CASology #334

Welcome to Week 334 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

My infantile mind immediately went to funky smells with this cue word, helped along by Miss Chica who drops some hardcore SBD's on a regular basis.  Who knew such a big smell could come from such a small dog??

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #291

Welcome to Week 291 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I've only missed the last two weeks of CASology challenges but it feels like forever since I played along.  I'm glad to be back with what I think will be a popular cue word.  Every stamper at least has a butterfly stamp right?  It's like Stamping Law that at the very least you must have a flower stamp and a butterfly stamp in your collection.  This little caterpillar is from an ancient (probably long retired) Sweet Stamp Shop set.  I wonder if there really are any rainbow coloured caterpillars in the world?  Note to self - Google that!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #287

Welcome to Week 287 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I took inspiration from how Jennifer McGuire used sentiments to create backgrounds on these cards.  I love the look of it and thought it would work well here with the PB&J.  I actually plan to make more similar cards using other food combos from this set - one of these days!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #265

Welcome to Week 265 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I didn't think I'd be playing along this week but I got a bit of unexpected free time so I was able to make a card.  It also helped that I had some inspiration from this week's Make It Monday challenge at Papertrey Ink - Small Images on Repeat.  Lack of mojo is a nightmare but once in a while inspiration pops up at just the right moment.  Thank goodness for that!

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design team then play along!

CASology #206

Welcome to Week 206 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I broke out some NBUS goodies for today's card - the Reverse Confetti globe die and the Sweet Stamp Shop box of crayons were dusted off and put to use for the first time.  Originally I was going to have the Earth be blue and green but having that behind the colorful crayons was just way too busy so I kept the whole globe neutral.  I added the crayon colours to the sentiment for a little fun and to tie everything together.

Looking forward to seeing what direction the cue word takes you.  Check out the gorgeousness from the rest of the design and then play along!

CASology #187

Welcome to Week 187 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I love this fan image (unfortunately retired) from Sweet Stamp Shop and I thought of it immediately when I saw this cue word.  I also love the "fan-freakin-tastic" part of the sentiment so I wanted to highlight it when I made the card.  I found a stripe stamp that fit the sentiment perfectly and stamped it in Poppy Parade.  Then I paper pieced the fan, popped it up on foam tape and added a gem to the centre of it.  Clean and crisp with a pop of fun color from the stripe.  And now it's over to you guys -  check out the fabulous inspiration from the design team and then play along!

Honey, I Love You

I've just got one card to share today for the current RetroSketches challenge.  Another Valentine card to add to my ever growing stash.  I don't think I've ever been so prepared for a card giving occasion before!  This one uses Reverse Confetti stamps, Sweet Stamp Shop and Mama Elephant dies and some Simple Stories paper.  It came together really quickly which doesn't happen very often.  The bee is fussy cut and popped up and he and the heart both have a lick of clear Wink of Stella on them.  That's it for now.  See you tomorrow with two more cards!

CASology #171

Welcome to Week 171 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

I got this cute little stamp and die set from Taylored Expressions back in June but have only used one of the car images.  Today's cue word gave me the perfect excuse to break out the other one.  I want to give the feeling of movement so I stamped the puff of exhaust a few times without reinking it so it looks like it's fading away.  Unfortunately my sentiment is a little dark in this picture but it says, "Happy Birthday, Champ".  Now it's your turn.  Check out all the inspiration from the design team and then play along with us!

CASology #169

Welcome to Week 169 of CASology!  Take a look at the cue word for this week:

Before I start I have to share the sad news that Gillian is stepping down from the team.  Her adorable little man is keeping her very busy and although I'm sad to see her go I can totally understand why.  I'll miss you, Gillian!

Now, we've got a Halloween inspired challenge for you this week and I knew exactly what set I was going to use for it.  Unfortunately the Zombies stamp set from Sweet Stamp Shop is retired but I love it.  Funnily enough I don't think I've made a Halloween card with it before but I used it for a Valentine's card which you can see here and a Christmas card which you can see here.  As you can see from those cards the stamp set does contain actual zombie images but I wanted to simplify my card and just evoke the suggestion of zombies.  This was super quick to put together - just some stamping, fussy cutting and foam tape!  I can't wait to see your zombie cards and if you need some inspiration be sure and check out the brilliant designs from the rest of the team!
