for one challenge card.  I used the colors from the Paper Players challenge and the design from Seize The Sketch.  I love the bright and cheery colors in this palette - so perfect for a birthday card!  Instead of using patterned paper I pulled out 3 different washi tapes to decorate the stars and banner.  They are almost perfect matches for the colours and so fun to play with!  They're also NBUS (Never Before Used Sctuff) so I get a little pat on the back for that.  :)

Supplies Used:
Cardstock:  (White) Bazzill, (Pear Pizzazz) Stampin' Up
Stamp:  (Sentiment from Birthday Bash Sentiments) Papertrey Ink
Ink:  (VersaFine Onyx Black) Tsukineko

CASology #62

***This is my second post for the day.  For my CASE Study post please scroll down or

Welcome to Week 62 of CASology!  Here's the cue word for this week:

Arrows are super trendy right now and lots of companies have arrow stamps and dies and other arrow shaped odds and ends.  I wanted to make a clean and graphic Christmas card so I used Avery Elle's Chevron Die Bits to make a Christmas tree out of arrows.  Once I had all the little bits die cut it was super quick to put together.  It's also nice and flat - perfect for mailing!  Hop on over to the CASology blog and check out all the cool different arrows used by the rest of the DT and then play along with us!

And this week's guest designer:

Link your creations to the CASology blog and don't forget that submissions are due by 4pm CST on Sunday, 22 September.

Hello There

Good morning!  Just popping in quickly with a last minute entry for the CASE Study challenge.  I was inspired by the stripes, purple flower and blue bow.  I love that bright and cheery Simple Stories paper and I can see that my new Simon Says Stamp banners are going to get a lot of use!  The flower is a Hero Arts cling that I've had for a few years so this card has a good mixture of old and new goodies.  Off to get the day started. Hope yours is lovely!
